She broke into tears.

“The day my mom decided to report all what they had been doing to me, she was arrested and shot dead the following morning in prison.”

“Ahhh–” Adrian shivered, tightening his fist. Even as a very strong man, stories like this often got his emotional resistance down. He was trying hard to control the tears in his eyes, if he didn't, he would spill them out.
