(Judian's Pov)
With a draggy step, I moved to the door of the sitting room and locked it before heading up to my room. Three steps up the stairs, I felt my head bang so hard. The scene of the heartbreak and rejection from Hudson hit me again, and I cried out, scurrying up to bury myself under my duvet.I hate myself for meeting him for the first time.Slamming the door in frustration, I kicked off my boots and leaped to slump on the bed when I heard a creepy grunt right outside my window. My brows arched, and fear crept in, as it was getting dark already, and I was alone in the house. What was that, then?As my heart thumped louder inside my chest in fear, I remembered I would be a hunter soon and needed to be brave, so I shoved off the fear and bolted to the window, rolled off the curtain and peeped through. I searched around and couldn't see anyone until I looked downwards. My jaw dropped, with shudders running up and down my spine as every part of me stiffened in horror. I couldn't believe my eyes and really thought I was having illusions.Right in front of me was a vampire in long sleeves and a dark hoodie, covering his face and whole body. Even his palms were covered with gloves. He was clasping on to the bar of my window, grunting deeply. He was in intense pain, and that really touched my heart. I should have easily hit his hand holding on to my window bar to let him lose it and fall from the top of the building, but thinking of that made my heart flutter. I could see the hunters roaming around the city searching for him. Before I could take several breaths in thought of what to do next, he pulled up his face, which had been sagged all this while, and on seeing my opened window, he leapt swiftly and dived through, right into my room. I nearly jumped out of my skin as he dived into my room at a speed that was too fast for me to stop him. The blood all over his body smeared my window and also caused a red streak on my shirt when his body got in contact with mine in the process of hopping in.With a sharp turn, I stared at him as he grunted deeply in pain, breaking the arrows stuck in his body with a snap. I recognized those arrows as those which were used by my parents as the pack hunters, and they were specifically made for vampires. The edge was poisoned by a substance made by a witch in our pack. It could not only weaken a vampire but kill them once they aren't treated in 24 hours."Please shut the window, so they won't locate me here!" I heard him growl as he tried to breathe at the same time. From his hair down to his feet, everything was stained with blood. His white hair was smeared with blood and had turned slightly red. That same thing goes for his clothes, which have almost taken the color of his blood as well.He looked so pitiful as he battled for his life; the hood top still covered his face, and as I rested my eyes on him, I couldn't help wondering what he would look like."Do you even have an idea that you will be dead before 24 hours runs out?" As I shut the window, I asked. I'm not sure why I suddenly don't want the pack hunters to track him down. I am the daughter of one, and I should pounce on this vampire here, injecting him with more poisonous substances to get him weaker before calling on the royal warriors to take him to our alpha for execution. But the thought of all that wasn't going down well with me.The man here doesn't seem to be as cruel as I was told the vampires were, or was I the one who was making him appear good in my eyes? If he wasn't badly wounded, would he hesitate before ripping me off my heart? The moment I mentioned he would die, he cringed as the statement struck him so hard that he quickly pulled the hood away and raised his gaze at me for the first time, making our eyes lock. I got frozen instantly.Everything around me vanished, creating an empty world containing just the two of us. His almond eyes were emerald green and wet due to tears, causing them to flick under the light as it pierced into mine, drawing me into its depth; I felt stiffened at the warmth. It seemed to grasp my soul in it. My hands shook as his angelic face drew me in so deeply that I couldn't take my gaze away fromhim. With his concrete jaw and defined cheekbones, he looks flawless; I could notice his bristly brows and hawkish nose, which made him so sexy.My gaze fell on his wet lips, and shudders ran down my spine; he has red-filled lips that are so sensual and inviting to kiss that I felt like wrapping my arm around his neck and plunging my lips into them.I could only stand right here and wonder how sweet his lips could taste.I never believed in love at first sight. I was not going to believe it would ever happen to me, not when Hudson had broken my heart. As cute as Hudson was, I didn't fall for him at first sight. Men hardly attract me with their handsome faces, but this man right in front of me was getting me intoxicated at how alluring he looked."Please, will I really die?" He inquired with a husky voice that sounded right inside my heart, and I couldn't help admiring his tone this time; something was really wrong with me now.I had flinched back to reality, away from my world of admiration and fantasy, only to forget what he asked. I was too busy imagining a lot of things in my mind that