"You're really going to sue us, Ms. Fabian? As far as I know, you need me in this company. This is nothing without my presence."
I was fascinated by the words of one of those stockholders who betrayed our trust and sabotaged us by giving our blueprints to our competitors and by holding most of the company's money in their own pockets.
What a move.
"Look, Mr. Enriquez. This company doesn't need someone like you. You may be one of the billionaires out there, but your name is not known as mine. We both know that. Don't make table turns, sir. You are the one crawling to be here inside of my company, to be known and acknowledged by others, and so on to your company. Does it sound right?" I mimicked.
His jaw clenched in an instant. I saw that coming, and I want more of it. I love it when I make them feel like they want to kill me. I wanted it when I saw how they wanted me out of this company. What a pathetic human being. They couldn't do that shit when my dad and sister were holding this legacy, but when I was the one who pointed to be seated in the CEO's seat, the true colors of these criminals were blowing in the air im mensely.
"What do you know about this business, Ms.? Without us, do you think you can save this company? You'll just go dig your own business into a grave." One's groin. Mr. Pablo.
I look at him directly in the eyes. He was raging mad but still holding it behind those deadly stares he was giving me.
I crossed my legs and tapped my fingers on the desk. We're in the conference room. I called an emergency meeting, which is why all the stockholders were here inside. I'm surrounded by people who I can trust and those who I can't. I gaze at them all; they are all looking at me too, waiting for the next word I will say. I chuckled and fixed my eyes on Mr. Pablo."I'm a Fabian, Mr. Pablo, in case you forgot." I smirked. "My surname can make it to the top without your help. My name is more known than yours in this field. I can even make you crawl your ass back when I want to, don't you think of that?"
"You're so full of yourself." That's it. Pablo, who keeps sabotaging my projects, speaks up again. "Does it hurt you, Mr. Pablo? Does the truth really hurt?" I faced him seriously. I rubbed my brows and gave him a sharp look. "I will make sure that I'm going to get what I want from you, Mr. Pablo. I will assure you that you'll bend your knees in front of me, begging for your luxury life to be back. It will be so good in my eyes; just wait and watch how I move this time." I then winked.I rolled my eyes at them and closed my laptop. I stood up, fiercer.
"I call this meeting to an end," I said as my secretary assisted me to the door. I once again looked at Mr. Pablo and smirked at him. "See you at your worst, Mr. Pablo."After I left the conference room, I sighed heavily. Only the sound of my heels could be heard in the entire hallway. I slowly closed my eyes and felt my senses. Those two need to lose time in this company. I don't care what they give me in return because I can make sure that I will get all their wealth.
I quickly opened my office and threw myself on my couch. I've been like this for days. For several days, my head has been constantly hurting. I couldn't go check up because I had so much on my mind; I didn't have time for that.
"Ms. Amira? Are you alright?" I heard my secretary's voice.
I opened my eyes and looked at her.
"Set me an oppoinment to Kuya Morgan later on, Francine. And please keep in mind that if my sister visited me without me knowing, inform me immediately."
She quickly nodded, and I signaled for her to go out first.
Ever since I showed up at my sister's house, her sudden visits to the company became frequent. I'm just thankful that every time she visits here, I'm either in a meeting or out to meet up with some of our clients.
I know that she is catching me. And because I act more cautiously, I know what to do. I won't let her worry about me anymore. I'm old enough to be taken care of by her anyway.
I composed myself and went back to my table. I opened some files about the robbery that those two leads in this company committed. It's clean work, and I'm impressed because I can't find anything dirty with the data on money from contracts we handle. It was such a smooth kind of robbery.
I smirked and sent it to my Kuya Morgan and Kuya Sébastien. They are best at handling this business. They guided me, and mostly, they supported me in everything I wanted to do.I was in the middle of preparing documents that I could give to the court against those two when my phone grabbed my attention. I first read who the caller was, and when I saw it was Zari, I answered it.
