Alpha's Aura

I felt my heart break anew. I didn't show it. I bit down on my cheek to prevent myself from crying out. Chosen mate? What does that even mean? What am I, if she is his chosen mate?

I looked at her again "If she is the chosen mate to the Alpha then what am I to him?"

Her creased face gazed up at me "You are his true mate. Our Luna."

I don't understand. Are the two supposed to be different?

Seeing the unsettled look on my face she sets to explain "Normally a chosen mate is a mate that is provided by the council of the elders, parents, or close partners of the Apha when he doesn't find his mate and most often he chooses this mate himself. But it only happens when the Alpha stays a long time without finding his true mate and that was the case with our present Alpha" she looked down her laps making me notice she was still on the ground.

"Stand up, Jewel you are not a slave," I said despairingly, beginning to understand everything she was saying.

That means h