I had also forgotten he was injured."Isn't there any way to save my life? I know you're a werewolf who..." He coughed out blood, breathing heavily, and now I couldn't bear standing over there watching him in pain.Whether he was a vampire at that moment or not was what I didn't care to know. This man here is the most handsome creature I have ever seen.Hudson would look ugly beside him.Oh, gosh!My heartbeat accelerated and thudded erratically as I took quick steps closer to him to hastily check his wounds."Please help me and I will pay you back some day," he pleaded, and flashed those beautiful eyes at me again, sending tingles through my skin. I couldn't talk but gulped as I bent to buckle his losen off his sandals."Please take off your shirt," I mumbled, and a deep grunt escaped his lips, making me flash a sharp look at him. His eyes were getting dimmer and I could tell the effect of the poison was becoming stronger."Let me go get the antidote." I found my lips speaking without my brain. I wasn't thinking normally anymore. Saving a vampire would have been something impossible before now; I would have doubted it bluntly with a sneer if someone had ever told me that a moment like now would come.It just seemed so irresistible. I felt like I might lose my mind if he died; this was something so hard for me to understand."Please save my life," he pleaded and held my hand, but I snapped it from his grasp and ran out to get the drug. My heart was fluttering as the spark I felt at his touch was so magical that I had to pull it away. Was this a kind of spell or what? Why can't my brain and body see the fact that he is a vampire and hate him like I should? I mean, as a pack hunter's daughter who will be a hunter soon, I should abhor the vampires who are our enemy so deeply and raw.Yes, I have that hatred for them after hearing the stories my parents fed me about how cruel they treated us in the past, but that man over there isn't among the vampires I hate. He can't just be, no matter how tough I try.Now I can't believe how fast I was running through the hallways to my father's room to get the antidote, which I had seen him buy weeks ago when one of their arrows mistakenly struck my mother during their season of hunting.( Judian’s POV )The door was locked, and I couldn't think twice before kicking it hard, breaking down the hinges; I sped in and saw the pills lying in the cupboard.I picked it up and dashed back, this time faster than my legs could carry me, as I couldn't tell how long he could hold on to the pain since he was struck by more than two arrows. The moment I got into my room, he was lying motionless on the bed, and I felt my heart stop inside my chest as my blood ran cold at the thought that he could be dead already."No!" my voice shrieked through the room as tears stung my eyes with my heart so heavy.I exhaled in relief as I saw him awake, his heart thudding inside his chest; his eyes also opened. I can't believe I was concerned this much.He heard the scream. He saw how I ran over and leant to his face. That had made him smile weakly, displaying his dimples. I had to gulp and act like I never cared that much with a shrug."Take the pills. I can't find any ointment. This will cure yo
( Judian’s POV ) "The other pack hunters will be here tomorrow. Some villagers saw when he leapt into your room; although some also mentioned that he later left strong like he took an antidote to the poisonous arrow, but no one believed that part. Every Pack hunter is out there glad that the vampire gave out himself by leaping into the room of a pack hunter.Judian, do you even know what you have done?" Dad's voice sounded like he was crying; he looked so pained to the core as he said those words, breathing heavily."And we told them that our daughter would have chained the vampire, since our poisoned arrows had badly injured him. It was already midnight, so they had all gone to bed happily, waiting for tomorrow to have him brought to the Alpha for prosecution. Now, how will I tell them that my daughter didn't only free the man, but also offered him the antidote to the poison? making the other ignored information from the villagers true!" my mother sobbed so bitterly, burying her fac
( Judian's POV )The noise outside my room woke me up, forcing me to flutter my heavy eyes with a deep grunt as my entire body ached so badly, from my head down to my legs. The bed seemed so cold and hard, leaving me wondering how possible that could be. I can't understand why I feel so weak and sore, like someone who was beaten overnight. I tried to recall what was going on, but no information was stored in my head; my brain was literally blank.I finally opened my eyes after the noise became louder, and that was when I realized I was lying down on the floor and not on my bed. In a rush, I sprung up as my body shivered at the chills that ran through me. My head was banging so hard that I had to rub my temples to ease it.Why was I sleeping on the floor?I asked myself the question, allowing my eyes scour the entire room, which I recognized as mine; it was then I sighted the dry clots of blood on my bed and window bars, causing everything to come rushing into my head like a tsunami, w