"What do you want, Zari?" I asked her, bored. I could hear her giggles on the other line; I was just exhausted. I can never really get a sensible answer from her. Laughter always comes first.
"You're wasting every second I gave you, Zarina. What the hell do you want? C'mon, you won't call me if you don't need anything. Speak up or I'll end this call." I warned her.
"This is it; chill out. You're very hot-headed. I just wanted to say hello."
"Because you put laughter first. You know I'm busy," I said, already irritated with her.
"Oh, come on. You have a lot more to give. What did your doctor say? Are you okay?" There was concern in her voice.
I was left speechless. I actually told her that I would check in today before work just so she would allow me to leave the condo. Tch, should I prioritize that matter more than the problem that the two snakes are causing here inside the company?
I cleared my throat and spoke up, "I'm fine, Zari. It's just all about stress, which is why I passed out two times in your sight. That's normal, and I just need a proper nap in the evening. No serious matter."
"You're lying to me, Amira."
"Eh?" I snorted after I said that.
"I know you very well. Your explanation wouldn't be that long if you weren't lying. Even though I have many questions, you only have one answer. Tell me honestly, why didn't you go?"
I scratched the back of my neck. If I can safely lie to my sister and not to Zari, She's a living speaker in my system. She even knows me better than my sister.
"I forgot, Zari. Just tomorrow—"
"I'll come tomorrow to make sure you're really going. You're stubborn, Amira Angelyn. In a little while I'll be the one to report to your Sister Fayra."
"Okay, fine, whatever, Zarina. Whatever." I stared blankly and immediately hung up. I just didn't understand Zari at all sometimes; she's extra caring. I won't be coming home later either, so let her take care of her life.
Later after that, I heard a knock outside. I saw my secretary enter, and on her back were the two people I want to talk to right now.
"You're so fast." I greeted them and signaled to sit down first. "Please get us a snack, Francine." I turned to my secretary.
"I'm not doing anything in the office. This Seb was just meeting with me earlier, so we came together, Kuya Morgan explained.
"Okay, anyway. It's just quick. I just want to give you all the bouncy contracts made by those two snakes." I reached for the heavy papers.
"This is a lot," Kuya Morgan said, shaking his head.
I agree; that's definitely a lot for them. Those asshole. They definitely will be sentenced, and I'll visit them behind bars. I can't wait to see that in no time.
If only I could put them in jail immediately, I might have done it yesterday.
"This is very interesting, huh." Kuya Morgan stated.
"Three companies are in charge of that project. Those two snakes are not included. My company is one, yours is one," pointing out Kuya Morgan's company. "And Gio is the other one."
They were both silent. Both of them fixed their eyes on me and immediately exchanged glances. I already know that. But I didn't give them any reaction anymore.
"Everything we need to prove that they are stealing is already there. I will not interfere with their illegal businesses because I am not interested in them; what is important to me is their issue here in my fund." I'll take the lead.
"We understand; you can reach my friend right away. Just call us if you need anything else. And Amira," I turned to Kuya Sébastien.
I raised an eyebrow at him. He was about to speak when we heard fast running. I stood up and walked towards the door when Francine was startled.
She rushes and almost does not come close to me. I felt a little nervous because I felt different from her.
"T-Tell me," I said weakly. I still supported her and handed her a glass of water that Kuya Sébastien also handed to me.
"M-Mr. Pablo," she said, pointing outside the door. Little by little, her tears started to flow, so I turned to see Kuya Morgan.
They are talking to the same person on the phone. They are probably sending the police here. I looked at Francine again and hugged her to calm her down.
"M-Ms. Amira. My colleagues, someone of them got caught trying to grab Mr. Pablo's gun. M-Ms., he needs to be taken to the hospital immediately; he might run out of blood," Francine tried to say, her grip tightening even more.
"Damn that man! I'm going to kill that bastard!" Kuya Morgan was insulted one after the other and dialed again on the phone.
