Maxwell’s heartbeat thumped loudly. He tried his best to remain calm. “My name is Johnson Yates.”

Yates was his mother’s last name, and Johnson was similar to Sonnet’s. His name was a combination of the names of the two most important women in his life.

“Johnson…Yates…” Sonnet nodded. “It’s a nice name.”

She waved at him and bid him farewell. Before leaving, she even closed the door for him carefully. Maxwell pinched his palm with all his might when the door closed.

She was right in front of him, but he could not touch her. What a torment it was!

He suddenly realized that he had brought this upon himself by moving over!

However, he could not bear to move away!

He threw himself down on the sofa and fiddled with the skin on his face for some time. He then slowly removed the pieces of synthetic skin from his nose, the sides of his face, and the corners of his eyes.