(Judian’s POV )Two of the warriors clamped my hands together and chained them, while the others watched in anger. There was no trace of pity or mercy in their eyes or expression. Instead, it exuded resentment and fury. My parents were in tears, as they held each others. Dad trying to console mom was really painful to watch. If anyone had ever told me a day like this would come, I would have called the person a blunt liar."Walk faster!" I heard one of the warriors yell at me with a hot slap that made my cheek burn in sharp pain. I tried soothing the pain with a palm-rub, but my hands were clasped together, making it impossible to do so and provoking the pain to hurt intensely. They pulled me like a slave, and I was swung into the empty cart so hard that my head hit hard on the wall of it, which was built with hard wood. I felt numb as more pain coursed through my body, causing it to shiver. I started to cry, but lost all strength as the door of the cart was shut, leaving me in the da
(Judian’s POV )"We are wiser than she thought. The witch will expose her secret! " As our gazes met, the Beta stated gruffly, gritting his teeth."I'm eager to find out why she saved the vampire!"My father chipped in under his breath. At just that moment, the witch stomped in, clad in a red and fetish gown with bare feet."You called for me, Alpha?" She bowed low, while I stared at them with a sneer."Check why she saved a vampire that was almost caught by our hunters. We know there must be something fishy." The Alpha stated, and she turned to me sharply, peering into my eyes like she was searching for something in there."It was only out of mercy and pity at how wounded he was," I murmured to the witch, but just then, she screamed in fear, moving back as if she had found something shocking in my face."What is it?" Everybody turned to me like they were just realizing I was in the room, too. Their attention had been on the Alpha Prince all this while. My parents scoffed and rolled their eyes as they moved to their chair where they had left to check on Hudson; the Beta did the same, and I wiped the sweat and tears which were streaming into my eyes with my shoulder as my hands were still shackled like a slave."Are you mad or what? You still had the gut to say that after causing pain to my son!" The Luna growled, breathing heavily as her eyes turned red in rage, that I wondered if she was the same woman with a calm face before now.The Alpha stood up from his throne for the first time since I came here and that made my heart drop into my stomach as I gulped and shiver at his huge body that could be mistaken to a wall, every muscle in his torso seemed to protrude that his royal robe suddenly tightened over him."You want to accept the rejection?" (Blake’s POV)“What mate?" I snapped, trying to sound mean as my brows arched while I peered at my witch mother, who seemed to smile now as she scanned her eyes over the necklace around my neck."There is something you are hiding from me. You have found her" She squinted her eyes and I shrugged, swirling over to the bed to pick up the towel that had dropped on it, ignoring her inquisitive eyes, which were all over me.It has been two days since I met my werewolf mate, and I am forcing my brain to forget her as we have nothing in common, even when her face keeps popping up in my head.I can't fall for anyone. I can recall then, when she would sit with us to eat around the dining table and would smile all to herself without knowing she was doing it. Then she will tell us she was thinking about that man.I can't be doing the same now. Blake, when did you become a fool? It doesn't matter if she dies! I shouldn't care about her, and everything about her should be away from my mind now! What the fuck? "Sir, I am... so... sorry." The maid kept shaking, afraid to lose her life. I was sure she must have seen others drift to their deaths by my vampire fireball because of a mistake they made, but I am in a good mood today, so she is safe."Get out of here now!" I ordered, and she sped away like the wind while I turned back to my food, hissing and grunting to myself. I hope I never fall in love with her. Not even my mother would welcome any werewolf as my mate. Once I inform her she was a werewolf, mom would never let me accept her, not to talk about my father. After some minutes, I was done eatin
The scene of our first meeting was something that felt like a soothing balm. Each time it crossed my heart, I become softhearted and would only feel the urge to smile and wish to see her again. Especially that moment when she ran to get the drug, when she screamed and leaned close to my face to check if I was dead already; also that point when she sat on the stool beside the bed, locking her pretty eyes with mine."You can't kill her, right?" My mother bawled, breaking my world of thoughts as I cringed and pulled my head up to look at them. Both were standing in front of me with rage filled in their eyes like a lake of fire."I can..." My voice dropped out like a gasp, every hair on my body shooting up as I chilled at everything happening. I couldn't believe it, or could I tell what I would do. My parents won't spare her, and I fear what my mother will do next with her magic powers."Blake, when did you turn into a coward? Your sister wouldn't have given that man a chance if he was a
