MasukELLA
I guessed the pain Julia inflicted on my neck was disappearing,I didn't awoke to the intense pain on my neck, though I felt my energy had been drained.
Yawning,I headed to the washroom to have a soothing shower when the door stormed open, revealing my mother with a heaving heart.
Her eyes flashed around the room as if she was looking for something important.
“Where's……”. She trailed off,a frown ceased on her face.
“Who?”. I asked, confused. I was still in my pajamas.
“You're to get married to the future alpha of night blaze pack”. She blurted out, exhaling sharply.
My eyes widened in shock as I looked at her, drowning in disbelief.
“Why me?”. I furrowed my brows,my heart beating wildly against my ribcage.
“Arla has eloped with a Rogue after receiving the goddess Mark!!!”. She yelled furiously, her mood darkening instantly.
Her eyes held no atom of regret of what they had done to me, they were just agitated about Arla's escape.
I know she has always wanted to be Luna,my father owes the alpha a huge debt,so he requested his son get married to his daughter.
Arla was thrilled when she heard the news, but her joy died off when she realized she isn't the one with the goddess mark. Now I was wondering why she'd elope with a rogue after receiving my mark.
Is that the work of karma?
“No”. I mumbled under my breath, shaking my head in disagreement.
“Get ready for the wedding this morning”. My mother commanded, her eyes simmering red.
She turned to leave without hearing my response but I was fast enough to make her halt her steps.
“I won't do that”. I muttered out, certain she must have heard me.
“What??”. She glared at me coldly, her hands balled into a fist.
Her veins bulge in anger,a wave of anger was radiating off her.
She lunged at me, shoving me to the floor.I winced in pain as I struggled to be on my feet, but she used her superhuman speed to pin me on the floor.
Who exactly is she?.
“You have no right to disobey my orders, once Arla is back you'll have your freedom. Remember from today onwards you're Arla, Don't let anyone find out about your identity”. She scampered on her feet, dusting off some unseen dust.
I laughed hysterically, sitting with my butt on the floor.
I had always wanted to have freedom, but I was never given the chance to, instead I was locked up and beaten for bringing it up.
The little I had with me was the money I had planned to escape with after the full moon,by then I must've turned eighteen.
“The money is with me,you can't have it until Arla's return”. My mother said, bringing me back from my reverie.
“What??”. I gritted my teeth as trees rolled off my eyes,I had saved the money for years and now…..
“Go get dressed……your money and freedom will be given to you after our agreement”.
She walked to the door with calculating steps, looked over her shoulder and said “He's arriving in an hour, it'll be bad to meet his Luna in this state”. She pointed at my hair which looked untidy and then my pyjamas.
I don't know how I ended up in my room, the least I could remember was passing out in the living room.
*************************
I looked at the most charming man I had ever seen. They called him a ruthless and cruel alpha, but from my own perspective he was far from it,or maybe I…..
“Sign those documents!!”. His voice was cold and distant as she shoved me a contract wedding documents.
“We are no….”.
“Don't Let me repeat my words”. He warned, his dark grey eyes boring into mine.
I quickly averted my gaze and flipped through the documents.
I saw where Arla's name was written and where her signature was to be attached.I had wanted to use my signature but I quickly shook off the idea.
With shaky hands,I sighed an imaginary signature.
“I'm done”. My voice was barely above a whisper, and again he looked at me,as if there was something on my face,I averted his gaze, looking at the floor blankly.
“This marriage would only last for a month. Remember, you're a Luna by title, don't do something messy or you'll be punished”. He warned, tossing the documents on a man across the counter,he looked to be in his mid forties.
Kingston walked majestically to where a black SUV was parked, behind it was a black Rolls Royce.
I began to wonder what he had with blacks.
“You,be in that car”. He pointed at the black SUV and headed to the Rolls Royce.
Without saying a word,I headed to where black SUV was parked. I opened the back door and slipped,my heart thumping.
“Where are we going?”. I asked the driver whose face was impassive,he drove off without saying a word.