I kept Francine away from me. I brought her closer to Kuya Seb, and just like that, he suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me next to Francine.
"You're not leaving, Mira." There was a threat in his voice.
"I have a worker down there, Kuya Sébastien. I can't let my staff die here." I said weakly and removed his grip on me, but Kuya Seb was too strong for me.
"You don't need to go outside of this office, Amira. The police will come. We can't bear if something bad happens to you, so stay here, Kuya Morgan insisted.
I shook my head.
"No Kuya," I answered them alternately with emphasis. "That's because of our conversation earlier. It's my fault," I said, and I immediately walked. I even shook my head when they shouted my name at the same time.
"Mira!"
"Amira Angelyn!"
I quickly headed for the elevator to go to the place where Pablo was. If I hold his gun, I will kill him myself. He's really an animal. He is only increasing his sin against me.
I made my way to the CCTV room. I saw my staff there walking quickly and talking to someone on his phone.
I carefully watched the entire clip of the cameras. The only thing I could see was my staff rushing to get out of the building and Kuya Morgan taking care of the wounded. There are three of them, and I don't know how I can forgive myself for what is happening.
"Ma'am, I've already reported it. The emergency exit is now open for all the people who ran," the man who's in charge of this monitor uttered.
I just nodded. "Where is Pablo?"
With the number of cameras and the size of this building, I couldn't see the location of that demon, Pablo. Even here, he is really tormenting me.
"In accounting, Ma'am."
I immediately went outside and took the elevator. I was bored while waiting to land at the accounting station.
I don't feel nervous. My mind and emotions are full of anger right now because of what is happening and how it affects my staff. He has the courage to run amok here in my territory, and I will make sure he doesn't get out unscathed.
Even though I haven't even entered the accounting office yet, I can already see the horror on the faces of my staff. Some of them raised their hands while one of them handed over the folders one after the other. I think I signed a contract with a check attached to it. It will be sent to Kuya Morgan's office later, but it looks like Pablo will find a way to get it himself. Stupid man living in this world.
"You really stood your ground as a thief in my own territory, Pablo."
It quickly faced me. His earlier decent reaction is replaced by a devilish one.
He pointed the gun at me, and I didn't even look at it nervously.
He grinned at me, and out of nowhere, he slapped the end of his gun at me. Immediately, the voices of my staff echoed.
"Shut the fuck up! I'm going to shoot you one by one if you don't shut up!" Pablo shouted.
My lips parted because of the shock and the taste of my own blood. I was holding onto the table shelf because of the strong impact he forced on me.
"Don't scare me and belittle me, Fabian! You embarrassed me in front of everyone as if you could fight me!" He creamed furiously, when I faced him, he quickly came close to me and beat me.
"W-What a bullshit you are, Pablo." I looked at him while wincing.
I didn't prepare for it. I lost myself when he slapped me. I feel like I'm going to lose consciousness, but that's can't be at this moment because I can see the nervousness in my staff.
"You're only adding to the charges I'm going to file against you, Pablo! Your soul is so cruel! You even make innocent people feel sorry for your stupidity!" I yelled at him in annoyance.
"Shut up, Fabian! Ever since you replaced your sister, you've become a big thorn in my throat! So maybe it's better if I forcefully remove you not only from this company but also from the world!" He said, sticking a gun to my senses.
"You can do it?" I challenged, while at the same time signaling to my staff to come out of the emergency exit secretly.
"Are you challenging me, Fabian?" Confronting it with me. He was still holding my hair, while I was also holding his arm that I was trying to take away from me.
His gun is now under my chin, gently tapping while I stare at him.
"You don't know what I can do, Fabian. You don't know anything to fight me."
I grinned. "You say so, Mr. Pablo. If you say so." I grabbed my devilish smile at him and turned around so I could face him. I immediately kneeled in his manhood, causing him to kneel in front of me.
I took that opportunity to get his gun and immediately turned around to get out, but suddenly he grabbed my leg, and I knocked him down as well. I let go of the gun and threw it right into the open door.
