Leah's POV

As the sun rises over the rolling hills, a gentle breeze carries the sweet scent of blooming flowers and salty sea water through the air. The sound of roosters crowing and dogs barking filled the tranquil atmosphere of the small port village on the continental side of the bay, where life seemed to move at a slower pace.

Darren parked his bike on the side of the road, and waved at a boy who was staring at us curiously at a distance.

"Come here." Darren prompted him.

The boy hesitated and shifted back a bit.

"You can touch my bike if you want." Darren winked at him and smiled.

The boy ran forward and stretched out his tiny hand, stroking the leather surface of the bike.

"Can you keep an eye on my bike? I'll go to the island and come back later," Darren said.

The boy stared at Darren with a frown. Then, he turned his head toward me, stretching out his arms.

"Do you want a hug from me?" I melted.

The boy tiptoed to stretch out his arms toward me even higher.

Leah's POV "It's the jury's call," I said. "He has murdered more than 300 girls. I don't think they will ever exile him." "So... are they going to sentence him to death?" Uma asked. "There's a possibility," I said. "Do you know where her body is?" Uma asked. I shook my head and said, "Not really. He cremated the bodies. But we can still put him on trial because he kept a catalog of all the girls he had killed." "Catalog? You mean he killed my daughter and he kept her picture, so he can take it out and look at it anytime he likes, so he can kill her again in his fucking twisted mind?!" Uma raised her voice and smashed the teacup on the table. Finally, she let it out. "He's a sick old bastard, Uma. He will rot in hell." I held Uma's hands and said. "I don't know anything about the world after death, Miss Lewyn. The only thing I care about is this life." Uma said. Then, she suddenly grabbed my hand and said, "Miss Lewyn, you must have known someone. Can you pull some strings to

Leah's POV "Chief, he's from the Eagle Tail Pack. They are the most powerful pack in the South. We can't mess up with them. Alph Dire would be mad at us." A soldier pulled the sleeves of the head soldier and said in a quiet voice. The head soldier thought for a while, looking at Darren, and said, "You can keep your car, kid. But do not show up again on Mediland again." "Or what?" Darren tilted his head and asked. The head soldier was about to walk away, but he stopped and turned toward Darren. Just when I thought the head soldier was about to jump at Darren and start a fight, a deep, velvet voice appeared from outside - "Dylan! I haven't seen you for a really long time!" A tall, muscular young man walked into the room. His tanned skin gleamed with sweat and his muscles bulged with a powerful force to be reckoned with. He was wearing a rugged black T-shirt with the logo of a running dog. On the back of his shirt, I saw a line of printed words - "Grey Hound Delivery". "What's u

Leah's POV "Are you sure you want to go inside, officer? It's dead fish inside and it smells awful." It's Damian's voice. "Open the door, kid. Don't make me tear your car apart." The voice said. "Sure, right away, officer." Damian started unlocking the door. Just when the last bolt lock was unlocked, I heard a loud scream in the distance. "She's here! We've found the assassin! All units! Come here right now!" A voice shouted. All the soldiers started to run in the same direction. Damian jumped into the driver's seat. The van shot out like a spring, running over the barricades on the road. I had to pull the door back before all the baskets of oysters fell off the van. Darren peaked from the gap in the curtain and I could tell his pupils dilate. "What's going on?" I frowned and asked. "Nothing," Darren said. He quickly stood up and took out his bike from the corner of the van. "What are you doing?" I asked. I had a really bad feeling about what he was going to do. "Sorry, Lea

Leah's POV I opened my eyes and saw Finn walking away from me. Looking at his back, I felt that my heart was shuttered into thousands of pieces. I wanted to call him back, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out. I curled up and started to cough, gliding down to the floor. Jalin came in and found me curling on the floor. He rushed forward and held me up. "My Goddess, Leah. You're burning like a stove. What happened?" Jalin said. I didn't say anything but pressed my face against Jalin's chest, starting to cry out. "What the fuck are you looking at, Farrow?! Call Dr. Monk!" Jalin shouted. That was the last thing I heard when I passed out into oblivion. Jalin's POV "What happened to Leah?!" Lucian's voice was so loud that I didn't even have to put him on the speaker. "She's fine. She caught a bad cold and there was some remaining fluid in her chest. It triggered mild pneumonia..." I said. "Pneumonia?! Is she dying?!" Lucian shouted. I love Lycans. They're so adorable. T