I guess he was dumb.
We pulled before a well decorated hall, with men and women of high calibers trooping in and out of the hall.
Some were outside with their lovers while some were on the dance floor.
Before I could reach for the car door,it was pulled open.
A guard stood behind the opened car door, his head bowed low in acknowledgement.
Kingston's car was packed behind us,I stepped out of the car, careful not to fall off the heels.
I'm not a fan of heels, this was my first time on heels,Arla was the only person who could catwalk on heels and yet she won't feel any pain.
I held my white wedding gown from sweeping the floor while I walked,my wedding gown was a sleeveless dress with my breasts almost popping out.
My parents must have bought the dress for Arla because she likes being practically naked.
The gown was laced with sequins which made it glitter.
Obviously,it wasn't my type of gown because I was Arla's opposite.
I almost fell to the floor when I missed my step because of how uncomfortable my heels were, but Kingston caught me in his arms, his eyes blazing.
Before a blink of an eye,he retracted his hands as if I was some kind of contagious poison.
He failed to mask the hatred that kept sweeping his face when he looked at me.
He headed towards the wedding hall majestically with more than six hefty guards following him closely behind.
“This way Luna”. I was startled by a voice which made me spin around immediately,my eyes narrowed in shock when I saw hefty guards standing behind me protectively.
I know his enemies must have their eyes on me,once an alpha has a Luna, she becomes his weakness.
“The alpha is waiting, my Luna”. The guard said, bringing me back from my reverie.
I was directed to where Kingston was,his dark grey eyes never leaving mine.
I dragged my dress to my neck to at least have my cleavage covered, but instead I almost had my breasts popped out.
I had wanted to pull a chair to sit on the same table with Kingston when our names were called on the stage.
He adjusted his well ironed suits, before holding my hands gently to the tensed.
I tensed, using my right hand to adjust my dress.I wouldn't want this whole crowd to see what I had been protecting for years.
Kingston stopped abruptly,he looked at me disgustedly before pulling off his coat,he covered me with his coat while I quickly buckled the upper part, covering my cleavage.
“Thank you”. I said, but there was no response.
We went to the stage where a man who looked to be in his mid seventies was standing. He held a bright smile on his face with a sharp blood, probably for blood oath.
He stood between us, facing the crowd.
He looked at me with a brash smile and said “do you Arla Hudly accept Kingston Kaden as your alpha and mate?”. His intense gaze was on me,I had to lower my gaze.
“Yes I do”.
“Do you……”.
“Yes I do”. Kingston replied, cutting the man in-between.
Kingston outstretched his palm toward him the whole time. I did the same. The man made sharp cuts on our palms,I winced in pain while Kingston kept his cold voice.
It looks as if he was forced to get married.
Our blood dropped on the same bowl and the congregation erupted in cheer.
Without glancing at me, Kingston walked away from the stage while I struggled to walk carefully,I must have had bruises because of the heels.
“Here my lady”. A lady ran out of nowhere and knelt before me. She had flat slippers in her hand.
“I'm sorry, you met the wrong person”. I said, drifting back, but she looked at me with a wide smile.
“The alpha requested this,so please allow me to help you”. I flinched as she began to unbuckle my heels without my permission.
“Thank you”. I replied when she was done but she said it's nothing.
My parents never cared about showing up,I'm not their favorite daughter anyways.
KaelI barely slept.Even after Kingston left my room earlier with his eyes hard, his voice too calm, and the weight of suspicion hanging between us like a knife, I couldn’t bring myself to close my eyes long enough to rest. My stomach twisted. My pulse thudded in my ears. My brother’s gift… or curse… the ability to detect lies. I had lied to him, and even though he didn’t confront me further, I knew he felt it.He always felt it.When I finally drifted off, it was a restless, shallow sleep. So when my phone buzzed violently against the bedside table, my heart flew to my throat.I snatched it up, blinking through the blur to read the message. It was from my personal servant Mara.My lady… there was an attack in the pack last night. The one who attacked…I think it was your high school friend. My blood froze. Every muscle in my body went stiff.
