I still couldn't get over the shock of what the receptionist had told me as I sat in the cab taking me back to my parent's house.

I was late.

That was the only sentence going through my head. If only I had been two months earlier then I would have gotten to meet them before they were moved. There was nothing else I could do to find out the information I needed. The only consoling piece of news was what the lady at the reception desk had told me.

According to her, Drew and his brothers had shown great improvement during the last two months which was why they had been moved to their parent's house and were placed under special care. Unfortunately, they were still in a coma and the doctors weren't too sure when they were going to wake up. Though, it was bad to know that they were still fighting for their life. On the other hand, it was better to know that they weren't dead. That has been a fear which I have hidden inside of me for a long time.

On the contrary, I wondered why the pare

“Hey, princess, You are back,“ my dad greeted me as I and my mom walked inside the living room of our home. He was holding a file and checking out names on it. “Has Mirabel called to confirm her order?" My mom asked him. “Yeah, she called and said she would be needing the muffins by ten tomorrow morning,” Dad replied.“Alright, I will just have to wake up early to make sure hers and the hospital's orders are ready before I leave," she informed him. “Are you going out tomorrow? I asked, surprised. “Yeah, I have this school reunion thing tomorrow.“ My Dad faked a cough. “More like a lets-see-who-has-made-it-more-in life," he muttered under his breath so my mom wouldn't hear but unfortunately she did and sent him a deathly glare. I burst into laughter. “Maman, you know that's the truth. That's basically what school reunions are all about," I said, agreeing with my dad. “Thank the heavens. Someone thinks like me!" My dad exclaimed. “Both of you are just ganging up on me," my mom s

The universe has been doing me lots of favours since I came to France. If I had known that I would have been able to gain so many clues about the Walter brother's predicament. by coming here, I would have done that a long time ago. Well, I believed there was a reason why everything was falling into place now. Maybe if I had made the trip earlier on, I wouldn't have been able to get this close to solving their identity issue. I sat down in the restaurant waiting for Freya Walter to make her appearance. After the reunion party, my mom did me a huge favour by speaking with her. It turned out that their relationship had been rekindled and Freya had been so happy to hear from my mom again. My mom on the other hand had not been able to stop herself from reminiscing about their glory days in school. After explaining my situation to her friend, she decided to speak with me concerning her children. My only prayer at the moment was that she kept her promise to meet up with me and not leave me

With lots of persuasions, I was able to get the information I needed from Mrs Freya. Though she didn't come out outrightly to tell me how Drew and his brothers were fairing, the little information she had disclosed was enough for me to know that they were doing their best to come back to the world. Our meeting at the restaurant had without any doubts ended well. She didn't disclose the reason behind their actions but I believed that wasn't my concern. What I was more interested in was the well-being of Drew and his brothers. I couldn't wait to see the shock on their faces when I got back to New York. I bet it was going to be a big surprise when I dropped the bomb on them that they weren't dead. Only those words were enough to remove the worries that had been weighing me down for the past few days. Often, I sit and ponder on how it was going to be if they disappeared from my life one day because their timespan had expired. But, knowing that they were alive was a relief to me. I didn't

"Hello, Amanda. Are you still there?“ Mrs Freya asked over the phone. I cleared my throat and composed myself all the while thinking of a perfect excuse to give her. “Yes, Mrs Freya, I am with you," I replied. She sighed in relief. “For a moment, I thought I had lost. you,“ she said. “No, you didn't. I was just pondering on what you said,“ I answered. "I know it sounds awkward but my instincts are never wrong. Surprisingly, you know that name which is why I am being suspicious,” she explained. “Well from my research, I found out that your children had stayed away from home for a long time. So, there's no saying that during those times only Calvin and Mason addressed Andrew as Drew,“ I reasoned. There was a mini silence over the line. “Well, that sounds believable but I don't know why I can't come to terms with that explanation," she muttered. "Not my problem, woman," I muttered under my breath. She was a persuasive woman and it would take a while to change her thoughts on some

“Honey, what happened over the phone?“ My mom asked as soon as I ended the call with Mrs Freya. “Oh, nothing much. She just called to inform me that her children were responding to treatment and the doctors believe they would be waking up anytime soon,“ I answered. “Oh, that's great news then. You didn't have to look like the world was ending over the phone?“ She chastised. “You were just seeing things, Maman. I was not looking for anything" like that," I smiled. “Are you sure?" She inquired. “Yes, Maman. Trust me. If there was anything wrong I won't hesitate to tell you and Dad about it,“ I assured her. I felt bad that I had to lie to her but it was something that had to be done.“Alright. What time is your flight tomorrow?“ She asked, changing the topic. “Eight a.m," I answered, thankful that she believed me and moved on from the awkward phone conversation I just had."That's early. You need to eat before leaving," she complained. I laughed. “Yes, Maman. I need to taste your

