"What do you think about the mark Logan? Do you..." Peter asked, his voice low and cautious.

“I don’t know, but it doesn’t look right.” He definitely didn’t die naturally. "I think he was murdered," I said, my voice rough with suppressed rage.

That is most definitely it. The mark was still fresh, and the way he just suddenly died. They must have done something to him. The thought of Hilda, her crocodile tears and feigned grief, filled me with a burning fury. I clenched my fists, my knuckles white, I wanted to storm out there and confront her, but Peter stopped me in time as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Logan please calm down. We can't act on assumptions."

"Calm down?" I scoffed, my voice rising. "How can I calm down when the woman who undoubtedly killed my father is out there, pretending to mourn him? How can I stand idly by while she enjoys the fruits of her wicked deeds?"

Peter's gaze was steady, "We need evidence Logan. We can't just accuse her without proof. The police w

"What?!" I roared, my fist slamming against the desk the wood groaning in protest. "They can't actually do this, can they?"Peter nodded slowly, his expression grim. "I'm afraid they can. Hilda has been given charge of your father's body according to his will. She has the right to refuse the autopsy.""That witch!" I hissed, frustration overwhelming me. "She's trying to sweep everything under the carpet! Bury the truth with him!"Peter placed a hand on my shoulder patting me lightly. "Sir we need to stay calm. We'll figure something out. We can't let her get away with this." His voice was soft and soothing, but there was no soothing the anger that was simmering within me. My phone rang, the insistent chiming jarring me out of my thoughts. It was Gavin. I hesitated as I stared at the screen, then I cut the call. He called again, and I could imagine him yelling at me to pick up the fucking phone. I hissed as I turned on the screen and blocked his number in a fit of frustrated anger

  • HIS TO CONQUER    The knight grabbing me

The drive away from my home was a blur. It was the place I once thought was my comfort place. I had grown up there, built my first little snowman during winter, I did everything with my mom in that house. Now a stranger had taken it over. I slumped in the passenger seat, the weight of my despair crushing me like a big boulder. Peter glanced at me, his expression concerned."What's the plan Logan?" he asked, his voice gentle."I… I don't know," I admitted, my voice a mere whisper. The world outside the window seemed to move too fast for me to be able to get a grasp of even a perfect view. I felt hollow and empty. Everything I had known, everything I had worked for was gone just like that. My mind raced desperately searching for a solution. The only thing I could think of was the small cottage my grandmother had left me, a dilapidated old place out in the country. And the money in my bank account, a meager sum that wouldn't last too long. Just a few hundred millions in my persona

“Now, let’s talk.” I swallowed hard as I adjusted myself on my seat. “Why are you helping me?”“Because I can.” He replied at once.My eyes narrowed. “Because you can? That’s a very unbelievable reason.” I said doubting him all the more. I’ve been wary of him since the start, and hearing him give just this simple reason makes me all the more suspicious of his intentions. He chuckled lightly as he got up from his seat and strided towards me. I moved uncomfortably in my seat as he leaned in, placing both his hands on the handle of my chair. “Actually...” he said breathing lightly on my face. “the last time, I did take more than I had asked.”Confusing was etched on my face, “What are you talking about? What did you take?”He rolled his eyes. “I meant the kiss Logan. It wasn’t part of the agreement so I feel like I owe you something at least.”“So you’re taking me in just because of a kiss? That’s ridiculous.” I pushed his hands off.“Harassing me in my own home, that’s not th

“Say it nicely.” he teased.I was hot and very horny that I didn’t care how I sounded. I just needed him to put his hands on me and fast. I needed to feel him on my skin. I wanted him to touch me so badly.I bit my lips softly, “Please touch me,” I whispered as a blush crept up my lips.He grinned victorious as if he had just won something as he captured my lips with mine again, his hands tracing my belly botton all the way to the line of my short. I moved my body closer to his as his hands moved to my hard erection, stroking my meat softly. I moaned loudly as he cupped my balls with his hands. He squeezed softly and pleasure spread through my body.“It’s getting in the way.” I hissed as I moved up a little and got the little damn thing off my waist and down my legs and I flinged my shorts to the side. “How eager are you.” He sounded.... surprised? But completely turned on as well. I placed my hands on his shoulders as I spread my legs on the table. “Stroke me please....I’m abo

  • HIS TO CONQUER    A deal with the devil

Through and through, Gavin was a man of his words. A monster if I might say. He was such a powerful person who could even snatch my father's body from that mistress of his, Hilda and damned the consequences of the law, because the law could literally do him nothing. My phone had been buzzing incessantly, a testament of my victory, as Hilda and Jaxon kept calling and sending text to threaten.......try to appeal to me that she’d let me into the house if I agree to the cremation and bring back the body. I ignored them all, the insistent vibrations a mere annoyance against the comforting warmth of the gingerbread Mrs Lola had baked for me. I switched off my phone with a huff as I continued munching on my gingerbread. I'd already informed Peter of my whereabouts, and he'd be arriving soon.Mrs Lola approached me with a warm smile. "Would you like anything in particular for lunch Mr Logan?" she inquired, her voice gentle."Chicken curry and rice please," my smile mirroring hers."Of

