Chapter 190

Estella’s POV

Everyone in here started to get desperate. We grabbed the oars, trying to steer ourselves away from the menacing branches that claw at us like skeletal hands.

The sound of snapping wood echoes through the air as a submerged branch strikes the hull. The boat tilted dangerously, threatening to capsize. We clung to each other, our cries for help swallowed by the silence of the creek.

Time slowed to a crawl as the submarine steadied on the edge of disaster. In a final desperate act, the sailor manages to sail the submarine against the resisting force of the oceans, halting our descent into the dark waters.
