“Did he not come to see you?” Lindy asked.

Jinny shook her head. “After I was hit, I was afraid he’d be left waiting, so I called him on the way to the hospital. He told me to take good care of myself and that he would come to see me later. But he never came.”

“He’s probably just busy.” Sonnet comforted her.

Lindy, however, sneered. “Too busy to see her? If he wanted to come, he would’ve found the time.”

Although Matteo said that he would come visit Jinny, he never did. Hence, because of this, Lindy frequently complained to Sonnet about Matteo.

When Sonnet thought of Matteo’s usual courteous manner, she had a strange feeling in her heart, as if there was some reason behind it.