I held the forensic report tightly in my hand, the stark black and white confirming all my suspicion. Hilda’s fingerprint were indeed on the syringe used to commit the crime. It was undeniable now. The police investigation had moved swiftly, the evidence irrefutable. She'd been found guilty by the court and sentenced to a term that felt too short. Twenty two years was barely enough in my opinion. She confessed that she did it all by herself so Jaxon wasn’t incriminated. That day, she had gone to give him his drugs, then the evil thought crossed her mind and she carried it out to give him an overdose resulting to his death. Thankfully, she was paying for her crimes now. Peter said we got justice, but I wasn’t really satisfied in the least. Just when I thought it was all over, that with the truth finally out, I could finally breathe. I had even moved out of Gavin's apartment and back to the house I grew up in, the house that held all my memories, both good and bad. It was supposed to

  • HIS TO CONQUER    New beginning

Living like this wasn’t so bad. I had a roof over my head, ate nice meal and watched a lot of TV. I can’t even remember if I actually sat down to watch television back then. I don’t think I did, never had the time to. Peter was mostly at his cat cafe overseeing things while I stayed home with his cats, whiskers, paws and Minnie which he called his children. Occasionally, I would feel guilty. I was basically leeching off of him, taking advantage of his kindness. I was a regular boss to him back then, but now he was taking care of me like he owed me his life or something and I felt horrible about it. It’s been months now and I don’t want to feel like a free loader. Feeling the need to contribute, I offered to help at the flower shop since he was mainly focused on the cafe. He had initially protested, insisting I needed to rest and recover, but I was fine now.....not exactly...but I needed to at least make a contribution. My insistence had finally worn him down and he had no choice

“Welcome what can I...” the words got stuck in my throat. Bryce? What the hell was he doing here?My smile faltered immediately. Bryce with his slicked back hair and that arrogant smirk plastered on his face, looking every bit the high powered annoying prick he always was. He was wearing a crisp linen suit, the kind that screamed ‘I come from money so bow before me peasants’ even from across the street. He looked as surprised to see me as I was to see him."Logan?" he exclaimed, his voice a mixture of disbelief and amusement. He pushed his glasses up his nose, his eyes scanning me with a curious intensity. "What in the…?"I managed a weak laugh. "Long time no see Bryce." I forced the words out.He chuckled, the sound hollow. "Indeed. What are you doing here? Selling flowers? I never thought I'd see this day in my life."I felt a prickle of unease. This was the last thing I needed. A reminder of the life I was living now. A humble flower seller. "Just trying to make a living,"

Stress. That’s all I’m feeling right now. After leaving Miller’s, I had other meetings to attend to and boy did I need a fucking body massage. Like my whole body needs to be touched... rubbed..massaged..ugh! You get what I mean. After hours and hours, and I mean boring long hours of meetings, it was finally my favourite part of the day. To go home.Peter noticed I was still a bit worried about the challenge with Mr Miller so he tried to reassure me on the drive home. "Don't worry Logan. We'll figure out Miller's challenge. Tomorrow, we'll put our heads together and come up with something." Yeah, right. Like ‘something’ was going to magically appear. Why do I have a strange premonition. Okay..I know if I ask Gavin for the money, he’d definitely give it to me, but I don’t want to. I want to be independent of him. We arrived at the mansion and Peter parked the car. I was about to get out of the car when my phone buzzed. I glanced at it, and my stomach did a little flip flop. It w

We stood up immediately he entered into the outer office to greet him. Mr Miller was such a man of charisma. Imposing was an understatement when it comes to this business giant. But his eyes were dark and sharp, utterly devoid of any form of warmth. His gaze rested on me as he scanned me up and down."Mr Miller, good afternoon sir," I said, my voice steady and respectful. It had to be. This wasn't the time for anything less."Logan," he replied, the single word clipped. No pleasantries at all, no ‘How are you?’ Just my name, delivered like a pronouncement. He gestured towards the uncomfortable looking leather chairs without another word, his gaze already moving past us, focused on something only he could see.I cleared my throat, settling into the chair. It felt like sitting on a block of ice and I moved so stiffly. Peter mirrored my movement, his own unease and discomfort so visible. Mr Miller didn't waste any time as he sat behind his massive desk, the polished surface reflec

Gavin’s tires crunched on the gravel as he pulled into the parking lot. I could feel his eyes on me, a possessive heat that always made my stomach flip many times over. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Peter leaning against my car, arms crossed, a picture of casual impatience plastered on his face as he kept glancing at his watch. Gavin scoffed as he took sight of Peter at the other end of the parking lot and I shot him a warning glare. "Please Gavin just stop. You're not helping."His jaw tightened, as he stubbornly rolled his eyes. "I could have taken you to Miller's directly," he muttered, the words laced with jealousy that made me roll my eyes."Be good Gavin," I sighed, already reaching for the door handle. I just wanted to get this meeting over with. Mr Miller was a tough nut to crack, and I needed to focus. But before I could open the door, Gavin grabbed my hand, his grip strong. He tugged me towards him, his eyes burning into mine. And then he kissed me.It wasn't a

