Part Thirty-Nine

We arrived at the reception hall thirty minutes later, which was held at the hotel. Everything looked amazing and there were more cheers as Adara and I walked inside. We sat down at our table as James grabbed a microphone and dragged a chair to the middle of the dance floor. I groaned and Adara looked at me.

“Are you okay? Is this from taking my pain? You shouldn’t have done that!”

“No, James is going to make a speech.” I laughed and Adara groaned too. It had taken me just minutes to recover from taking her pain.

James got up on the chair and smiled wickedly as he looked at me. “I’ve known Kiran my whole life. We got into trouble together and we’ve gotten out of trouble together. You’re my brother, in every meaning of the word and I love you with my whole heart. Adara, we haven’t always seen eye to eye but Kiran couldn’t have chosen a better woman to marry. May your life together be filled with happiness, health and lots of broken beds.”
