Kimberly:

My heart pounded thunderously in my ears as I struggled to break free from Mary's iron grip.

"Stop struggling, you're wasting your time. And stop calling for your cousin, she's nowhere near here," he growled, tightening his hold.

Ignoring him, I yelled Becca's name at the top of my lungs, my vocal cords stretched to their limit.

Mary spun me around and grabbed me by the neck. "Shut up and stop struggling. You're only wasting your energy. There's nobody here for miles. Besides, your cousin wouldn't come even if she heard you..." His soulless eyes mocked me as they bored into mine.