Leah's POV "Leah, wake up." I heard a voice in oblivion. I lifted my arms to cover my eyes. "Leah..." The voice called my name again. "Finn..." I mumbled. I stretched out my arms toward the source of the voice. A pair of hands held my arms. They felt warm. No, they weren't Finn's hands, which were always cold. I opened my eyes and saw the blurry figure of Lucian sitting next to my bed. He placed his hand over my forehead and gently said, "Leah, I'm here. You don't have a temperature anymore. That's great." "Water..." I whispered. My throat was burning. A cup of water appeared in my sight. It was Jalin who was holding it. Lucian held my back and added a pillow behind my back, so I could sit upright. I turned my head away to avoid seeing Jalin. I heard Jalin's voice - "Leah, I know you're mad at me, but..." "Why didn't you hire Finn? Why did you ask him to work for Lucas?" I took a sip of water and said impatiently. Jalin cleared his voice and said, "There are some techn

Leah's POV As I walked into the headquarters, I saw Laura arguing with Ava in the lobby. "Are you deaf? I've already told you, you can't see Miss Lewyn today!" Laura said in a cold voice. "I need to see her right now!" Ava stomped her feet and said. "What's the situation here?" I approached them and asked. "Aha, great. You're here!" Ava leered at me and shoved a folder into my face. "Here, take this. This is the contract of the old Trafold Hippodrome project. Alpha Kyle is arrested and there's chaos in Moonhowlers Pack. You need to take this opportunity to seal the deal. All you have to do is to sign this contract." I ignored her and walked into the elevator. Ava followed me into the elevator and said eagerly, "Come on, Leah. Don't be so stupid. You can sleep with Lucian and get what you want. But do you think that you can depend on him forever? You need to prove yourself worthy in business. That's the only way for an aspiring girl to stand in this line of work." "Aspiring? Inte

Leah's POV My heart was pounding like crazy. I had a bad feeling about this. Troy wasn't around and Laura was in her office. If someone sneaked into this SPA room and tried to assault me, nobody would find out. I stood up from the Jacuzzi and tried to grab my clothes, but I got lightheaded because I stood up too fast. Just when I was about to faint, a pair of hands grabbed my waist and caught me. I heard a familiar voice with a French accent- "Désolé, Mademoiselle Lewyn... I'm so sorry for the interruption..." "Gaspard?" I asked. Gaspard Laflamme. The tailor. Why is he here? I thought to myself. "Oui! Miss Lewyn. I'm..." The glowing light from the window illuminated the chiseled feature of the handsome young tailor. He looked awkward and embarrassed because I was completely naked. He pulled a towel and wrapped me up. "I'm sorry, Miss Lewyn... I came here to bring you the dress for tonight's Grand Ball. I got lost again. Everything here is big and you're like a princess who's

Leah's POV"Oh, in that case, I must have remembered it incorrectly," I lowered my head and stared at him in his eyes. "Memory is a very interesting thing. Do you have the feeling that when you meet someone for the first time, you feel like you've known this person for your entire life?""I'm just a humble tailor, Miss Lewyn. I know nothing about memory and life," Gaspard replied, gently stroking the hem up above my knees and pinning it on the belt beneath my waistline. I suddenly felt a wave of warmth spreading from my loins all over my body. It was like my whole body was ignited.

