My hands trembled as the phone dropped from my hand and the screen shattered to pieces as it hit the cold marble floor, hard.

Peter’s eyes snapped to mine instantly. He was across the room in a heartbeat, his hands closing around my shaking ones. “Logan what happened? What was that call about?” he sounded so panicked as his eyes searched mine.

“Nothing,” I mumbled, my voice a rough rasp, and I tried to pull my hands away. I bent to retrieve the shattered phone, the sharp edges digging into my palm. “I just mistakenly… dropped it.”

“Dropped it? Like that?” Peter’s voice was sharp and completely disbelieving. He gave me that hard, penetrating look he reserved for when he knew I was lying, the one that made me feel like a kid caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar on the top shelf. “That wasn’t just ‘dropping it’ Logan. “It’s a surprise,” he smirked.I couldn't help but raise a skeptical eyebrow. "A blindfold? Is that really necessary for a date?" I asked, a hint of amusement in my voice. Before Gavin could answer, Peter swooped in like a dramatic superhero, snatching the blindfold from Gavin's hand. He turned to me, "Trust Gavin a little Logan," he said, a warm smile gracing his lips as he gently placed the soft fabric over my eyes, plunging me into darkness. Now all I could hear were their voices. "Take care of him Gavin," Peter said, his tone suddenly softer. Then I felt a hand on my arm, and Gavin’s voice, close and warm, whispered, "I've got you. I'll lead the way."Slowly, I followed his guidance, my hand instinctively reaching for his. He carefully steered me out of the house, down the porch steps, and then gently helped me into the car, making sure my seatbelt was securely fastened. I heard his door open and close as he slid into the driver's seat, then he started the engine and he started

  • HIS TO CONQUER    Will you...!

I stuttered. “My… shares?” I was genuinely surprised that he had it with him. Was he taking more shares again? It can’t be. “I don’t… I don’t understand.” I said completely confused.Gavin simply offered a small, almost hesitant smile and extended the document further. I took it, my fingers brushing against his. I unfolded it, my eyes scanning the content. My breath hitched as I read the whole content of the first page. I blinked, once, twice, trying to make sense of it. “Gavin,” I began, my voice thick with disbelief, “are you… are you serious about this? About giving me all my shares back?”He nodded, his gaze steady and sincere. “Turn the page Logan.”My fingers trembled slightly as I flipped the document. The next page detailed the transfer of ownership, not just of the shares, but of the entirety of my inheritance, the properties, the assets, every damn thing that Pierce owned. My jaw dropped. It was a complete and unconditional handover. It was… everything.Words failed me. A

Thinking about it felt like a beautiful terror.I must have been silent for too long. I saw fear in Gavin’s eyes, a shadow of doubt that mirrored the confusion in me. His grip on my waist tightened. “If you don’t want to,” he began, his voice a little rougher now, “I understand. Before I could even process the shock, my back was slammed against the car with force.“Jaxon! What the hell are you doing here?” I gasped, my eyes wide with disbelief and a dawning sense of danger. I shouldn’t be here alone with him. He grinned, as his eyes were bloodshot. “I have been trying to reach my dear little brother for weeks now. But your precious Peter has been quite the effective gatekeeper, hasn’t he?”My gaze flickered downwards, no wonder I haven’t been getting those weird text. Enjoying the fruits of your… newfound happiness?”“I’m fine Jaxon.” I attempted to straighten up, but he continued to block my m