“Ama!" Cassie yelled my name as soon as I walked out of the airport. She had offered to pick me up when I arrived and I hadn't refused. “Cas," I called, running towards her. We hugged and exchanged pleasantries. “Where the fuck is my muffins?“ She asked immediately. I rolled my eyes. "I knew something was up when you offered to drive me home from the airport,” I stated. “What? There is no such thing," she denied, her eyes diverting everywhere except my face. I gave a questioning eyebrow. "Really?"“Alright, I needed to get my hands directly on the muffins,“ she confessed. “Thought as much," I smiled.“So, can you hand them over now?“ She asked.“Why should I?“ I asked innocently. “Well, because I asked for it and I drove out here to pick you up from the airport,” she replied. “I could have called a cab," I countered, "But you didn't." "That is because a certain someone offered to pick me up not because she was concerned about my well-being but just so she could get her hand

Five Months Later“Surprise!" Cassie shouted as I entered the office. I had a huge smile on my face seeing what she had arranged for me. Some of our co-workers were gathered in my office, courtesy of Cassie. She began singing a happy birthday song for me and the others joined in. Cassie brought a cake towards me and I could not contain the joy I felt. I was happy that she had taken out time to do something so sweet for me. "Thank you, Cas," I muttered, blowing off the candle on the cake. There was a round of applause from everyone gathered in my office as they each wished me a happy birthday before going back to their duty post. "Don't forget the after-party later at eight p. M,“ Cassie informed them. I laughed. “You never cease to amaze me, Cas,“ I said. She smiled. "That's why I am in your life,” she joked. ‘True and I am glad for it,“ I said, hugging her. “Since it's your birthday, I am going to let you have a taste of your cake first before I devour it,“ she notified me I

“You told me it was going to be a small party," I accused Cassie. I had to yell at the top of my voice so she could hear me because the music in the club was loud. After the close of work, I rushed home to change my clothes and get ready for the party that Cassie had set up for me. On getting there, it was different from what I had expected. I thought it was going to be a small gathering of just us and our co-workers but Cassie had gone the extra mile of inviting not just our co-workers but also my old schoolmates and some people that I didn't even know where they came from. Cassie snorted. “Of course, it is," she replied.“Seriously? You call this a small party?“ I asked, gesturing at the people gathered. Cassie had booked a VIP section at the club. How she had been able to do that was beyond my imagination. Not like it mattered to me. What was more important was the fact that I had to socialise with people who I barely talked to anymore. For the love of God, I can't even remembe

“Shit," I muttered under my breath, avoiding eye contact with Leslie. I couldn't believe the kind of shitty luck I had. The very person whom I was trying to avoid, stood before me. There was no way for me to escape so I garnered what was left of my courage to face her. “Hey, Leslie. It's surprising to see you here this early," I said, laughing awkwardly. Leslie gave me a stern look. “Indeed,” She smirked.“Botox bitch," I muttered under my breath. “So, do you need my help with anything?" I asked her. Even though I was late, it was surprising to see her on this floor so early in the morning. There must have been a reason why she had decided to grace us with her unwilling presence. “Well, I needed to check on a particular person to see how far they had gone with the upcoming project. But, imagine my surprise when I found the office empty with neither the assistant nor Editor in sight,“ she said I sighed. “Sorry, I am late. But the reasons are beyond my power. There was nothing I

His hands held the sides of my head as he began thrusting into my mouth, loud grunts leaving his mouth. His head was tipped backwards in pleasure and his moans were driving me nuts with pleasure. There was a feeling of pride in hearing him express the effect I had on him through his moans. It was fuel for me to do more. I took more of him into my mouth as my hands moved down between my legs to pleasure myself.I could feel he was close to the edge and I rubbed myself quickly, hoping to come along with him. Within seconds, he stiffened and I could feel warm liquid slip into my mouth. My orgasm hit me immediately like a wave and my legs shook with pleasure. I took all of his cum, swallowing them and not letting any slip out of my mouth. “God, you are incredible,“ Drew muttered, watching me swallow his cum. I giggled in response, standing up from my kneeling position. “Come here," he commanded, drawing me close to him. He kissed me deeply and senselessly. “You are going to be the deat

I ran the water in my bathroom, hoping to take a quick shower before going to work. The coffee had helped in waking my sleepy bones but I still felt weak. If only I could spend the day indoors and not go to work, I thought. But that would never happen. Leslie would see it as an opportunity to chastise me and give me a query. That was something I wasn't interested in. The water heated up and I quickly jumped into the shower. I squeezed a reasonable amount of my shower gel into my hands and applied it to my body. I didn't bother with washing my hair because that would take more of my time which was the opposite of what I wanted to achieve. After applying the shower gel to my body, I ducked my head under the shower to rinse the soap off. The action prompted me to close my eyes to prevent the soapy water from entering them. I felt a hand wrap around my waist and I jumped in shock thinking an intruder had entered my house. I opened my eyes quickly to see who it was, forgetting that I st