I quickly turned to Mr. Pablo and kicked his hand away from me.
"Bet it!" It's cheap for me and easy to stand up.
I quickly crawled and tried to stand up. When I was at the door, I quickly picked up the gun and pointed it at him.
"You're a beast." He grinned.
"I'm born to be." I corrected and chuckled and raised my brows. "I'll hunt you and your family, Mr. Pablo. I will make sure they are in my hands—"
Mr. laughed loudly. Pablo is the one that makes me frown. "I don't even care about that, Ms. Amira. You can kill them for me. I don't care at all. I have money, I have a business, and I have everything. You can't scare me with that, Hija."
I took a step back when he started walking toward me. His smirk made me want to squirm, even if I was the one holding his gun. Damn, I shouldn't be afraid!
I tried to cheer myself up. If I get scared, nothing will happen.
"Come closer, Pablo; I won't hesitate to shoot you." I threaten
"How can you shoot me? It's out of ammunition!" he said, bursting with laughter.
I looked at my gun. I tried to pull the trigger, and my shoulder just fell like that.
"You're a fool, Amira. You're such a big fool! How can you fight me with that if you don't have any ammunition left for me—"
"But I have my bullets for you."
My lips parted when I stopped walking because of that voice. I was still looking at Pablo, but from my side there was an arm blocking me as the hand holding the gun was aimed at Pablo.
"Turn around, Pablo." With his order, the mixture of his faces came together in disbelief and followed the one who ordered.
I was stunned there, silently, when I felt a hand wanting to get the gun out of me. When I handed it without a word, I felt an arm encircling to my waist. In a few seconds, I twirled around, and that's when I gasped when I saw who it was.
"G-Gio —" After saying the name of the person who held me, my mind completely went off.
I was half asleep when I heard the yelling of a familiar voice. It was not clear since I'm adjusting myself to not falling asleep for, I don't know, how many hours. I tried to open my eyes, but damn it, I can't move my eyes. I feel like it was tape or something. I breathe heavily and relax my body and my whole self.I was there, waiting for myself to open my eyes. When I succeed, my head hurts, and that makes me mumble for a bit. When I bit my lower lip out of nowhere, I wanted to shout in pain because it fucking hurt! That's when memories flash back to my mind. The gun. That's a bastard, Pablo. The scene in the company.And... And a man who I last saw.It was Giovanni Rossi. The one and only Giovanni Rossi.I was back to my senses when I heard the voices clearly from where I was. I tried to roam my eyes around and think of this room as somehow familiar to me, but I couldn't name it since I was worried about the voices."I'm going to kill that bastard! Ah, Fayra was fuming mad. She's
"Oh my god! You're still alive! It's been said that when the grass is really bad, death doesn't pick it up!"I winced at Zari's greeting. As soon as I entered the condo, her eyes were wide, obviously from crying, because her arrow eyes got even narrower. The tip of her nose is also red; she looks like a tomato brunette."You're wishing me to be dead?" I tried to act so serious.I saw how she was stunned for a moment with a gasp."Are you stupid? Are you saying that? I'm crying for you, because there might be no more demons in my life. Do you know how worried I was about you when I saw the news on television?! God, I almost flew to you, but I stopped by Isaih! That damn policeman—I almost hit him so hard because of his sudden appearance!"My mouth was wide open when I heard that."You're almost going to me?"She nodded. "I'm driving, crying." She then poked me with her teary, cute eyes. "I was close to your office, and I was about to go down when suddenly someone knocked on my window.
