Two agonizing days had passed since Hazel slipped into a deep slumber, her body remaining unresponsive to both medicines and Serene's mystical attempts to rouse her. Night after night, Wyatt would visit her, a silent vigil by her bedside.

"Serene, it's been two days. Why is she not responding?" Wyatt's voice betrayed a weariness, his eyes reflecting the exhaustion of uncertainty.

"I don't know. I've tried everything to bring her back," Serene confessed, her usually confident demeanor replaced with a flicker of helplessness.
