Giovanni's Perspective

"Hey, here you are!" I greeted Tobias warmly.

"Yes, Alpha! I came as soon as I heard you needed me," Tobias replied respectfully.

"How are things going with the pack?" I asked, leaning back in the black leather chair behind the desk.

"Very well. Perhaps if you're free tomorrow, you'd like to come down and take a look? You'll be pleased with how the pack is doing," Tobias suggested.

"I would, but I called you here for something else," I continued.

Tobias leaned closer, focusing intently. "What do you need, Alpha?"

Watching Tobias momentarily tense up made my already pleasant mood even brighter.

Yet, he sat there, looking straight at me, making me wonder what he was up to.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked suspiciously.

"No offense, Alpha," Tobias began, "but the energy you're exuding is a little unnerving to me. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm curious."

I crossed my arms. "Excuse me

Giovanni's PerspectiveI froze in place for a split second when I heard the man speak. I looked at Aurora and just couldn't believe my ears."Why?" I asked, clenching my teeth as the wolf inside me let out an angry growl, forcing myself to glare at Aurora in anger.Aurora panicked a little at the look in my eyes and glanced at the man next to her as if seeking help."Aurora doesn't need to report anything to you. She can do as she pleases. You're not qualified to restrict her freedom. She's already done enough for you," the man said, nodding towards Aurora first, then stepping to block her body, staring at me viciously.Of course, I understood his mindset. Anyone would want to show their tough side in front of the woman they loved. It was just a pity he chose the wrong opponent!"What the hell do you think you are? Where do you get off talking here?!" I looked at the man with disdain. With the wolf inside me letting out a threatening growl, the man froz

Fern's PerspectiveBright moonlight streamed through the cracks in the heavy curtains around my bed, jolting me awake from slumber. My wolf— the other side of my inner being— felt a pang of pain that I couldn't ignore, forcing my eyes open.I sat up quickly, adjusting my breathing, and listened to the night's silence. Just then, there was a sharp knock at the door, making my heart race with anticipation of impending trouble."Fern, open the door!" Beta Tobias's voice came through, laden with anxiety and panic.I hastily threw on my coat and opened the door. "What's wrong?""Alpha Giovanni has been attacked," worry etched on Beta Tobias's face. "We need your help. He's badly injured."My heart sank at the news. Giovanni was not just the Alpha but my mate, even if our relationship was born out of his revenge plot. Deep down, I couldn't forget the kind man Giovanni used to be when he was my brother.I followed Beta Tobias quickly as he led

Fern's PerspectiveThe night hung like an invisible curtain, shrouding the forest in mysterious darkness. Moonlight spilled through the gaps in the treetops, casting dappled light and shadows on the wet ground. My heartbeat reverberated clearly in the silent night, and my hands trembled slightly. At that moment, I was delving deep into Giovanni's consciousness, trying to find him in this chaotic inner world."Giovanni, I'm here," I called out. My voice echoed in the darkness, like a distant call.Suddenly, a soft moan broke the silence, and I followed the sound. The sight that greeted me froze me in my tracks - a lone figure huddled beside a rock in an empty wasteland, his back appearing particularly forlorn. His body seemed to be wracked with endless pain and exhaustion, his hair draped over his shoulders, reflecting his fragility and helplessness. As I approached, I witnessed a scene that broke my heart. A small boy huddled under a dead tree, hi

Fern's PerspectiveThe next day.At 8:00 a.m., I got out of bed, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. After finishing my night of tending to Giovanni, I desperately needed some relaxing activities to relieve the tiredness and tension within me.Yes, tension. In the morning, when Tobias brought my breakfast, he mentioned that Giovanni seemed to have awakened. However, I recalled my plea to Nuu-Chah, the moon god, last night, and the oath I had taken.Honestly, I wasn't sure how my relationship with Giovanni would unfold with Nuu-Chah's assistance and how it might alter my life later on. It left me apprehensive, feeling unprepared to face Giovanni now that he was awake.I made my way downstairs and out the back door of the manor. Jogging to the forest behind the manor, I found a secluded spot behind a tree where I could strip naked. After stowing my clothes in my bag, I changed into fresh ones and released my white wolf with sapphire

