By the time I pulled away and pressed my forehead to hers, we were both a little breathless. The corners of her mouth twitched with a smile as her eyes met mine. She looked a little bewildered, like she had no idea what was going on around us. “Did that kiss make you forget your own name, or do I need to keep working on it?” I whispered, smirking at her. “I know it begins with R,” she joked, playing along. “Maybe you could work on it some more later.” I moaned breathlessly. “Definitely. Anyway, let’s go eat, I’m starving.” I pushed away from her and watched as she took a few deep breaths before straightening her shirt and pushing her hair behind her ear, like she was trying to calm herself down too. I followed her into the apartment and into the lounge. DJ was lying on his stomach, toy cars scattered everywhere, a little garage off to one side. His eyes lit up when he spotted me. “Jace! I saved you the red one. Momma wanted it, but I told her it was yours.” “
She pulled her head back, resting her chin on my chest, just looking at me silently for a minute. “Why are you being like this, Jace? Buying DJ things, playing with him, offering to come to the park, and not even being annoyed with me that I had to cancel plans that we made?” she asked, looking a little confused, but very interested in my answer. Gripping the top of her arms, I pulled her higher up my body so our faces were level. “I understand you have a son; it’s different being with a girl that has a readymade family, and I never would have expected this to happen to me in a million years, but I really like you. I really like DJ too, he’s cute. I like spending time with both of you,” I answered, shrugging and not really knowing how to explain it properly. Her face softened as she stroked the side of my face adoringly. But then I had to ruin it… “And I want to fuck you so badly that my dick is actually aching,” I added. She burst out laughing and shook her head
Her hips bucked against my hand as I spoke; her breathing sped so I knew I could push her a lot further. Ashley Danvers certainly got excited by pillow talk! A proud grin stretched across my face because of how sexy my girlfriend was. I was one seriously lucky guy that she didn’t seem to just be a blushing, lay on her back kind of girl. Her body reacted beautifully to my words, so I decided to take it a little further and see just how dirty she was. “As soon as you’re in love with me, I’m going to fuck you from every possible angle. I want to take you hard and fast, and just when you think you’re going to come, I’m going to pull out and kiss my way down your body. I want to taste your climax on my tongue; I want to feel your thighs shake against my shoulders as you ride the waves of pleasure I’m going to give you.” That obviously didn’t scare her. She gasped and jerked her arms, trying to get her hands free. I held her tighter as I pumped my finger inside her slowly, be
In the morning Ashley called me to say that Josh had let them down again and wouldn’t be picking up DJ at all for the rest of the weekend. Apparently, Ashley had already put in a call to Anna who had offered to have DJ for the night at their place, so at least we would still be able to go out tonight. For the day time though, we were going to the park for a picnic with DJ. I headed over to her place just after ten. As soon as she opened the door I could see how upset she was. She was trying not to show me, but her whole posture was different. She was the picture of disappointment, and I could hear the reason why. DJ was crying his heart out in the other room. I groaned and cupped her cheek. It just wasn’t fair for someone as special as her to be disappointed over and over, and it wasn’t fair for a great kid like DJ to have his dad flake out on him all the time. “You alright?” I asked, already knowing the answer was no. She put on a fake smile and nodded. “Sure. Com
“So, where are these rhinos then? You see them from up there, Kid?” I joked, before turning to look at Ashley. But she’d stopped walking, and was just looking at me with a bewildered expression on her face. “You okay?” I asked, a little worried as to why she was looking at me like I’d grown another head. She shook her head slightly as if to clear, and then walked to my side. “Yeah, yeah, I’m good. Rhinos are this way according to the sign.” I nodded, and we started walking in the direction she pointed. I couldn’t help but smile when I felt her hand touch the small of my back before pushing down into the back pocket of my jeans, squeezing my ass lightly. “Ashley, that’s a little presumptuous,” I joked, trying to sound stern. “What’s a sumpt… sumptsons…what did you say again?” DJ asked, his hand moving down slightly, half covering my eyes. “Kid, I can’t see where I’m going, we’re gonna walk into a tree or something,” I stated, shaking my head, trying to move
When we left the zoo, we went straight to Bryson and Anna’s place. DJ was practically bouncing in his seat because he was staying there; he was raving on and on about Bryson letting him play on his ‘puter’. Ashley was telling him over and over to calm down, and that he had to be quiet when he was there because of Cameron. I just smiled the whole time, listening to their exchange while I drove. It was comforting somehow, nice, natural. When we got there, I carried his little overnight bag. “Can I press the floor?” DJ asked, as we got into the elevator. I nodded and lifted him up so he could reach the button, at the same time that Ashley said, “Just Anna’s floor!” Too late. The kid ran his hand across every single button, lighting them all up. “Oh, DJ!” Ashley grumbled. I couldn’t help but burst out laughing and slap the kid a high five. “You know you’re supposed to do that when you get out though, right? Not when you’re in it, you do it just as you’re getting ou
“Grow up, Josh! Seriously, what’s your excuse this time at being caught out? You’re supposed to be working today, so what’s it to be? A fire drill and you had to evacuate, a dirty bomb went off outside your building, a case of cholera going around your work and they sent you all here to wait why they try to find the cause of it?” she asked sarcastically, her voice acidic. He smiled at her, a lopsided smile that told me he’d been here a while and was already half drunk. “You’re funny,” he told her, looking her over again. “And you’re a jerk,” she countered, crossing her arms over her chest, making his eyes drift down to that region. Oh yeah, I need to kill him. Where the fuck is my rifle when I need it? He sighed. “I was working all day. I was supposed to be on until ten, but they let me out early. I finished about an hour ago, and I figured it was too late to call you to come pick him up,” he replied, shrugging as if it was no big deal. She eyed him curiously.
My hand balled into a fist. I was going to kill him. There was no way he was getting anywhere near my girl again, not a chance in hell that I was losing her to this waste of space. I tightened my jaw; I didn’t want to say anything that would make me look bad in front of Ashley, after all, if I killed the father of her child I’m pretty sure that would constitute the end of our relationship. He smiled smugly, probably seeing how his words affected me. The way I saw it, I had two options. One, smile, nod and wish him good luck, and then do everything in my power to make sure I won the ‘competition’. Two, drop Ashley home, follow this guy back to his apartment, slip a bag over his head, drive him out to some dirt track and execute him. Then all I would have to worry about was where to bury the body. Both options had their pros and cons. I was still weighing my options when he spoke, “So then, Neil, why don't you just run along and find yourself someone with less baggage. I