Leah's POVI despise the darkness. Ever since I was a little girl, I've had a phobia of dark, narrow places.“Leah, are you okay?” Finn turned back, concern etched on his face."I... I don't know, Finn. Something's wrong," I whispered, feeling light-headed and disoriented."Can you walk? Do you need me to carry you?" he asked, already moving towards me. Before I could respond, he had scooped me up and slung me over his back.At that moment, the world spun chaotically around me."Hang in there," Finn urged, picking up his pace. "We’ll be there soon."Even as my head swam, my mind raced uncontrollably. Anxiety gripped me, and I couldn't shake it off. Was it because of the pregnancy? I didn't know. I had never felt anything like this before, but then again, I had never been in such a dire situation either. My breathing grew labored, and I clenched my fists. Finn noticed and reassured me, “We’re almost there, Leah. Stay with me.”I shut my eyes tightly. I had never felt so vulnerable and

Gean's POVMy life is nothing short of tragic. I think that’s a fair assessment. Loving men is apparently a capital offense in our pack. They shunned me like I was a plague-ridden rat, disregarding every talent I had to offer. But I’m a problem solver. I work with diverse clients, providing them expert solutions. To truly excel, you need a personal touch and influential connections. And what could be more influential than a prodigal son from a Lycan family?I met Leo during his time in medical school. He was as queer as a three-dollar bill back then and convinced he had some mysterious ailment. He’d lock himself away in the lab for weeks, only to emerge with a new potion, claiming he’d discovered the cure. He’d down it and promptly pass out, only to wake up queerer than ever.It took a lot of persuading to convince him that there was nothing wrong with us. I can be very persuasive, if you catch my drift. One morning, he woke up in my arms and said, “Gean, I think I’ve found my solutio

"You'll hate me for a while. But eventually, you'll make peace with it. Men come and go, but you're stuck with me.""You're impossible! He's the father of my baby!" I shouted. "You will make my baby fatherless!"At that moment, Finn shifted into human form. He picked up the clothes from the ground and put them on piece by piece. As he dressed, he said, "Leah, I know you're there. I know you can hear me. You deserve the truth, and now I'm telling you. He was just a teenager back then. He set the bridge ablaze and was later sent to rehab by his father, the late Alpha Dire. The past was a jumble of fragmented events, impossible to piece together fully."The next time I saw Finn was at the slave market," Sak went on. "I recognized him immediately because of the scars on his chest. I bought him and took him home, giving him food and shelter. "I want you. Right here, right now.""Finn, we need to talk," I said, my voice wavering.Finn roared, his hands gripping my shoulders with a fierce, almost desperate strength. "I don't want to talk," he snarled. "I want you to take off your clothes right now. Don’t make me do it for you. You're not the Lycan King's daughter to me. You're my woman. And I want my woman to obey..."I didn't wait for him to finish. Don't ever set foot in my pack again."Josephine lifted her head, defiant. "There won't be a next time, Alpha Lucas."After she left, I felt a gnawing unease settle deep within me. Why did Josephine's visit bother me so much? Perhaps it was because she was pregnant.I needed to be with Leah. The doctor's orders be damned—I had to go to her now.Just as I was about to leave, Gean Lee walked back in, casually wiping his hands with a handkerchief, as calm as ever."So?" I demanded."His Highness Leonard is asleep now," he said, placing a small, switch-like device on the table."And what's that?" I asked, frowning."It's a microchip. He had it implanted under his skin to communicate with his prototype soldier

Lucas' POV"This is Gean Lee. He's Leah's assistant," Jorah introduced him.I sized Gean up, feeling an unexpected wave of discomfort. It unsettled me that Leah worked so closely with someone who looked this good."Alpha Lucas, it's a pleasure to finally meet you," Gean said, bowing slightly."I need you to talk to a deranged telepathic prince," I explained. "He’s imprisoned, yet he’s still controlling other werewolves. I need you to get him to stop without hurting him, since the King plans to deal with his mind later.""Is that all, Alpha Lucas?" Gean asked, his voice soothing. I began to see why Leah liked having him around. There was something calming about him."No, there's one more thing. I want you to resign from UniHeal and come work for me."Gean remained unflustered. "One thing at a time, Alpha Lucas," he said with another bow before walking away.Jorah's annoyance was evident once Gean had left. "You can't just take everyone away from Miss Lewyn and make them work for you."