Kingston pov Sleep held me in a heavy grip until the sharp trill of my phone sliced through the darkness. At first, I thought it was part of a dream something warped and distant but the sound came again, louder, more insistent. My eyes shot open.I reached blindly for the phone on the bedside table, the screen glowing harshly in the dim room. River’s name flashed across it.A call from River at dawn was never good news.I sat up instantly.“River?” My voice was thick with sleep and unease. “What’s wrong?”“King…” River exhaled shakily, the kind of breath a warrior shouldn’t have to make. “We were attacked last night.”My entire body went cold.“What?”“They took Rio,” River continued. His voice broke not with weakness, but with fury he was trying and failing to restrain. “The pack’s head guard. They… they dragged him off before we could stop them.”I sh
Ella’s POVThe sound that pulled me from sleep wasn’t loud, just a gentle knock, followed by the soft creak of the ship’s door. My eyes fluttered open sluggishly, the remnants of the restless fear from the night still wrapped around me like a second skin. For a split second, I forgot where I was, the wooden walls and faint rocking of the ship foreign enough to make my heart race…Then I saw the familiar face leaning over me.“Ella,” Thompson whispered, his voice low and soothing. “I didn’t mean to startle you. I came to check up on you.”The pack’s doctor. The man who had insisted on joining us despite Kingston saying the journey was too dangerous. His presence now felt like a thin thread of stability, something warm in this sea of uncertainty.I slowly pushed myself up. “How long was I asleep?”“Couple of hours,” he answered with a gentle smile, though it didn’t ma
Ella’s POVThe creature’s words had not left my mind since the encounter in the tunnel. Even now, lying on the narrow bed prepared for me on the ship, I could still hear the echo of her voice, warning of a price a big one that would be demanded before we reached our destination. I stared at the ceiling above, tracing the faint cracks in the wood as my mind replayed every detail of the encounter. Every bruise, every trembling movement, every fear filled glance of that mysterious figure haunted me.Had I made the wrong decision? Was this journey, undertaken to save Kingston from the curse, a mistake? My hands instinctively clenched the sheets, nails digging into the soft fabric as if the act could tether me to some sense of control. Yet, no matter how tightly I gripped, the unease remained, twisting through my chest like a live thing.I turned my head slightly, catching the faint outline of Kael rest
Kingston’s POVThe market stretched before us like a living mosaic vibrant colors, bustling activity, and the sounds of laughter, chatter, and commerce weaving together in a chaotic harmony. I let myself breathe, taking in the scene as Ella walked beside me, her fingers intertwined with mine. There was something grounding about her presence, something that anchored the storm of my thoughts. Despite the curse, despite the looming danger, we were together and in that, there was a measure of peace.Ella’s eyes lit up as she watched the merchants and townsfolk, bright smiles playing across faces that seemed untouched by the weight of the world, their energy unlike anything I had ever seen in the typical werewolf settlements. Here, the people thrived, not just survived. The colors of the fabrics they sold were dazzling: deep purples and scarlets, gold trimmed cloth that shimmered in the sunlight, fresh fr
Kingston’s POVI stepped out of Ella’s cabin, my body still carrying the warmth and weight of her presence, but my mind was frayed. My wolf whined low in my chest, an echo of something I hadn’t felt in years pain, worry, and fear all tangled together. It was more than just concern for the journey; it was instinct, primal and raw. My wolf sensed the part of me that had felt alive now dulled, deadened by the weight of the curse that refused to release its grip.I staggered slightly, pressing a hand against the doorframe as my wolf complained again, its voice echoing through my mind. This is the mark of a dying Alpha… part of you is already gone. The words hit me like a blade. My heart hammered in my chest. Six hours on the ship and it already felt as though we hadn’t covered half the distance. The endless expanse of water mirrored my own unease. My wolf’s pain surged with every lapping wave, a reminde
