"Firstly, I will have a 70% share in your business, of which you will have 30%, and we shall sign all necessary documents," I uttered, and the look on his face changes.
I will so deal with this man; he killed my father and the people I care about, and now he wants me to help him.
Screw him. I took a long look at him, waiting patiently for him to make his decision. But I don't think he's ready to do this.
"When you are ready to make a decision, you can tell me; I've got other things to do," I said in a final tone.
"Oh, wait, I was just trying to think it over; you know I can't make decisions in haste. But what are your others conditions?" He finally let out.
"I don't state my second condition without getting an answer to the first one; you can ask him. I don't do business with people who will bring me bad luck. The decision is yours." I stood to leave.
"Okay, wait, please just state the second condition, and I promise to give you a reply on both." He spoke calmly.
"Mr. Khalid, please just state the second condition.Let him think over it." "Steve, try to persuade me.
"Sorry, man, I don't get persuaded easily. This is business, and I don't go back on my words. You can go and think about it all you want, but I won't state the second condition without the first reply, "I insisted.
I can see he is on the edge of making up his mind. That's how people like him should be treated.
"Okay, but let's make it 50," he said.
"You don't tell me how to run my business; this is my money and time that I want to invest in you." I cleared my throat and scowled.
I could feel the hatred rising in me. I will give you slow death and pain, devil.
In your next life, when you hear who goes by the Lionel family, you will take another route.
"Okay, I agree. The other condition "He asked, with eagle down.
It's good to see this type of person down.
"I heard you had a beautiful daughter; I want to marry her," I said, and a smirk played at the corner of my lips. Then I see a broad smile on his face.
"Really, you want to marry my daughter?" He asked eagerly.
"Yes, you don't have to worry about the expenses; I will handle them." I managed to speak up.
I am very angry seeing him smile; he must be really happy that I am getting married to his daughter. But I will deal with everyone in his family. His wicked face pissed me off.
"Yes, in fact, if you want the wedding to happen tomorrow, I am ready, and my daughter is really so lucky for someone like you to propose. In fact, take this handshake to assure you that we are family," he said, stretching forth his hand.
He mentioned family; I smirked and shook hands with him like the gentleman that I am.
"Invite all the big people you know; I really want a large wedding," I said in a tone of finality and stood up. They also did, and I saw them off.

Edward Mansion
He walked into the mansion, shouting Nathaniel's name.
"Honey, what's that, and why are you shouting her name like that?" His wife asked.
"Spare me that question, woman; I need you and your daughter, because I want to speak with her." If she messes up this time, I will kill her myself. I swear when I say I will kill her"He thundered, and she fidgets.
"Dad, I had my name.Do you call me?" She asked, coming down the stairs.
"Yes, I did, young lady, and I am here to talk about a very important thing," he said in a croaky voice.
"Maybe about a date; I know you well. The best thing you know how to do these days is get me to go on a date, and properly, you found another person to hook me up with. But I refuse, sir" She said, and she was about to walk away.
"If you dare move an inch, then I will not spare you. You are right; all I talked about before was dating. But now, I want to talk about marriage, and it will happens before this week ran out" He Thundered.
She was shocked and turned back immediately.
"Are you kidding me, marriage to a stranger?" she asked with teary eyes.
"Not a stranger, but a business partner. And I don't want to lose this opportunity, so better get yourself ready; he will be here tomorrow" He spoke authoritatively.
"No, I won't get married. I have someone I love, and there's nothing you will do about it, sir," she snapped at him.
Mrs. Edward walked closer and slapped her on her face.
"What audacity! Who gave you the guts to speak to your father like that? My own husband—do you know how he suffered to cater for us? He goes out there every day just to provide for us, and you are here ranting. He only wants the best for you; that's why he wants to get you married to a rich person. Don't you get that foolish daughter!" she shouted and turned to face her husband.
"Don't bother yourself, darling, go inside and rest. I will talk some sense into her." She pacified her husband and dragged Nathaniel into her room.

Khalid
I got home to see my silly friends watching movies together.
"Wow, I can see you guys really feel at home," I said, pulling my suit tighter.
"Off course, man live once"Jenny replied.
"Well, guys, there's a new development about my revenge." I blow the wind. And immediately, their attention was on me.
"Common, tell us about it," Herald said. And I could see that both of them couldn't wait to hear what I had to say.
"Split it, bro; stop this suspense; it's killing me!" Jenny shouted. I told them everything except for the marriage part, and I also wanted to shake them with that.