Beta Tobias' PerspectiveThe early morning sunlight streamed through the thick forest canopy, filling the air with a moist, earthy scent, while birds chirped happily on the branches. At that moment, I stood outside Giovanni's office, feeling a sense of unease. Giovanni, the Alpha of the pack, had finally woken up.As the Beta of the pack, I bore the burden of protection and surveillance. I needed to find out from Giovanni exactly what had happened on the day he was attacked and gather some clues about the assailant. After all, any werewolf who dares to attack an Alpha is unforgivable.Recently, however, I'd noticed something strange about Alpha Giovanni's condition, something that had caught my attention.Ever since he was injured by Aurora and a man and treated by Fern, Giovanni's behavior has become increasingly unusual. Especially after he woke up, he seemed to be confused about many things. Most worryingly, when Fern's name was men

Giovanni's PerspectiveEvery Monday, there was a regular pack meeting, and as the Alpha, I needed to discuss the pack's development and recent events with the core members. Especially with the full moon approaching this month. However, this time, I found myself thinking about what to wear. I usually didn't care about my attire. When one was in a position of power, his subordinates would respect his regardless of what he wore. But today, I wanted to look my best. I put on a white shirt and a silver-gray tuxedo, a color that reminded me of my mate's shiny, soft fur.My brow furrowed gently at the thought of my mate. It seemed like I hadn't seen her since I got up in the morning. This feeling of separation from her made my wolf whimper in discontent."Relax. I promise I'll take you to see her as soon as the meeting is over."I ran my fingers through my dark, thick hair a few times until I was satisfied with my reflection in the mirror. Then, I left the room and

Giovanni's PerspectiveWe exchanged pleasantries for a while, and it dawned on me that "Aurora's" expression always seemed unnatural whenever I called her name. Her deep eyes flashed with a hint of hesitation and uneasiness, as if she had something she wanted to say but couldn't find the words."What's wrong?" I asked with concern.Aurora shook her head gently. "Nothing."As I tried to continue my questioning, a bell rang in the distance. She looked back at me and asked, "Do you need anything? I have to get breakfast ready."Reluctantly, I released her. "I won't keep you. I should get ready too. I can't wait to see you at breakfast."Aurora smiled gently and stood up, ready to leave.Sensing my mate's departure, my wolf whimpered unhappily, causing me to avert my eyes in embarrassment.Aurora flinched and then smiled softly before she leaned down and kissed my forehead. Tonight was a full moon, and the entire wolf pack was in a state of exuberance, eagerly anticipating the grand full moon banquet. The bonfire blazed in the clearing, its light reflecting on every excited face. Laughter echoed in the air, and it seemed that even the night wind carried a hint of joy.The large formal dining room was decorated in red, black, and gold. A band played soft music in the background, and at the other end of the room, a beautiful fireplace made the whole space warm and inviting. The room was already packed with guests—men in suits and women in evening gowns—scattered around, socializing in small groups. The waiters were busy setting delicate plates of food on the tables. I couldn't stop taking it all in. In all the dinner parties I remembered, I was the one busy serving the guests, never having the

