Sonnet immediately asked, “Have you had dinner?”

“Mom’s too busy. She’s always working overtime, and our grandmother went home to take care of our grandaunt, so we haven’t eaten yet,” Jaybie said pitifully.

“Oh my, you poor children! Come, eat with us.” Before Sonnet could even say anything, Mrs. Wilson instantly took pity on them. She took it upon herself to serve them some food.

Sonnet’s heart twisted in her chest.

He was her son, but he had to call her Aunty in front of everyone else. It was all her fault. It was because she could not earn enough money on her own that she had to lie and swindle like this.

Maxwell copied Sonnet and gave Lune a piece of meat as well. “Here, Lune. Eat up!”