"WOW, bro, that's a good move," Herald said, smiling.
"You see why I said I had a change of plans early? Everything is now working in my favor," I explained.
"God is really fighting in your favor," Jenny smiled.
"Yes, I reply, biting my teeth for the umpteenth time.
"And you both should get ready; we have a wedding to plan," I exploded.
"Wedding!" The two exclaimed. "Yes, to make it easier, I asked to marry his daughter, pretty Nathaniel. Just also need to taste from her parent's sins: "I lick my lips as both couldn't stop glaring at me.
"I don't really buy the idea, but I think since it's all about revenge, I'll gladly support this," Jenny said with a sad face.
I know that wasn't part of my plan. It's okay; after all, it's my revenge, and anybody can cut out at anytime.
"Please, I need to see you privately, I mean right now," Herald said and stood on his feet.
He sounds like a boss.
"Hey, what is it that you can't say here? Say it; let's hear you out," Jenny insisted.
"Manly talk, girl," he replied.
"Screwed you and your manly talk, aren't we one?" If you can't say it, then swallow your gut and see the way you are ordering him like you are the boss here" She shouted, moving towards him.
"What's your problem, girl? I said I want to have a private chat with my friend; do you forget he's been my friend since childhood? We only met you in London ten years ago; we've come so far for this revenge, and in fact, he's not just a friend but a brother to me. So screw you for thinking I can have a private chat with him" He snapped at her.
I am getting frustrated with the silly argument. They always find a way to fight each other on some unnecessary occasion. And I know how to turn them down.
"Okay, I go nowhere. I think you both can rest now. Mr Herald, my childhood friend, be ready to be my best man," I said without standing up. And the two of them went to sit angrily.
I think it's time to clear the air.
"I think you both are so silly fighting yourselves. That wasn't necessary. I really appreciate the fact that you both came this far to help me get revenge. I respect that, but let's not fight ourselves. I know what you want to say. Maybe I shouldn't go into a relationship in a rush right.
It's not anything like that; this is just my strategy to ruin that family. And I will leave no stone unturned.
Trust me when I say this. All I just need is to be sure if you guys are still on my side," I asked, and they both scoffed.
"Always on your side." They both answered.

"Your husband-to-be will be here soon; better behave yourself," Mrs. Edward warned.
A few minutes later
Khalid and his friends drove into the Edward compound with the guards. The guards quickly opened the door, and they all alighted from the car.
Herald and Khalid stare at each other and remember some old memories of how they always sneaked into the compound to see Nathaniel. Khalid smirked and Herald smiled as they all went inside and were given a warm welcome by Mr. and Mrs. Edward.
She orders their maid Michelle to fetch Nathaniel, and she leaves immediately.
She rushed to her room joyously.
"Nathaniel, you can't believe it. It's Khalid and his friend—I forget his name—that one that loves girls a lot," she shouted happily.
"Are you being serious? Oh my goodness, so Khalid has finally come for me; why don't they tell me? Is this a way to surprise me?" She asked happily.
"I am not sure; I think Khalid doesn't want them to know about you two knowing each other. Just pretend like you both don't know each other; if not, you might not be able to be with the love of your life," she warned her before they both went out of the room excited.
Khalid smirks seeing her come down. And Nathaniel pretended not to know him. He was shocked but smirked it off.
"Nathaniel, meet your future husband"
"Khalid," she mentioned before he could complete his statement.
