The hailing produced cackling sounds as it hit the wind chimes that echoed in the silence of the Mirza’s house.

“There’s only one green eyes girl for whom your heart melts.” She elaborated as I sighed. She was indeed a step ahead of me. “You know how much of a burden I had on my shoulders that I couldn’t save my best friend from my husband and after that I lost her daughter. I couldn’t keep her in my house before but now you made that possible. At first I ignored the way you look at her but when you came in my room announcing that you want to marry her then I glanced at her. The same eyes and there were the same innocence in her eyes like before but the sparkles are nowhere to be seen now. She lost herself.” She sighed as she scratched the pearl of tasbeeh in her hands.

“She lost many things.” I whispered looking at the ceiling while resting my head against the headrest.