The mere fact that Gavin had actually said the words ‘sorry’ had stopped me dead in my tracks. Gavin’s voice.. it wasn’t the usual sharp, almost forced apology he usually offered. This was… different. Genuine. But my back was still to him, I don’t want to look cheap and turn to face him right away. “Aren’t you going to turn around to face me?” he asked, the words laced with a hint of what sounded like vulnerability?“Talk from there. I can hear you clearly,” I bit out, trying to keep the edge in my voice.I heard him hiss, then I heard his footsteps, quick and determined, closing the distance between us. Before I knew it, he was there, his hand on my shoulder, turning me to face him. His eyes they held a mixture of emotions I couldn’t quite decipher. He wasn’t looking away, like he usually did when things got difficult. He was meeting my gaze, his expression intense.“I’m… I’m not good at this,” he started, his voice rough around the edges. “Apologizing. I wanted to… to show

This sexy daredevil Gavin. He had built this? This… flower cafe? Just for me? My breath hitched in my throat. It wasn't just a cafe with a few potted plants scattered around. This was a floral wonderland. Vines draped from the ceiling, blossoms of every imaginable colour cascading down like living waterfalls. I could only stare speechless. This was like one of my dreams come true. I’ve always wanted to come to a place like this, and he built this just for me. My heart which had been clenched tight with resentment and forced anger now fluttered like a hummingbird caught in a sudden burst of joy."Do you like it?" Gavin's voice, usually so confident, sounded almost hesitant. He was watching me, his eyes searching mine, a flicker of vulnerability in their depths."I… I do," I managed, the words a little breathless. A genuine smile stretched across my face, the first in what felt like days. "Thank you Gavin." The 'thank you' felt inadequate, a small offering for such a grand gestu

My eyes narrowed, focusing on Gavin as he sized me from a distance, like a predator accessing its prey. Wasn’t he tired? Was he here to fight again and accuse me of stupid shit? If that’s the case then I do not have anything to say to his stupid overly suspicious ass. Me being pissed was one thing, but Peter’s stupid chuckle grated on my nerves even more. “Go ahead and talk if you want to,” he chirped, and my frown deepened. “I would rather wrestle a grizzly bear with my bare hands than talk to that maniac.” I hissed, the words laced with venom. “Just pretend he isn’t there Peter. Seriously.” Turning on my heel, I stalked towards my car. The sooner I put distance between myself and that… that sexy viper, the better. But fate, it seemed, had other plans. Gavin fucking Slade, damn him, had already started walking towards us and closing the gap. God! I wish I had longer legs. “He’s coming,” Peter snickered, the sound echoing my own internal frustration. He seems to be enjoying

~ Logan’s POV ~A long hiss escaped my lips as I watched Gavin storming out of the bathroom, the door slamming shut with a loud resounding thud. “He has started again,” I said completely irritated and frustrated. Honestly, the man was being utterly unreasonable. It was Peter, for God’s sake. Peter, who was my secretary, yes. But he was also more than just my secretary. Peter, who was practically family. Peter, knew me inside and out. And Peter, who, I was absolutely certain, harbored no romantic interest in me whatsoever.Sure, Peter was a bit of a flirt. A player even. He could charm the birds out of the trees, male or female, it didn’t matter. He had always been that way and he was very charming too that he even flirted with customers sometimes. But he had never crossed a line with me. Never given me a single indication that he saw me as anything other than a friend, a boss, a… well, a complicated part of his life, I supposed. So Gavin’s jealousy, this simmering rage th

I slammed the bathroom door behind me, the sound echoing the rage pounding in my head. Fuck. Just fuck. I yanked my pants trousers on, the soft material surprisingly rough against my skin, a huge contrast to the slick heated feel of… last night. My jaw tightened as I recalled my night with Logan. Last night had been… perfect. God, it had been everything. Logan and I, pressed together in that cramped shower, the steam fogging the mirror, his warm mouth against my throbbing dick, his tongue swirling my whole lengthy. The way he had… the way he had moved and bucked his hips against mine. My fingers in his warm hole, loosening him up. It was perfect. My fingers clenched at the memory, a phantom sensation lingering. And this morning had started so well. We had been laughing, for fucks sake, almost getting at it again even, then Peter’s name had slithered into the conversation, like a goddamn snake. Just the mention of the man’s name was enough to ignite a fire in my gut. And L

“Teach me how to court Logan.” Those were the embarrassing words I had said to Lily last night. But now, I stood outside of our family mansion and Lily’s words echoed in my head.“If you want my help, you come home.” Help. As if I had a choice. I was utterly lost in the struggle to gain Logan Pierce’s affections, a lack thereof I had and Lily, that manipulative little… sister, was my only lifeline. So, here I was, at the house. Mom had also given me an ultimatum to return home today or actually get disowned for real. I let out a frustrated hiss, a small act of rebellion against the inevitable, and pushed the front door open, and walked into the house. The familiar sounds of morning filtered through the house. The clinking of silverware, hushed conversations. I knew exactly what awaited me. The ritual of forced civility disguised as family breakfast. As I entered the dining room, the scene unfolded precisely as I had imagined it to be. My father, as always, was engrossed in hi