"Do you both know each other?" Mr. Edward asked, and they looked at each other confused
"Do you both know each other?" Mr. Edward asked, and they looked at each other confused. Khalid wanted to speak, but Nathaniel cut him short. "No, this is the first time I am seeing him; dad, how could you forget that you mentioned his name to me yesterday? Maybe because you were angry," Nathaniel said, faking a smile. "Oh, I forget. Sorry, my daughter. So what do you think about my daughter, Mr. Khalid?" Mr. Edward asked, sitting down. Nathaniel also sat down and smiled with the corner of her mouth. Herald noticed this and signalled Khalid. He smirks and replies to Mr. Edward's question. "I must say you have a beautiful daughter, so smart and amazing. "I like her already, but it will be good if we ask her what her decision is," Khalid suggested. "No, my decision is her decision. You don't have to worry; she has agreed. "Mr. Edward tried to convince him.No, she's not a kid. She should be given the opportunity to decide what is good for herself. So let her decide, and on her
"What are you talking about? Who are you going to punish?" She asked glaring closely at me. That was quick; I wasn't expecting those questions. What answer will I give her? I just had to divert the conversation. "So let's go shopping before marriage, you know. So we can have a memory," I suggested. "Don't try to escape my question. Just answer me first," she insisted. "Oh, baby, you are still as stubborn as I left you." I tried to escape the questions. "That's not a reply," she said, pouting. "Well, if you insist, I mean, I won't forgive myself because I took so long; don't you think I deserve some punishment for keeping you waiting?" I lied, and she couldn't stop glaring at me. Why won't she fall for me when she's always glaring at me? Did she think I would fall in love with my enemy? Nope, I will deal with her so well that her parents will mourn each and every day. I will make them suffer. I want to show you nothing but my wrath. You shall feel it as each day passes. I will
"I asked again, are you in love with my enemy's daughter?" He roared like an angry lion. Herald stared at him for a while and then burst into laughter. "Is this really funny?" he asked with a long face. "Yes, infact you are a joker. You are aware I am a playboy; how can someone like me fall in love? I know Nathaniel loves you a lot, and I don't want you to make a mistake you will ever regret" "Please Khalid, think about it," he said, and he sat down on the sofa. "Stand up and get out of my house," he ordered authoritatively. "Are you serious right now?" He asked, standing on his feet. "Since you don't understand the excess of my revenge and have chosen to support my enemy in spite of everything, I think you are no longer needed here," he said, and put on a fierce look. "I am not supporting your enemy; in fact, I want you to punish those old people very much. But not the innocent girl; can't you get that?" He tried to make him understand. "Get out, or I will be forced to
"How could they be planning on killing the man I love?" This isn't going to happen. Noooooo, I won't let this happen. Even if it's going to cause Edward's life's"Nathaniel shouted. She wonders how callous her parents could be. How could they be planning to kill him just for his wealth? Khalid I love you with all my life, and I won't let anyone hurt you. She said with teary eyes that she was trying to hold herself back from crying, but she couldn't. She picked up her phone and dialed Khalid's number. But there was no reply; had he refused to pick up her call? Did she do anything wrong to him? Different thoughts popped into her mind. She later resorts to calling Herald. But she drops the idea. "I think it's time I face these people; for how long are they going to make my life miserable? All they have ever given me is pain all my life, and the only person that makes me happy, they are planning on taking him away for me." "How callous could they be?" She dashed out of her room
Khalid looks at the stack of work he has to tackle. He tried getting himself to work but couldn't. He actually thought it would be easy for him to move on without Herald, but it's quite difficult. He really needs to speak to him but that idiot has refused to pick his call. He was so worried. He decided to tell jenny about this. He pick up his phone and dial her number. "Hi dude"Jenny voice came from the other end. "I am not fine, please can you help me contact Herald, I try my best to call him but he refused to pick up my calls"He said calmly. "Did you both had an argument"She asked. He took a deep breath before speaking. "Yes, but I shouldn't have walked him out of my house. I made a big mistake"He said with regret in his voice. "That was too much, ever if it was me, I would not pick up. But don't worry you make the right decision by calling me. I will check on him for you"Jenny said, giving him an assurance. A smirk light up his face. "Thanks sweetie, I owe you bi
"No, we are in the same boat. I was thinking we should stop this marriage by any means," she suggested with an evil grin. There was a long silence. Herald scoffed and shot a glare at Jenny. She was eager to hear his opinion. "I am not going to support this," he finally said. "Why? "you really don't want him to punish her, right, then why don't you want to be part of this?" She asked and rushed towards him, holding his hand."We can't do this; you know Khalid well enough. He won't forgive us if he finds out. I think he's right; this revenge includes the whole family. He should deal with them, " Herald said, even though it wasn't coming from his heart. She looks really disappointed. That wasn't what she expected. She took a deep breath and tried to emotionally blackmail Herald. "I feel so much for Khalid; he has really gone through a lot." He deserves revenge. I am sorry for saying that. We should support him instead of going against him," she said with teary eyes. She has always
