Dylan

I dashed into a thick forest after running out of the hospital.

I was not sure why I was doing it, but there was a voice in my head, a constant reminder that the forest was the safest place.

“To the forest is where you should go. No one would harm you there.” Those words sounded in my head.

A mist blurred my vision, and I could only run forward, aimlessly. Waves of intense pain pulsed through my head, as if it was on the verge of splitting open.

I had no idea how long I had run, stumbling forward, until I collapsed onto the chilly forest ground.

The smell of grass and earth seeped into my nostrils, easing my pain. With my eyes becoming even more blurry, I drifted into unconsciousness.

When I woke up again, my eyes met a wooden ceiling and then found myself lying in a wooden bed.

“Where am I?” I asked myself.

There were thin rustling footsteps outside this room. I got off bed and gently pushed the door open. My eyes fell on a woman with her back to me, long, dark green hair fall

Cherry Dylan's missing was no longer a secret eventually. Some of the pack members got to know it.“I know that she is our Luna, but with the sudden disappearance of our Alpha, she would take over and lead us.” “Why are we letting a cursed shifter lead us? We should ask her to abdicate her right as a Luna,” one of the oldest shifters in the pack whispered to her granddaughter. ...I could feel the weight of their accusations. They suffocated me with guilt and heartache. However, I couldn't bring myself to just leave as wished. Not when Dylan was still missing. “Dylan, where are you? When will you come back? I am hanging by a thread here, and I really need you now.” I mumbled as if Dylan was around. He'd be able to hear that.Ignoring the hostile stares and cutting words, I ventured out into the stormy nights, searching for any trace of Dylan.“Dylan! Dylan, please come back!” I shouted, looking around just in case he would suddenly show up. “We need you! The pack is starting to fa

DylanChelsea and I returned to the Starsmoon pack a few days later."Dylan! Thank god you're back!" A young man of my age rushed in after that vicious Luna left. He must be Bert, my competent and loyal Beta Chelsea mentioned before."Hi Bert! Thank you for holding all this together during the absence!" I got out of the bedroom and patted on his shoulders."Not at all. Actually I just came back from the borders after Jason called to tell me what happened back here. Cherry's father is holding it there alone on the borders. By the way, did you see Cherry? I saw her...""How about talking about the pack affairs first, given I've been away quite a few days?" I cut Bert through when he was going to mention Cherry, the name that pissed me."Sure!"I got quite a lot of information that I badly needed in the following hour.“You did? Good for you!” I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Bert started a hotel business.“Yeah, we need a stable business. I don't think we want to be exposed to an

CherryI must have offended Nuu-Chah, and she took my husband, my family and my everything away from me.Those happy moments between Dylan and me were just like a long dream, vanishing before I could savor their pleasant tastes.“What would I tell Fern now? How am I going to explain this to our daughter?” Walking aimlessly along the road in misery, I barely noticed a man appearing before me.“Cherry, it's been a long time,” he said in a voice that sounded oddly familiar.“Do I know you, sir?”“I think you do.” He handed me a business card.My heart raced the minute I saw the name "Karson Blewet" on the card. I couldn't believe that the person standing before me was none other than the master designer I had admired for long.“You're…Karson Blewet?” I uttered in awe, my voice barely above a whisper.“Yes, that's me.” With a smile, the man nodded in affirmation. I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and exhilaration. “Your designs are really something,” Karson continued, his eye

CherryWith Dylan and Chelsea back in the pack house, I had to move to my father's. Bert told me that my father wouldn't be back from the mission on the borders in quite a few days. I settled Fern into bed after getting home, telling her we'd spend a few days at Pops Mike' house because that was what I would do when I missed my dad.“Good night, mommy,” my sweet daughter whispered. “Have a sweet dream, Fern. I love you." The soft glow from the nightlight cast a warm ambiance in the room.As exhaustion tugged at my eyelids, a persistent knock on the door disrupted the peace.“Bert, what are you doing here? It's already late,” I said after opening the door.“You met Dylan, huh?” He looked concerned, his brow furrowing slightly.“Come on in.” I stepped aside, inviting him in. “Cherry, Dylan seemed to have forgotten about you. I want to know what happened on earth over the past couple of days.” Bert spoke with apprehension.“I honestly don't have an idea how it all happened. He fainted

