She sat at the side of the road and found a tissue in her bag she wrapped it around the strap on her sandal and gently put her foot back in it. She didn't think the tissue would last very long, but it did feel better for now. She had to hurry, if they discovered that she was missing, then they would send that huge man out to look for her, and there is no way she could escape from him. Fortunately, she hadn't seen any cars on the road, she had no idea what she would do if she had, there was hardly anywhere to hide—no woods at the side of the road like they had at home, just flat, scrubby grass.