"Khalid who is the guy, and why the sudden meeting"Herald asked confused. Jenny also nod to this. He chuckled. "Firstly, I will like to say sorry to you Herald,I was so rude and I betrayed brotherhood"He apologized. "You are forgiving. So who's this guy?"He asked. "Yes, is he one of your business partners. Or who is he?"Jenny asked, with anxiety in her voice. "I know you guys are curious. Just take a chill pill. Well this is Steve"He started by introducing him. "Huh Steve, so what does that got to do with us"Jenny asked, tired of the gathering. She just hope Khalid is not trying to introduce a new friend because she hates having so many friends. "Well, the guy here is an actor, but not a popular one"Khalid furthers say. "Oh! but what's an actor doing here. Are we shooting movie?"He asked, trying to understand what he's trying to get to. "I wanted to ask the same thing"Jenny said and put her hands under her jaw. "Can you guy allow me, your questions are freaking me out. You sh
Khalid POV"Guy, I think this will suit you well; I will go for this," Herald said, picking a suit for me and himself."Let me try it on; let's see how it goes," I said, and I took the suit to the dressing room. I came back and they were mesmerized as if this is the first time I am putting on a suit. To me, it doesn't makes any difference. "Wow! You really look good in this. "Common dude, marriage is already shown on your face," Herald said teasingly. "Don't miss these two things, dude: revenge, not marriage," Jenny corrected, and Herald chuckled. "Correct. I know you are smarter than this guy," I said in support of Jenny, and we both shook hands. "Whatever, all I know is that you are getting married. And I think that's a good thing because I might be lucky to find my bride," Herald said while trying his suit on."Really, what about your flings?" "Are you giving up?" Jenny asked. She didn't mean that; was she supposed to remind him about that?"Not until I see someone who steals
He moved closer to her with a cold and void expression, his eyes brimming with anger. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she moved back her pace in fright. She bit her lips, regretting why she asked him. He glared at her eyes. He wanted to scare the life out of her, but he found himself admiring her beauty instead. He didn't know what came over him; he wanted to bawl at her, but he couldn't as he slowly lost his voice with some desperation built in him. Then the word revenge pops up in his brain, bringing in some sparkles."Who are you?" He asked, and they were filled with confusion. Why is he asking who she is? "I am Nathaniel," she replied, her voice stripping off her throat. Herald wanted to laugh but couldn't; she never imagined Nathaniel would answer his question, and moreover, a question deserves an answer. He asked a question, and she gave him the right answer."Who told you I am not aware you are Nathaniel? Whenever I ask you who you are, you reply by saying you are my slave.
Author POV"Why are you always like this? You know I cannot fall for her. She's just my slave," he said, trying to act cold but ending up losing his voice. "I got it; that's unlike you. Just accept it already; you are in love with her," the Herald said, smiling."Can you cut the crap? I said I didn't love her. She's my enemy's daughter. I hate her a lot. I can't imagine seeing her face every day; it makes me mad." He said angrily, running his hand through his head. Herald chuckled dryly.",I wish you could see the sweet side of her. I am sure you won't regret this. You know I have choices when it comes to ladies, but this one is different. Everything about her made me wish I was the one to get married to her, then I would have treated her with all the affection in this life. Nathaniel doesn't deserve all this. The sooner you realize, the better for you," Herald advice."Didn't you say you weren't in love with her?" he asked, glaring dangerously at him."You can go to hell all I care;
Khalid POVI didn't know the reason why she went inside with Michelle; I wanted to know, but I couldn't bring myself to ask her that. So I just decided to keep quiet about it. I can't always cause nuisance every time. I don't really think it's something I will need to know. If I were supposed to know, I am sure she would tell me. Flashback"Khalid, thank goodness you are here." She shouted, and I scoffed. "What's up, Michelle? Where's Aunty?" I asked after her mom. "Mum is with Nathaniel, she had refused to eat because she got scolded by her father. Mum is trying to persuade her, can you please help her?" she asked, holding my hand. I was shocked to hear that. "I am here now; she will be fine.Let's go to her room," I replied, and we both ran to Nathaniel's room. She was crying on Michelle's mother leg. "Why are you not my mother? Those people really bad? How could they be my parents? "She cried and hugged her tightly. I looked at her with some pity. Then I wonder why I was pitying