Cherry I couldn't sleep that night. The next morning, I had to be extra careful when driving Fern to school.“What is it, baby? You look like you want to ask something,” I hummed the question to my daughter. “Go on and shoot your questions.”“Mommy, when will daddy be back from the business trip? I miss him.”The smile on my lips froze, and I nearly cursed at her question. “Soon. Daddy will be back in a few weeks. You miss him, huh?” “I do. He is not even calling us. Is he that busy? You must miss daddy too. You don't even design or bring me to the store lately.” She pouted, her voice laced with genuine concern.“I know. Sorry about that, my princess. I promise we'll visit Aunt Maisy in Seattle soon.”“I just think it's so cool that you're a designer, mommy. I've always been proud of you, and I want to be a remarkable designer just like you when I grow up.” Fern looked at me. My emotions welled up as I listened to my daughter's words.“Really? Then, when we visit Aunt Maisy next ti

Cherry I found myself in hospital after regaining consciousness, my vision blurry and my head still throbbing.“Nuu-Chaah, my head hurts so much.”As I tried to make sense of my surroundings, I heard voices, distant at first but clearer later.“Doctor, thank you so much. We will keep in mind everything that you told us.” I struggled to turn my head, finding Bert and Karson talking to the doctor. “We found traces of poison in her body that, if drunk a lot, would cause a miscarriage. Thank Nuu-Chaah that Luna only had a small portion of it.” The doctor glanced in my direction, and our eyes briefly met. Bert looked at me, worried about what had happened. All of us were speechless by this finding. Who would have done such a thing to me?“I've administered the antidote. She'll need some rest here.” The doctor instructed Bert before leaving.“Thank you, doctor. I'll make sure she gets the rest she needs.” Bert nodded. As the doctor and Karson left the room, Bert returned to my bedside.

DylanWhen Cherry tumbled to the floor, her face contorted with pain. My heart ached for some unknown reason.“Cherry!” I cried out, trying to go over to cuddle her.“What the hell is happening to her? Someone go get a doctor!” I shouted. Just seconds ago, I was consumed by anger and resentment toward her. “W-Why am I feeling this? Why the hell am I worried about you when you had tried to kill me? On top of that, you are having an affair,” I whispered loud enough for just the two of us to hear.Cherry had this strange power over me, an irresistible magnetism that drove me to protect her, even when I didn't want to. “Dylan, just what are you doing here? Stay away from her!” Chelsea mumbled, pulling me away from Cherry. Seeing Cherry lay there, unconscious and vulnerable, I felt an odd concern and frustration.“Dylan, we'd better get a doctor over here.” Chelsea's grip on my arm tightened, her gaze never leaving me. My thoughts swirled in confusion as I looked into her eyes. “W-Wha

Cherry I sat on the cozy sofa at my father's after coming back fom hospital, feeling strange emotions as Bert and Karson settled in beside me.“You are probably sick of hearing this question over and over again, but I must ask. How are you feeling, Cherry?” Karson looked much concerned“I am not okay, obviously, but thank you and sorry that you were dragged into this mess.” “It's okay. None of what had happened was your fault. I told you already. I am right here, whenever you need me.” Karson offered a warm smile.“I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't shown up,” I stuttered, tears welling up in my eyes.“We care about you, Cherry.” Bert patted my shoulder gently.“You have us.” Bert's words hanged heavy in the air.“Cherry, I think we need to reconsider our plans,” he continued, his voice filled with worry, “it's not safe for you to stay in the Starsmoon Pack, especially with what happened tonight. Fern's PerspectiveHe's such a proud man. He's given so much to protect Daniel and me. He wouldn't just give up, would he?I forced myself to calm down, taking a deep breath before lifting my head with resolve."I want to see him."The hospital room was unnervingly quiet. He lay on the clean, white hospital bed, his face pale and bloodless. His chest rose and fell slowly, heavily. His once strong and powerful body was now covered in gauze and medical instruments, losing its former majesty.I slowly walked toward him, reached out, and gently held his hand. It was still warm, which reassured me, if only slightly."Can you hear me?" I murmured, my voice so soft it almost seemed to be swallowed by the wind. There was no response.I pressed my lips together, tears welling up in my eyes."You asked me to forgive you before, and I promised… so you can't just leave me like this." Only then did I slowly snap back to reality, pulling him close and gently patting his back to soothe him. But my own body trembled slightly.Would he wake up?Would he open his eyes and look at me?I held Daniel tightly, my nails digging into my palms as I forced myself to stay calm. I can't break down. I can't let myself fall apart. But—"Fern," Tobias's voice rang out. He stood in the doorway of the emergency room, his gaze heavy with unspoken emotions."He…" My voice cracked. "He's going

