CHAPTER 5

Amelia was bored so she strolled off into the kitchen. Kate turned out to be the chef and earlier, she had been told that her mother-in-law would come along to the place.

She drew a deep breath as she walked over to Kate who was a little bit stunned and was forced to inquire...

"Mrs. Amelia! What.. what are you doing here?" She inquired with a little confused look on her expression.

"I was told that my mother-in-law would be coming around and since you are the chef around here, I wanted you to leave things to me for a while." Amelia smiled.

She knew very much that her marriage was more or less a fake one and there was no need to get on good terms with her mother-in-law.

But she was the one who had made the decision and was not going to mean anything if she got along with her. Besides, it could be one hell of a six months if they were not on the finest terms together.

"I'm Afraid Amelia but I don't think that our Alpha is going to like that!" She said,

"I don't think that he would even care," Amelia said even though the maid who thought that she was wrong instead could not understand what exactly was going on.

"Please, Kate. Tell me who is going to find out anything about this if you don't spill?" Amelia said once again.

For a while, Bruce was still lost in his daze. She had sworn her allegiance to the Alpha and unlike every other mate, she liked Amelia because her mother was also human.

Her eyes were sparkling blue and charming. They made Kate smile. No wonder the Alpha could dare to cut boundaries and go for this human.

"The Kitchen is all yours." She said tossing off.

Kate wanted to help out a little but Amelia wanted this to be all placed on her shoulders. She had never been this extra careful, even when she was making a meal for her mother.

While she made the meal, thoughts of what had happened the previous night filled her head at the moment. The electric sensation of his touch.

No matter how hard she tried to think about it, she could still not throw away that feeling that she had gotten off from his head.

"Ouch!" Amelia cried out after she had been burnt by the pot. She could barely concentrate and her hands were boiling through.

"I can see that you are done!" She heard Kate's voice from behind just as she was trying to put the finishing touches on the meal that she was making at the moment.

"Let's just hope that it's going to taste just as good cause she is here already," Kate announced.

Amelia's heart almost jumped out from her head at the moment after hearing these words and Kate could see the look on her face.

"Don't worry! I'm sure that she is going to like you!" Kate mentioned the thoughts that were filling her head at the moment...

Amelia drew in another deep breath and nodded her head. She was going to see her mother-in-law right away and everything is going to work out fine..

Amelia walked off to the living room and opened the door. She was greeted by a blonde-haired lady, with striking features just like Alpha Bruce.

Her face was stale and it got Amelia a little bit startled. She sipped in a really deep breath. She needed to calm herself down.

"Good day, Mrs. Caroline. I'm."

"Amelia." Alpha Bruce's mother-in-law quickly snapped in.

This time, the look that was on her face was not just stale, it looked like he was going to tear her apart right into pieces.

"How much do you need? I want you to get as far from my daughter as possible!" She announced.

The words came after Amelia like a stab right through her heart. She was hoping that her mother-in-law was going to like her. But they had not even gotten the chance to get to know each other.

"But Ma! I don't think so."

She would not even allow Amelia to say another word from her mouth, throwing insults at her.

"Don't you even have manners? You are not just a human but also a mannerless and uncultured one?" He thundered with the looks of disdain in her eyes.

"I have told you already. Name your price and be out of this place."

It wasn't that easy. After learning about everything, she wished that she could live. But she was the one that had gotten herself into all of this in the first place.

In the terms of the contract, she could not run away or it would mean that Bruce would hunt her down and take her to court.

Her breaths were stuck in her lungs with her heart drumming at the same time.

"I'm afraid. But I will not be able to do that."

Amelia's words had suddenly made her flaw up with all the anger that she had in her at the moment. Her eyes suddenly turned golden and Amelia was stunned, taken aback in her steps.

It reminded her that no matter how good-looking and human these people were, they were still supernatural beings that could get her killed in a single snap.

And when she signed the contract, there was never a death certificate alongside it.

"Well! I don't care if you want to leave or not! I already gave someone better than a pathetic human for my son!" She growled.

Amelia could not tell what exactly she was talking about just yet until a crack from the door shifted her attention over to another place.

The door. And someone was stepping through it. A young lady walked in. With blonde hair just like Bruce and her mother-in-law. It was going to be more of a perfect union if she was never there.

For the first time, Amelia looked a bit closer at the person who had walked right through the door.

Her heart almost stopped beating as the realization of recognition washed up through her body.

What was her best friend, Ema doing in a werewolf pack? She was still stunned.
