CHAPTER 5

Atlanta, Georgia

Enrico

"Call everyone here right now!" I told my right hand, Mathews, in an angry tone.

“Boss, is everything OK?" He asked, but I threw everything on my table to the ground and turned it over.

“Are you going or should I do it myself?" I asked him this time, pointing a gun directly at his chest, and we both knew my bullets never missed. "I—I will," he said quickly, hurrying out.

I was still in my office, destroying everything in my path as a sense of defeat burned inside me. "Oh my goodness, Enrico, what is the matter?" Monica inquired as she and my men hurried into my office.

"I should be asking all of you that now," I said, staring at everyone fiercely, including Monica, who did not bow her head like the others because she was my girlfriend.

"What happened, Enrico—did the Delucas offend you, or is it that stubborn bitch?" Monica asked as she attempted to approach me, but I pointed my gun at her.

"Stop or you might regret taking another step," I warned in a serious tone.

“Enrico please put that down I'm —"

"Uh!" she screamed as I shot at a glass beside her.

"Shut the hell up and go stand with them," I said as I walked out of the safe, retrieving the most painful gun I used to shoot traitors.

"Luis just married Ariella right under my nose, and it would not have happened if one of you had not told him, so who betrayed me?" I asked them, while they all shook their heads in fear.

“What!" Monica exclaimed shock all over her face.

“You heard me right Ariella married Luis Deluca, the man I have spent the last decade trying to bring down. Do any of you understand what that means?" I asked while I loaded the bullets into the gun.

"How is that possible, boss? I thought only we knew about your plans." Mathews asked.

"Very true; that is why I will kick you all out if none of you speak up," I said, pointing at Monica first.

"Enrico, for goodness sake, I am the last person who wants to work against you. I would rather die than watch you go down at Deluca's hands," she said.

"Good, I will give you all one last chance. It is either you speak or watch me—”

“Wait!" Monica cut me off.

"I believe I know who the traitor is," she said, walking from her position to Mathews.

“Wait, what are you trying to say?" Mathews asked her his voice stuttering.

"Who was that old man you were talking to at the casino yesterday before becoming uncomfortable when you saw me?" She asked him, and he could not stop laughing.

"Come on, I don't even know that man; we just had drinks together," he said, but I could not believe what I was hearing.

"Are you sure about that? I followed you until you dropped him off." Monica asked.

"And that was it, I don't know him,” Mathews said.

"OK, maybe you might recognize a picture of him going to the Deluca mansion," she said, pulling out a photo of the man heading there.

“What! No, I would never betray Enrico; there must be a misunderstanding somewhere," Mathews said, attempting to defend himself, but I interrupted him.

"I am very disappointed in you," I said, pointing the gun at him.

"So am I, Mathews, dammit; we are supposed to be family; look at what you have done to my Enrico; now that bitch is in the enemy's hands," Monica said.

"I am afraid we have to do it the right way when dealing with a traitor," I said, shooting him repeatedly and without emotion.

His blood was flowing in my office, so I asked the men to remove him and dispose of his body while I went upstairs to clean myself. "I am so sorry; I can not believe Mathews had such plans," Monica said as she entered my room.

“It's OK I believe you should stop mentioning his name already, and I need space, so you should leave now," I said, and she followed my order without hesitation.

I walked into my room and closed the door. I went into the bathroom to look at myself, trying to hold back the pain of losing my most valuable asset. I knew Luis Deluca had declared war, and that is exactly what he would get, but I needed to deal with some people first. I summoned my men and asked them to bring Rosalia Johnson to me, as she needed to explain how Ariella married Luis under her supervision. After my shower, I went downstairs and found her in the living room.

"Mr. McDonald, you called for me, and I am so honored to be here; what a lovely Villa this is," she said with a smile.

"Good, now tell me what happened to Ariella," I asked her in a serious tone.

“Ariella? I am not sure where she has been for the past 5 days, but when she gets home, I will arrange for her to come see you personally," she replied.

"Are you certain you understand what you are talking about?" I asked.

"Yes, look, if she has a boyfriend, I will get rid of that bastard myself; there is no way she will go for anyone other than you under my watch," she replied, this time with fear in her voice.

“Rosalia You are behind on everything, huh?” Monica interrupted as she entered.

“No, calm down, I'll make sure to get rid of any boy she's trying to get involved with. There's no way I'm allowing anyone other than Enrico to have her," Rosalia responded.

"Then how the hell do you not know that your niece is now married to Luis Deluca?" I asked.

“Wait.. what?” she replied as her face widened and shock took over.