His voice was low and raspy, as if the breath had been squeezed from deep within his throat—fragile yet firm.Elena laughed softly, her dagger at some point in her hand. The sharp tip of the blade gently slid down his cheek, leaving a fresh trail of blood on his already scarred skin. She leaned in close to him, whispering in his ear, "You really make me sick to my stomach, to have fallen this low. Didn't you always despise me? What now?"He didn't respond. He just opened his gray-blue eyes and gazed deeply into mine.My heart trembled. He was saying goodbye."No!" I struggled desperately, attempting in vain to rush toward him. But the man in black behind me held me down in an unrelenting grip, a cold gun barrel pressed against my back.Elena stood and turned to the henchman beside her, her tone chillingly calm. • Getting away with the Alpha's Pup   Chapter 226

Fern's PerspectiveThe pungent stench of blood filled the entire warehouse, mixing with the rusty scent in the damp air, creating a nauseating atmosphere. My hands were bound behind my back, my knees sunk deep into the cold concrete floor, and my body had grown numb from the prolonged position. But the pain in my heart was unbearable, as if it were being scorched by an unrelenting fire, so intense that it stole my breath.Elena stood nearby, her heels echoing sharply on the ground like the bells of a death knell. She smiled, her narrow eyes glinting with the playful satisfaction of a victor, while several black-clad bodyguards behind her held Daniel down in a deadly grip. His mouth was gagged, and his eyes were wide with terror. But my gaze was fixed on the man before me—him, my MATE, my Alpha, the man I thought I'd never forgive in my life. Yet here he was, kneeling before Elena.I had never seen him so disheveled. His black

Fern's PerspectiveHowever, at that very moment, a loud bang shattered my thoughts—"BANG!" The warehouse door was viciously kicked open, sending dust flying and filling the air with a pungent, decaying smell. I instinctively opened my eyes, only to see a tall figure step through the doorway, standing frozen in the intersection of light and shadow, as if emerging from hell, radiating an unmissable aura. That figure was all too familiar to me—it was Giovanni. My heart skipped a beat, overwhelmed with a mix of surprise and pain. I hadn't expected Giovanni to be here, and even though I had long accepted that there was no going back to the past between us, seeing him in front of me still made my heart race and left me momentarily breathless.Elena clearly hadn't anticipated this turn of events either. My face immediately darkened, my gaze fixed on Giovanni like a viper's, and I drew a pitch-black pistol, aiming it menacingly at my

Fern's PerspectiveNight had fallen, and the air felt heavy with humidity, making it suffocating and uncomfortable. My heart raced faster than usual, and every step I took felt like it weighed a ton. My grip on the car keys tightened, and my eyes locked on the deserted warehouse ahead. I knew instinctively that nothing was going to be easy tonight, but there was no turning back. I didn't even let myself consider it.I tightened the collar of my jacket and took a deep breath, feeling a wave of suffocating pressure. Daniel's silhouette kept haunting my thoughts—the one closest to my bloodline, the one child who still didn't know who he truly was. I instinctively knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I couldn't allow Daniel to be harmed. The doors to the warehouse were closed, and a disconcerting silence hung in the air. I knew Elena had anticipated my arrival. As I approached the door, I gazed at the faded iron gate, hearing the bea

Fern's PerspectiveThere was a strange tension in the air when I got home. The moment I opened the door, a gust of icy wind hit my face. The house seemed unnaturally quiet, and the air felt thick and heavy. I couldn't shake the growing sense of unease rising in my chest. The place was a mess. Papers were scattered across the table, a few books had been knocked off the bookshelf, and shoes and clothes were strewn across the floor, suggesting that something had happened here. My heart sank as I quickly scanned the room, my eyes darting to every corner of the living room, searching for the one person I was most familiar with—my son, Daniel."Daniel?" I called out, my voice sounding weak as it echoed through the empty house, but there was no answer. My heart began to race, and my brow furrowed as I hurried through each room, checking every detail. The kitchen, the bedrooms, the bathrooms—everywhere was empty. There was no sign of Daniel.
