This was the first Christmas in so many years spent apart from each other. But I guess it was God's Plan. Jacob cooked honey glazed roasted duck, roast vegetables, garlic bread, hot crab curry and salads. Sarah was really ill and slept most of the day. Sarah was up after sleeping almost Twenty four hours, after lunch time. She helped him pack parcels for her family and Jacob dropped of that afternoon at each of their homes.Although they were not in the Christmas spirit due to quarantining, they still had kids. Santa did deliver their presents and she watched Alex and Andrea tear open their presents. ''Wow, Santa gave me a watergun'',Alex said with excitement in his voice. Andrea tore open her pink wrapper,'' HaHa,Alex, My present is better than yours, I have a pink barbie''. They spent almost an hour tearing through presents that was under their small silver tinsel tree. The Covid Grinch stole our christmas this year.Sarah was determined to make it up to them. A
Christmas came and Christmas went. They awaited their test results. Was it going to be positive? Was it going to be negative? The days just dragged on as they waited. Still in quarantine. Still cleaning endlessly, social distancing and wearing masks all day, everyday. All they could do was cook, clean, eat and watch movies. Avoiding visitors. Making excuses. No one wanted to hear that you may have covid. There was stigma attached to it. The numbers of deaths were increasing. The number of people infected were rising. When ever the news came on it was depressing. Even facebook posts were centered around covid 19. Almost every post was a funeral notice, a keep me in prayer post or an educational message about how not to get covid 19.The world was suffering and so was Sarah White. Her symptoms had completely vanished after days of steaming and medication. Drinking ginger milk and cinnamon tea. But they people talked about the infected recovering only to die.So if t
Sarah still felt rather depressed, but she got out of bed ready to give the best vesrion of herself. She smiled as she remembered ''Another day, another morning, I am still alive.Thank you God''.Taking a long shower, she washed her long silky hair. She changed, wrapping her wet hair in a towel and tiptoed down the long passage to the kitchen. She did not want to wake anyone up. Everyone was still fast asleep. It was still early, only 8am.Sarah got busy in the kitchen, humming away as she made fresh pancakes and coffee. As she made the last pankcake,Alex stuck his head out of the door''I smell pankcakes'', with that being said,Andrea was now up. They both raced to the kitchen in their pajamas forgetting to put on their slippers.'' Uh,uh,uh. We do not enter the kitchen without a wash. And were are your slippers?'' Sarah scolded. Both her little monsters ran to their rooms to grab their clothes and have a bath. There were three bathrooms in the house yet they still fou
The year started of in segregation. Everyone video called to wish each other. Emily and her husband with her kids booked out in a fancy hotel.Mr and Mrs Daniels were at home, with Chuck of course. How can we forget him? He was an important member of the Daniel's Family.Nash and Nat had pursponed their trip to hempshire due to covid. Edith and her girls were at their home. And Sarah,Jacob and their kids were at home.Having a new place , they thought would be awesome, having friends and family over, entertaining guests but it was not all sunshine and flowers.School would be starting soon and Sarah's phone beeped. It was Mrs Jones, Alex and Andrea's daycare teacher.''Hi.How are you? She sounded rather dull o the phone. ''I am good thank you, how are you?'' Sarah asked.''Not so good. We have been in contact with a positive person, we need to be tested. Once we are clear I will let you know but for now I will not be able to look after the kids''.Sarah was devestated.
Sarah had reaslised that it was pointless keeping ties with people who is not there for you when you need them the most. She eventually stopped talking to Mrs Daniels, her mother by name only. She had stopped being a mother fifteen years ago. Mr Daniels just didn't see anything change. He was oblivious to everything.Everything!!!!!! From character change, behaviour change, family falling apart, segregation and morals and values going down the drain. Sarah sat thinking almost every day, I feel like an orphan. Maybe I have been for the last fifteen years and just didn't notice. Finally her eyes were opened. She had lived in a dream world for so long. Her head hurt thinking so much. She sat with deep regret. She should have cut ties with the Daniels the day she was forced into marraige. Was she holding on to broken dreams for so long. She should have never let them be apart of her childrens life. Is it too late to cut ties now?Sarah's heart hurt but She knew that
Nash, Nat, Edith and her kids were at Sarah's place on a clear saterday afternoon. The air was crisp with an afternoon chill. They had planned a small sibling get together. Sarah also invited Emily but she was a no show as usual. Probably harbouring some self pity, or maybe just her ladida self. Clearly no one knew and no one cared. Today they were just going to relax, have fun eat and chill out. They all made themselves at home. The kids were all with Nash in the loubge sitting on the couch watching a movie. Jacob loved cooking so he decided to cook on the fire. Nat and Edith started making rotis. Sarah helped Jacob cut up his vegetables for the curry. Jacob always peeled potatoes badly. Half the potato flesh would be peeled off if he were to peel a potato. Jacob opened up his white plastic table and took it outside, laying all his cleaned vegetables and spices to cook. He took the dish with his washed chicken peices outside with him. After setting up his wood on the tray unde
Edith could not help herself anymore. After the weekend she tackled their mother about the truth. Nothing was denied, but she questioned who told her.Sarah read the messages that Edith sent. They were straight forward. But she always had the feeling everyone assumed that she was the influence.Yes indeed, they did s**t to her, but no, she didn't walk around poisoning people against her mother. She clearly stopped giving two hoots a long time ago.Yes, it hurt but she was not going to let it cause a negative effect in her life. She had her own life. Her own family and no one was going to mess that up.After many messages, Edith clearly got the message that she was a write off from the family. WOW, that hurt her so much, but she held a brave face.Like which wife is not happy that her children have spent time with their dad. The massages she sent Edith was spiteful. They were mean.Well, it was now Ediths turn to feel the reject and
Sarah's days went on as usual. Although she now suffered from insomnia due to this whole saga, she was otherwise well.Everyday she would ask herself:''Was telling the truth so wrong? Was wanting the best for her father wrong? Did he actually know and chose to not see it? Should they have just said nothing and continued going there like fools? Did Chuck have no concience? Does her mother have no concience? What did they expect to happen when they asked the obvious questions? Why is it when we ask questions, it now becomes a sign of disrespect to elders? ''Sometimes in life you need to cut away from the people who bring about negative energy. You need to make room for the positive light. They had messaged Mr Daniels for his birthday, they even tried to call but his phone was off. He had really cut ties with them. All in the name of love. A love that was his no more. A love that he probably did not have from the very beginning. A love that was one sided.
