After I got settled in, I was taken to a much more private court. A table for two was placed in the middle, along with dinner foods.

Kai was already sitting there, and now he’d put on some expensive-looking suit; I honestly wondered what his obsession with clothes was with him.

Forgetting that he could hear my thoughts, he smiled at me, and I remember he must have heard everything.

I took a seat. Some of his men stood at the far end of the court, but there were four of them while the lady who’d attended to me opened the covered food.

The sit of delicious food greeted me; my throat salivated at the sight,
