Lily's POV

The silence in the house was suffocating.

After Julian left for work that morning, I sat in the living room, staring blankly at nothing, my mind replaying our fight from earlier.

The words we threw at each other still stung like open wounds.

"Your mother is an old witch."

"At least she cares about me!"

"I don’t think we can fix this."

I had come to him with an apology, with an attempt to fix the damage, but instead, we had made it worse.

I buried my face in my hands, my body trembling.

Tears welled in my eyes again, and this time, I didn’t bother holding them back.

I let them fall, let them soak into my skin, let them pour out all the frustration, the pain, the heartbreak I had been holding in for too long.

Julian had once been my safe place, my home, my partner.

Now, he felt like a stranger.

And the worst part? I didn’t know if I could ever bring him back. Is this how Gina felt when she was married to him?

The day dragged on, each minute feeling heavier t

Gina's POVI was in the kitchen frying some eggs when Alex walked in. The time was still five forty-five in the morning. I didn't expect him to be up by this time. Alex has never been an early riser.“See who's awake by now?” I said when he bent over and kissed my neck.“Morning, Babe. I had to wake up early because I have a lot to do at work. Is breakfast ready yet?”“About to be. Let me jus finish up with these eggs. Go on and freshen up, I'll join you later.” I said.Thirty minutes later, we were at the dining table, munching away. “I'm done, My love. Have a nice day ahead. I'll call you during the day.” We kissed briefly before he left. After we finished eating, Lana cleared up the plates and proceeded to do the dishes. Lana just returned from her break yesterday, after two weeks.I stepped out of the bathroom after having a quick shower when Lana came in.“There is someone in the living room, Ma'am. She is here to see Mr. Alexander” “Alexander? My husband?” I asked, in surprise

Gina's POV Getting back to my room, I dialed Alex's and he picked up at the first ring.“Why didn't you tell me that your sister would be coming?” I blurted out,“Which of my sisters?” He asked, his voice a bit higher than usual.“Which of them did you plan to visit you? So you knew that your sister would be coming and you didn't deem it fit to inform me before hand? Well, for your information…” I was about to tell him of my intention to keep his sister outside but he cut me off.“Hey, can you be calm? At least, hear me out. I didn't know that she would be coming.” “Really? You want me to believe that? How then did she know your home address?” I asked.“I told her. I mean, she asked about it. But I didn't know that she had plansof visiting. Besides, which of my sisters are you talking about? Can you describe her?” “Average in height, has blue eyes, rude, witty and blonde hair with a sharp tongue.” I described.Alex let out a low chuckle, “oh, that must be Anna. She's always like th

Elena's POVI found myself pressed against the cold wall, my ear straining to catch every word spilling from the room. Julian and Lily were arguing again, their voices sharp and raw, cutting through the silence of the hallway like a blade. I had expected it, of course. It was only a matter of time before Lily realized the truth—before she saw Julian for what he really was. The perfect, doting husband act wouldn’t last forever. Not when it was built on nothing but greed and obligation. I smirked to myself as I listened. "You only care about me because of my father's will!" Lily's voice cracked, filled with frustration and pain. I could practically see Julian standing there, his jaw tight, his fists clenched at his sides. He would never admit it outright, but we all knew the truth. And poor, sweet Lily—so naive. So desperate to believe in love. Foolish girl. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t hear the argument dying down. I didn’t hear Julian moving toward t

Elena's POVI stood outside the living room door, my heart hammering against my ribcage as I counted down the seconds in my head. Gina had said the drug would take about thirty minutes to work, but I waited an extra ten, just to be sure. I couldn’t afford for this plan to fail. Not when I was this close to proving what kind of man Julian really was. The tray of biscuits trembled slightly in my hands, but it wasn’t nerves—I knew exactly what I was doing. I had planned this down to the last detail. Taking a deep breath, I turned to the maid standing beside me. She was young, barely older than me, with soft brown eyes and a naïve, eager smile. “Do you remember what we discussed?” I asked her in a low voice. She nodded, her lips curving up slightly in amusement. “Of course, miss.” I glanced toward the living room where Julian sat, flipping lazily through his phone, oblivious to what was about to happen. Then, I caught the maid’s gaze again and gave her a subtle nod. That was he

  • Gina's Revenge: Return of the Heiress    Chapter 64

Elena's POVMorning came, dragging a thick silence with it. The air in the mansion felt heavier, as if last night's storm of emotions had left an unseen fog lingering between the walls. I could hear the occasional creak of footsteps, the hushed murmurs of servants exchanging words they didn’t dare speak aloud. I took my time getting ready, brushing my hair with slow, deliberate strokes while gazing at my reflection. My face betrayed nothing. A satisfied smirk tugged at my lips before I smoothed it away. No, I needed to keep my composure. There was still a role to play. A knock at the door made me sit upright. "Come in," I called, already knowing who it was. Lily stepped inside, her face pale, eyes red-rimmed and swollen. She had barely slept—if she had at all. Her lips trembled slightly, and for a moment, I thought she might break down right in front of me. But she straightened her back, her fingers tightening around the handkerchief she clutched in her hand. "Elena," she

Lily's POVThe morning light streaming through the curtains did nothing to lift the weight pressing against my chest. My head throbbed, my eyes ached from crying, and my heart—God, my heart felt like it had been torn in two. I sat curled up on the edge of my bed, knees drawn to my chest, staring blankly at the wall. The events of last night played over and over in my mind like a nightmare on repeat. Julian. The maid. The way they looked at each other. The way he had barely even tried to explain himself. A fresh wave of nausea rolled through me, and I clenched my hands into fists, trying to suppress the storm of emotions threatening to swallow me whole. Then, the door creaked open. I stiffened but didn’t turn. I already knew who it was. "Lily," Julian’s voice was soft, cautious. I closed my eyes, forcing myself to take a steadying breath. "Can we talk?" he asked hesitantly. I didn’t answer. I heard the door shut, the quiet click of the lock. Then, the sound of his f

