I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my tie countless times. Tonight was a big night.
"Oh my! you look great honey." my wife, Rhonda, exclaimed, as soon as she walked into the room.
I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"But you need to relax. You're going to be fine." She said as she helped me with my tie.
"I know, I just can't believe they're doing this. I don't feel like I deserve it."
Rhonda smiled and put her hands on my shoulders. "You deserve it, Alex. You've done so much for this community, and it's time they showed their appreciation."
