CHAPTER 82: JEALOUSY

I attempted to distract myself with work.

Assigned tasks by Michael left me physically present but mentally adrift, pushing Mr. Allen's patience to the limit.

My focus wavered, thoughts drifting aimlessly, causing delays and frustrations. Despite my efforts to stay engaged, distractions clouded my productivity, straining myself from working with my head straight.

When I reported to Michael, I felt intimidated.

I wanted to tell him what makes me feel this way, but something held me back from expressing myself.

The fear of his reaction, the uncertainty of his understanding, and the weight of my emotions all combined to create a barrier between my thoughts and my words.

Maybe I'll get to the point where I could tell him what I got to say. I just wish that it wasn't too kate.

"Amber hates you," Karen whispered, clearly referring to Amber with a glance.

I just shrugged, asking for a drink to calm my stress.

"And I heard her cursing you out to death when she tried to confront you,"