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed. My head felt like there were so many pins attached to it and I couldn't make clear what happened the previous night. I was tired and felt like I had been run over by a truck. Fuck, I am never letting Cassie take me clubbing again. I muttered "I support that idea," Drew chuckled, walking into my room with a cup of coffee. He was shirtless and I got a flashback of what happened the previous night. He had given me the best orgasm of my life and unfortunately I had slept off after it. My body was exhausted. Although the release had helped in calming down the stress hormones raging around me. Drew strolled towards me and handed the coffee to me. I smiled and gladly took it from his hands, muttering a thank you. I blew on the hot coffee and took a sip. God, it was marvelous. I moaned in satisfaction, enjoying how he took great precaution in making it just how I loved it. “God, this is amazing,“ I moaned. Drew chuckled. “Only you think that

Drew leaned forward slowly, eyeing my lips, seeking permission to ask for more. I didn't deny him. I let him indulge just as I was enjoying the indulgence myself. We connected again and continued kissing on my bed. I slid further into the bed drawing him along with me. The kiss altered from rough to slow and sensual. I had to give him credit for being able to bring me to my knees with a kiss. His hands continued to explore my body. They ran the length of my body, cupping my breast and I ached into him. He dragged his hands down my abdomen, then further down my leg before he slowly slid up my thighs leaving a trail of fire in their path. A pool of wetness gathered between my thighs as I waited in anticipation for his hands to get to their destination. I spread my legs further apart giving him the permission he needed to touch me deeply. I have craved this for so long and it was about to happen. I couldn't help but Iean into his touch. A soft moan escaped me as he sucked on my bottom

“Damn, your body is a pure work of art," Drew groaned, his hands roaming around my naked flesh. "I could touch it every day without getting satisfied,“ he added, his hands coming up to knead my breasts. Somewhere along the line, our position on the sofa had changed. I was sitting on his lap, my back resting on his hard chest. I could feel the heat radiating from his skin onto mine. I leaned back into him, tilting my head to the side so he could have full access to my body. I was already far gone and there was no way I was going to be listening to any rational thoughts coming from my brain. I was acting plainly on what my body wanted. I needed to be satisfied after being starved of this pleasure for months. I ground myself on him and he placed a hand on my waist to stop me. I made a sound of disappointment, not liking that he had cut my mission short. “Slow down, babe. We will get there. Let me appreciate your body first," he stated. "I dont need any of that. Just touch me," I dem

I walked into my apartment to meet it the same way I had left it. There was no sign of Drew and I wondered if he had forgotten his way to my place. That can't happen because this was somewhere he and his brothers had stayed for years. Maybe he went to get something I concluded. With that thought in mind I meandered to my bedroom to rid myself of the clothes I was wearing. Cassie had gone all out with my birthday attire. lt was a gift from her and she had pleaded for me to wear it to the party. It was a beautiful black gown that clung to my body and accentuated my curves. I had loved it immediately I saw it but there was no fun if I had just put it on without stressing Cassie a bit. I stumbled into my bedroom, flinging the shoes in the process. Damn, those heels had been killing me all through the night. When I had been dancing with it, I hadn't felt the pain but now that my legs were no longer in motion, it felt like there was no flow of blood to my legs. I quickly stripped myself

"What the fuck is going on?“ I muttered under my breath. There was no way it was possible that Cassie could see Drew. This was the very same person she didn't know was hovering over her head at my office, a few months back. How is it possible that she was able to see him? “Hey, Ama. Aren't you going to introduce him to me?" She asked, giggling.Drew laughed. “Guess, your friend is way more drunk than you," he whistled.“Shut up, Drew. I am trying to process this situation," I barked. He laughed. “What's there to process? Your friend is drunk which explains why she can see me. Or, is there any other explanation?“ He asked.I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, you are right," I agreed. “So, would you do me the honours or I should do it myself?“ He asked, grinning. “What are you talking about?“ I asked, confused. Drew rolled his eyes. "I forgot that you were drunk also," he muttered. I snorted “What? No way. I am not drunk, okay?“ “Yeah, you waving like a flag is an illusion," he replied, sarc

"Umm, hey Cas. I am going to head back home now. I am a bit tired and tipsy from all the alcohol," I told her, catching up to her at the bar. “What? Why? We are just getting started on your birthday party. You can't leave before everyone,“ she said, her eyes heavy with alcohol. “Seriously, Cas. We have been drinking and partying for more than five hours now. The alcohol in you is not making you think logically. I think it's time we call it a night," I told her, taking the drink from her and returning it to the bartender. “Come on, Ama That's my drink," she whined. “No, it isn't. You need to stop and go home now. We have work to do tomorrow and I wouldn't want both of us to be dead drunk before then. Not like we aren't drunk already,“ I said, muttering the last part to myself. “Fine," she grumbled, leaving the bar. “Let me get my purse and say goodbye to the others," she said.“Sure. That sounds fine to me. I need to also thank them for coming,” I said following after her to the V
