Chapter 33: Proposal Towards Darkness

Victor fall on to his knees beside Olivia, his hands shaking as he pressed against her wound. Blood leaked through his fingers, warm and sticky, a reminder of how close he had come to losing her.

“Stay with me, Olivia,” he said with his voice cracking with urgency. “You’re not going anywhere!”

Her lips moved, but no sound came out. Her eyes trembled shut, and panic goes through Victor like a wave.

“Damn it!” he roared; his voice echoed room. Turning to his guards who had just entered, he barked, “Secure the area and call the doctor! NOW!”

One of the guards nodded and ran off, while the others formed a protective circle around their boss.

As Olivia’s breathing grew light, Victor lifted her into his arms and carried her toward a hidden corridor that led to his private room. Every step feels like an eternity, his mind racing with thoughts of what might happen if he couldn’t save her.
