Iris's POV:

It's all my fault!

If I hadn’t touched his tattoos, none of this would have happened.

I knew that things were going to go wrong the moment my fingers brushed against his skin.

I had spent the entire day avoiding him and Athena, paralyzed by a gnawing mix of fear and guilt.

The image of my hand on his bare skin replayed in my mind like a broken record.

How could I have been so foolish?

I knew better than to touch someone in such a personal manner, especially when they weren’t dressed.

Even though I have known him for years, that doesn't give me the right to touch him, particularly when he wasn't wearing a shirt. Bad girl.

Athena’s likely reaction was the source of my dread. I was certain she would lash out at me, and the thought of facing her anger made me shudder.