Author POV"There’s nothing, we aren’t just a good term." Nathanial tried to cover up again, but Michelle didn’t believe her. "It’s obvious you are lying, how much lies are you going to tell. Common what’s going on" She asked holding her shoulder. She chuckled staring at her. "I am in a total mess, Michelle," she said with teary eyes."What is that? Stop scaring me," she asked, putting on a sad face. She explained everything to her. She felt really bad for her. "This is so bad, you are going through a lot. I wish I could bear this pain with you. I am sorry, sis. I promised to always be there for you." But I couldn’t even see your pain, but Khalid never leaves any trace. "He was even nice to me down there; why is he doing all this?" she said, trying to hold back her tears. "Common, you don’t have to blame yourself; this isn’t your fault at all, infact, and you are such a nice person..So stop blaming yourself—this is my parent's fault; maybe it was a mistake choosing them as my pare
Author POV"This is my time; tonight I will be with him." I will not invite Herald, as he asked. I want to be alone with him so I can make sure he's not falling for her. I can't lose the man I have loved for the past ten years to an enemy's daughter. "I don't mind if they die, what matters is that Khalid will be mine no matter what," Jenny thought and smiled. "Let me see you out," Khalid said, and he saw her out to the garage. *****Nathaniel room "I had the feeling that Jenny was up to no good, and I was right. I confirmed that today. What did she think—that she could take Khalid away from me? Not possible. I will go against anyone just for him. "My happiness lies in him, and I will make sure that wasn't taken away," Nathaniel growled, pacing back and forth in her room. Her phone beeped, and she checked the caller ID. She picked it up immediately. "Star girl, what's up?" Herald said from the other end of the line with an imaginary smile. Nathaniel couldn't control herself and la
Khalid POVI was still thinking of how to tell Nathaniel about the party, but I don't think I can do that. So, I passed a call across to Herald, but he refused to help me and told me to do that myself. I am the husband, right? Why am I being shy to ask her this? When I can just command her, this guy has really placed me in a very big situation. I will try my best. I kept rummaging on how to do that when I heard Jenny and Nathaniel's voices from downstairs."Oh, my goodness! Jenny can actually harm her," I thought and rushed to the living room. But it's obvious I was already late, as Nathaniel was coming upstairs with anger written all over her. I haven't seen her in this way before, she really looks like a Lucifer bride with that face. On getting to where I was standing, she stopped and smiled. "I love you, Khalid, with everything, and I will fix this no matter what," she said to me with teary eyes, then gave Jenny an eyeroll before leaving for her room. I was dazed for some minutes,
Nathaniel POVHerald is really a nice guy, despite everything that Khalid has been doing, he always makes sure he finds a way to make me happy, and he already told me not to be scared of him as he won't kill me. He even told me that I shouldn't let him know about my dad's plans to kill him. He said he would certainly take good care of that. "Well, I will advise you not to be too scared of him and to make sure you do your own thing no matter how angry he gets. He can't kill you, so you need to be strong so that when he finally comes around, you won't have to kill yourself. And about your dad trying to kill him? Don't tell him yet, he really hates Edward, and if he finds out, you will also be punished for it. "Clip your mouth, I will handle everything," he said, and I nodded my head in agreement. He scoffed and stood to leave. "Are you going back to them?" I pouted sadly. And he chuckled. "I really wish I could stay with you. But Khalid, he might get mad, and you will be the one to s
Some days laterKhalid POVI was wondering when Nathaniel became so fearless. She doesn't seem to be scared of me the way she was the first time. I tried everything to scare her to death, but she never seems to bother. What's her strength? I glared evilly at her from upstairs. She was busy playing with Helen despite knowing I was still at home. "General market, hold on!" she shouted, and I guess she's winning Helen already. I scoffed, and their attention was drawn to me. I was expecting her to flinch in fear, but she didn't bother and instead sat back. I was so angry and clinched my fist, like I wanted to fight hand-to-hand with my fellow man. "Get out of here now!" I shouted, and Helen opted out immediately. But rather she crossed her legs over each other. What gut is in my house? Who gave her the nerve to do whatever she wanted? "Are you deaf?" I thundered, and she stood up and fidgeted. That's what I wanted, I wanted her to quiver in fear at the mention of my name. "How dare yo
Nathaniel POVAfter Khalid left my room, threatening to kill me, I was so scared, and I feel so bad. He has really changed; I don't know why he keeps on doing this, but he's not the Khalid I love. Everything is missing. To me, he appears more like a devil than an angel. I wanted to speak with someone, maybe that would ease my mind. But I have no one to talk to; if I speak to Michelle, Mr. Edward and his wife will surely find out about this. I don't know why all this is happening to me. But I will rather stay here than go back to that house. I was doing my thinking when a knock came on my door. This time I didn't make the mistake of not asking who it was. "Ma, this is Helen. You are asked to come down for dinner," she said. And the worm In me stood dancing, I could see how happy the news was but I couldn't. "Who asked you to call me?" I found myself asking instead of sliding the door open. She kept quiet at first, and I chose to do the same. "Mr. Herald," she said, "but he also supp
