THIRD PERSON POV:

Fae and Ryder lay side by side, his thoughts drifting back to Bella’s rejection. He hated his life at that moment, especially the fact he had to stoop so low for Bella’s attention.

“Who does she think she is?” he muttered aloud, sitting up abruptly.

Fae, lost in her own thoughts about what she had done to Bella, barely registered his words. She knew that once Bella spoke up, there would be an investigation, and there would likely be witnesses. That fear gnawed at her, but she kept her focus on Ryder.

“I wish I could make her disappear,” Ryder said, flopping back onto the bed in frustration, his arm brushing against Fae’s chest by accident.

The touch startled Fae, pulling her out of her thoughts. Seeing the frustration etched on Ryder’s face, she climbed on top of him, hoping to distract herself and him. She pressed her lips to his neck, but he stopped her, grabbing her hands.

“What are you doing? We only have about thirty minutes before breakfast, and I don’t want to

Bella:I hated them so much, but why did it hurt again seeing him with Fae? I turned to face her with tears shimmering in my eyes. “You do not have to keep doing this to yourself, please, Bella,” she pleaded. I swallowed hard, pulled the door open, and threw myself onto the bed.She shut the door and walked towards the bed.“I’m fine,” I muttered. She tried to hold my hand, but I withdrew, because I was ashamed that she had to see me this way.I wiped away my tears, then I took a deep breath, turning off my emotions. I was a fool for switching them back on, and I didn’t care if I was running from my problems. This seemed better, and I had better things to waste my emotions than some boys who didn’t give two shits abo

Bella:After Ryder was suspended in front of the entire school, I couldn’t pay attention to classes for the entire day. He had so much effect on me, and it bothered me a lot because I switched off my emotions, but he still found his way to bug my mind.“Turning off your emotions doesn’t affect me,” my wolf spoke, answering the question which had been bugging me the entire day.The last bell went off.Students rushed out of the class while I packed up my books after wasting an entire day for nothing. Maybe I should have stayed back, I reasoned, but then it was too late to cry over spilled milk.“Hey, do you know what extracurricular you want to take now?” Hazel asked, and I looked up to see her never-ending smile plastered on her face.I sighed, slapping my forehead because I had forgotten I needed to take an extracurricular to boost my credit units.“You cannot be sad all the time, and you know that.”“I’m not sad, I just feel guilty for what happened to him, and...”“Isn’t that what

The fact Bella moved out seemed like a good idea to him, but when he opened the door to his room and saw her space was bare, he felt a wave of sadness, which left him shaken for a moment.“You won’t even look at me after what you have done to disgrace me the entire day.”Fae’s voice cut through his thoughts, drawing him back to reality. She was supposed to be his peace, but right now she threatened it, and it made him wonder if this was worth it.“Look, Fae, I’m sorry for crossing the line, and I hope we can move past this,” he said, walking straight to his wardrobe to change. He pulled off his shirt and tossed it on the door of the wardrobe, taking out a casual shirt. He was about to pull off his pants when Fae got up from the bed.“That is all you’ve got to say?” She grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. “Is this

Spending a day with Ryder felt weird, and although I couldn’t easily let go of the fact he was a monster, I realized he had a heart.“Don’t you have extracurricular activities to attend?” I asked, and she shrugged.“Yeah, I do, but luckily the computer club can’t function without me,” she said, placing her fists on her waist, which made me laugh.I sat on my bed.“So what’s it gonna be? Will you join the club today?” She questioned, leaning in towards me with our faces touching.“I think I want to join the cheerleading squad,” I pushed away her face. Her face fell when I said this, but I was certain. Of course, I feared losing to her, but I knew I had to be brave and not let the fear get to me because that would only be the beginning of my failure.“I don’t like the sound of this, and I think you should sit it out, Bella,” Kai said, and I frowned at him.Since when did they care about me? I questioned myself as I stared at him. Wouldn’t they be glad if she stabbed me with a sword, and I was no longer in existence? It would lessen their burden of having a mate like me.“Good thing you are not my mum, and you cannot tell me what I can or what I cannot do,” I said to him, and then he scoffed. The suits were handed over to us, and we got dressed. I groaned further, trying to keep my eyes closed, but I knew it wouldn’t be possible with whatever Hazel had discovered. “It has your name on it,” she added, causing my brows to wrinkle.Of course, it had to be for me.“It’s from the Sapphire Belle Sisters. Bella:We went back to the apartment without Halle. She had asked Riley to go back with us, stating it was risky for him to drive back to the Dusk Pack, knowing that vampires lurked around the mountains on the deserted roads at night. When we asked where she was going, she gave us a warm smile, saying, “Adults worry about children, and not the other way around.”With that, she vanished.Soon, we made it to the parking lot of the apartment where Kai and Ryder were waiting for us. As soon as our cars came to a stop, they rushed toward us. We got down from the car, and then they rushed at me. Kai pulled me to himself first.“We had a feeling you were in danger, and I kept telling Ryder, but we shrugged it off, thinking Finn would call,” Kai said. I pressed my body harder into theirs.“What matters is that we are okay now,” I said to him, and then he kissed my cheek before pulling away from me.I looked at Ryder, whose face was drawn down.“I am not dead, Ryder,” I said to him, then he th

I looked back at Halle and Hazel to see that both of them had gone into a state of unconsciousness. They sat in the circle, holding hands, and looking up into the skies, and their eyes had gone white, so we had only ourselves. “Finn, you will kill him! We need answers!” Riley yelled, grabbing Finn, who struggled hard to hit the man. “Good. Then he can join my mother!” Finn yelled, but Riley held onto him. I walked up to the man, then placed a foot on his chest, pinning him to the ground. “Why did you pull him away? He was only hurting himself, and I am enjoying it. THIRD PERSON POV:The early morning sun crept through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Hazel stirred first from her slumber, her body aching as she shifted against the cold floor. A dull, throbbing headache pounded at her temples, and when she blinked her eyes open, the events of last night felt like a hazy blur.Next to her was Riley, who groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. His hand instinctively reached for his head, as if trying to push away the pain.“Ugh, what the hell happened?” Riley mumbled, squinting at the ceiling before glancing over at Hazel with confusion etched on his face. “Why are we on the floor?”Hazel pushed herself up, groaning as the ache in her muscles intensified. Her mind felt foggy. Something about the nightmare didn’t feel right—it felt far too vivid, and too real to be just a dream. Her parents’ faces and the accusations in their voices couldn’t be figments of her imagination, and the witch in her refused to let it go.“No,” she whispered in a shaky breath.Riley’s hand rubbed soothing circles on her back. “Hazel, it was just a nightmare. It’s okay—”He tried to convince her with a sleepy voice, but Hazel shook her head sharply, pushing the covers off her body as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed.“It wasn’t just a nightmare, Riley,” she said firmly, trying to steady her voice.