I don't know how many times I've sneezed while listening to my dad's sermon. The anger was obvious, but it was only his concern for me that I understood. Even I, in his situation, would be really uncomfortable if my daughter were to bump into a big person. But dad needs to understand that I'm just doing everything I can so that we don't lose. The company I own is the bridge to our other companies. This is our legacy; it can't sink. I will not let them down."Your safety is still more important to us, Mira. The last time you fought the Salvadorans, you were almost on the brink of death. Your mommy and I can't handle it if that happens again."I reached for my dad's hand and brought it closer to my face. I even reached for Mommy's hand andgently squeezed it."I'll be careful this time, Dad and Mom." I looked at them both. "I will not abandon myself. Kuya Mateo trained me well, didn't he—""But you didn't use it when you and Pablo faced each other." Dad cut me off. I was left speechless.
"Is she still vomiting? I told you, she's really pregnant." I scratched my head and told Kuya Mateo while he was cooking soup for Ate Fayra. He looked at me for a moment. "I asked her right away when you told me that, but your sister just got angry. I almost got stoned when she threw me all of her lotions. She said maybe that's why I thought she was pregnant because she was fat, which is not true." The frustration in my brother-in-law's voice was obvious.I have also heard that sometimes from Ate Fayra. During my two-day stay with them, I witnessed how they argued because of Ate Fayra's assumptions, which were the opposite.Fayra didn't really gain weight; in fact, her body shape got better. She became more mature and curvaceous, which is why when we went out yesterday, Kuya Mateo almost shut down the whole mall because everyone was looking at his wife. I'll never forget the indescribable look on his face yesterday."You don't want to believe it yet. It's like you don't know Faith abo
"I'm not lying. Stop calling me a liar, Zarina. I saw you entering the orphanage; that's why I set myself inside, but then you suddenly disappeared. Maybe I'm just hallucinating; that's why I'm asking you what you're doing or if you really went there. I noticed that you spend most of the day at the destination; it's like you don't want to go a day without setting foot there.""What if I keep going there? Do you need to know the reason? Can't you just shut up?" Zari answered sarcastically to Isaih, who had been scolding my friend."Just asking. Your head is hot right away, isn't it?""Because you're asking questions. You're a skinhead," Zari said, annoyed, before marching up the stairs.I just shook my head. I looked at Isaih, who caressed his chin, and when he felt my eyes on him, he immediately straightened up."Why are you asking what he's doing there? Can't it just be common sense?" There is a hint of sarcasm in my question."I'm just curious. The last time I was on duty and patrol

I can beat the teenager if I'm given time when I get home. This is insane! My every move is limited.Zarina, I don't know how they could allow that girl to do that while I can't be allowed to do what I want in my life."If Giovanni were here, I wouldn't restrict you, Mira. "Can you keep it between us, Kuya? I mean, there's no evidence that Zarina has harmed me before. She's right by my side and helped your team to find me; you told me that when I woke up."My brother-in-law, Mateo, snorted and nodded. "I don't plan to tell anyone else besides you. Isaih, that's the only reason he's here to report something about Zarina. He doesn't know anything, nor does Giovanni; even what happened to you before he didn't know anything."I nodded. Apart from my family and the person who planned what happened then, no one knows. They did everything to keep the truth out of the media. It's something in my favor because, at those times, I was just starting out.I was also afraid because I couldn't face the public and look back on my experience at their hands. Zarina. Can she really do that to me? Of all the people, is she really capable of doing it?I can't believe it, and I never will. We have been under the same roof for a long time, but she has never shown me any harm.
"Don't mind about what happened earlier, Amira. We both know that you work hard to have all this. You deserve this."I ignored Giovanni, who had been easing my mood. He must have noticed how quiet I was earlier. What came out of Ventura's mouth was like a dagger of truth when it hit me. A truth that woke me up. Can I really get here even without their surname, without my sister Fayra? Would I be at the top without a solid last name attached to my name?I smirked slightly in my mind. This is the very first time someone has pointed out my success, and he was able to distract my mind easily.I know my worth. I know that I did all I could to be in this place. I gave and sacrificed myself just to have this title bestowed upon me. I wouldn't be here if I didn't work hard. I may have climbed a ladder to be in this position, but I still work hard to leave a better legacy in the future."You gave blood, sweat, and tears.