Gina's POVThe evening air carried a quiet hum through the house as Alex walked in, his usual confident stride bringing warmth into the space. I had been setting the table for dinner when I heard the front door open, followed by the unmistakable sound of his deep voice. And then, a softer, more excited voice followed—his sister. I turned just in time to see her throw herself into his arms, giggling as he spun her slightly before setting her down. “Anna,” he said with a chuckle, “you’re still as dramatic as ever.” She grinned, flipping her long, sleek blonde hair over her shoulder before turning her gaze toward me. “And this is your must be Gina,” she said, looking me up and down with an assessing expression. I forced a polite smile.Alex wrapped an arm around me. “Anna, this is my wife, Gina. Gina, my very troublesome little sister.” Anna scoffed playfully. “Troublesome? Please. I’m an angel.” Alex smirked. “Angel? That’s a stretch.” I chuckled lightly, though somethi

  • Gina's Revenge: Return of the Heiress    Chapter 67

Gina's POVDinner was quiet, the clinking of cutlery against plates the only sound filling the dining room. Alex sat across from me, his gaze occasionally flickering toward mine with a small, reassuring smile. Despite the chaos Anna had already caused since arriving, he was trying to keep the peace. I, on the other hand, wasn’t in the mood for pretense. Anna had been sleeping all day, completely oblivious to the running of the house. And now, just as we were finishing up dinner, she strolled into the dining room, stretching and yawning dramatically. She didn’t offer so much as a glance in our direction. No greeting. No acknowledgment of our presence. Instead, she plopped herself down in a chair, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “Lana, bring my food,” she ordered, her voice dripping with entitlement. I set my fork down slowly, watching as Lana hesitated, glancing at me for permission before retreating to the kitchen. A few minutes later, the housekeeper returned with a

Mark suggested.I agreed, and we hung up. But as I continued packing, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. I had an ulterior motive, one that I couldn't reveal to Gina or Mark just yet.I finished packing, but instead of taking my suitcase with me, I left it behind. I dressed up in a sun hat and glasses, concealing my face. I made my way to the coffee shop, my heart racing with anticipation. When I arrived, Mark was already there, sitting in a black sedan.

Elena's POV Some Days Earlier***I trudged wearily back to my apartment, my arms laden with groceries from the market. It had been weeks since I'd last spoken to Gina, and I was starting to feel like a ghost, invisible and forgotten. After leaving Lily's house under Gina's instructions, I'd gone into hiding, always looking over my shoulder, waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'd rented a small apartment a few months ago, and it had become my refuge, my sanctuary. But I couldn't stay there all the time. I had to keep moving, had to keep changing my routine, just in case someone was watching. So, some nights I'd lodge in a hotel, paying cash and using a fake name.It was a lonely, isolating existence, but I knew it was necessary. I'd seen what Gina was capable of, and I knew that if she wanted to find me, she would. As I approached my apartment building, I noticed something that made my heart skip a beat. Two men, dressed in black and wearing masks, were snooping around the entrance.

Julian's POVI bent over and ripped the blindfold off the girl's face, my heart pounding. The dim light of the warehouse flickered over her tear-streaked cheeks, but as soon as I got a good look at her, my stomach twisted. It wasn’t Elena. Lily gasped beside me, her hand flying to her mouth. "Julian… this isn’t her."Monica, standing a few feet away, erupted into laughter. "You idiots," she scoffed, shaking her head. "You fools are always being deceived."My jaw clenched so tight I thought my teeth might crack. Rage surged through me like wildfire. I spun around and locked eyes with one of the men who had captured the girl. Without a second thought, I drove my fist into his face, feeling the satisfying crunch of bone against my knuckles. He staggered back, blood dripping from his nose. "You had one job," I snarled. "One fucking job! And you couldn’t even do that right."He groaned, holding his face, but I wasn’t done. I stepped forward, grabbing his shirt, yanking him close. "Go fin

Julian's POV The next evening, we got our confirmation. Bill’s men had eyes on Elena. She had just returned to the apartment after being out all day, and she was alone. “This is it,” Monica said, pacing excitedly. “We need to act now.” I glanced at Lily, but she was avoiding my gaze. “Bill’s men are in position,” I told them. “They can handle the grab. But once we have her, what’s next?” Monica grinned. “We make her talk. One way or another.” Lily shifted uncomfortably but said nothing. I nodded. “Alright. Let’s do this.” I made the call. Lily finally looked up, her eyes wide with unease. “Julian…” I reached for her hand, squeezing it gently. “Trust me.” She hesitated, then gave a small nod. I looked back at the message on my phone. Take her to the warehouse. We’ll be there soon.*******I paced the length of the warehouse, my shoes clicking against the cold concrete floor. We stood under the warm water, letting it wash away the stresses of the day. The dinner, the music, the stars…” I sighed, resting my head against his chest. “It’s perfect.” He pressed a kiss to my temple. “That’s all I wanted—for you to be happy.” I closed my eyes, letting the moment wash over me. As I slid inside, he leaned in slightly, his lips brushing against my temple before he shut the door. The simple touch sent warmth rushing through me. When he got into the driver’s seat, he started the engine and turned to me. “Comfortable?” I nodded. “So where are we going?” He grinned. “Patience, my love.” With that, he pulled out of the parking lot and started driving.
