Maxwell’s face turned cold, and he walked quickly to stand in front of Sonnet. “What are you doing?!”

The leading man was startled when he saw Maxwell, then he showed a surprised expression. “Well, well, if it isn’t my dear cousin. What are you doing here?”

The word ‘cousin’ made Sonnet look at Maxwell.

He took her hand and said to the man, “I’m here to have fun, Micah Brooks. What about you?”

Hearing that this Micah guy’s last name was the same as Maxwell, Sonnet guessed he was probably one of Maxwell’s uncle’s sons.

“If you can come to have fun, why can’t I?” Micah raised his eyebrows and glanced at Maxwell holding Sonnet’s hand. Suddenly, he realized something. “Don’t tell me this beautiful woman is the girl you married?!”

“She’s my wife!” Maxwell replied loudly.

Micah clicked his tongue with a regretful expression. “Such a beautiful woman, but she married a fool. What a pity!”

“Please show some respect when you’re speaking. Who are you calling a fool?” Sonnet rebuked.

She