I jerked my head up to meet a pair of long-lost eyes.In an instant, my world collapsed.I threw myself into his arms, tears spilling uncontrollably, and finally let out a sob.—You're back."You're awake!" I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I nearly cried out, my tears already slipping down my cheeks. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, a weak but warm smile forming. "Why... are you crying?""You were unconscious for so long... I thought..." I covered my mouth, unable to stop the sobs. All the strength drained from me in that moment, and I could no longer hold back. I jumped into his arms."I'm here..." he murmured weakly, gently stroking my back. He wouldn't just give up, would he?I forced myself to calm down, taking a deep breath before lifting my head with resolve."I want to see him."The hospital room was unnervingly quiet. He lay on the clean, white hospital bed, his face pale and bloodless. His chest rose and fell slowly, heavily. His once strong and powerful body was now covered in gauze and medical instruments, losing its former majesty.I slowly walked toward him, reached out, and gently held his hand. It was still warm, which reassured me, if only slightly."Can you hear me?" I murmured, my voice so soft it almost seemed to be swallowed by the wind. There was no response.I pressed my lips together, tears welling up in my eyes."You asked me to forgive you before, and I promised… so you can't just leave me like this." But my own body trembled slightly.Would he wake up?Would he open his eyes and look at me?I held Daniel tightly, my nails digging into my palms as I forced myself to stay calm. I can't break down. Fern's PerspectiveHe should have been unconscious, but in that moment, he was like a demon returning from hell, furiously tearing through every enemy in his path. His body was still drenched in blood, with deep gashes on his back, exposing bone, yet he ignored the pain and ran toward me with single-minded determination. My heart raced in my chest, and once again, tears slipped down my face."Fern—!"He roared, throwing the last of the black-clad men aside and enveloping me in his arms. In that instant, it was as if I had truly come to life. But before we could catch our breath, Elena's laughter echoed in our ears."You really moved me, but…"She slowly raised the remote control in her hand, her eyes gleaming with twisted malice. His voice was low and raspy, as if the breath had been squeezed from deep within his throat—fragile yet firm.Elena laughed softly, her dagger at some point in her hand. The sharp tip of the blade gently slid down his cheek, leaving a fresh trail of blood on his already scarred skin. She leaned in close to him, whispering in his ear, "You really make me sick to my stomach, to have fallen this low. Didn't you always despise me? What now?"He didn't respond. He just opened his gray-blue eyes and gazed deeply into mine.My heart trembled. He was saying goodbye."No!" I struggled desperately, attempting in vain to rush toward him. But the man in black behind me held me down in an unrelenting grip, a cold gun barrel pressed against my back.Elena stood and turned to the henchman beside her, her tone chillingly calm. Fern's PerspectiveThe pungent stench of blood filled the entire warehouse, mixing with the rusty scent in the damp air, creating a nauseating atmosphere. My hands were bound behind my back, my knees sunk deep into the cold concrete floor, and my body had grown numb from the prolonged position. But the pain in my heart was unbearable, as if it were being scorched by an unrelenting fire, so intense that it stole my breath.Elena stood nearby, her heels echoing sharply on the ground like the bells of a death knell. She smiled, her narrow eyes glinting with the playful satisfaction of a victor, while several black-clad bodyguards behind her held Daniel down in a deadly grip. His mouth was gagged, and his eyes were wide with terror. But my gaze was fixed on the man before me—him, my MATE, my Alpha, the man I thought I'd never forgive in my life. Yet here he was, kneeling before Elena.I had never seen him so disheveled. His black

Fern's PerspectiveHowever, at that very moment, a loud bang shattered my thoughts—"BANG!" The warehouse door was viciously kicked open, sending dust flying and filling the air with a pungent, decaying smell. I instinctively opened my eyes, only to see a tall figure step through the doorway, standing frozen in the intersection of light and shadow, as if emerging from hell, radiating an unmissable aura. That figure was all too familiar to me—it was Giovanni. My heart skipped a beat, overwhelmed with a mix of surprise and pain. I hadn't expected Giovanni to be here, and even though I had long accepted that there was no going back to the past between us, seeing him in front of me still made my heart race and left me momentarily breathless.Elena clearly hadn't anticipated this turn of events either. My face immediately darkened, my gaze fixed on Giovanni like a viper's, and I drew a pitch-black pistol, aiming it menacingly at my

Fern's PerspectiveNight had fallen, and the air felt heavy with humidity, making it suffocating and uncomfortable. My heart raced faster than usual, and every step I took felt like it weighed a ton. My grip on the car keys tightened, and my eyes locked on the deserted warehouse ahead. I knew instinctively that nothing was going to be easy tonight, but there was no turning back. I didn't even let myself consider it.I tightened the collar of my jacket and took a deep breath, feeling a wave of suffocating pressure. Daniel's silhouette kept haunting my thoughts—the one closest to my bloodline, the one child who still didn't know who he truly was. I instinctively knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I couldn't allow Daniel to be harmed. The doors to the warehouse were closed, and a disconcerting silence hung in the air. I knew Elena had anticipated my arrival. As I approached the door, I gazed at the faded iron gate, hearing the bea

  • Getting away with the Alpha's Pup   Chapter 223

Fern's PerspectiveThere was a strange tension in the air when I got home. The moment I opened the door, a gust of icy wind hit my face. The house seemed unnaturally quiet, and the air felt thick and heavy. I couldn't shake the growing sense of unease rising in my chest. The place was a mess. Papers were scattered across the table, a few books had been knocked off the bookshelf, and shoes and clothes were strewn across the floor, suggesting that something had happened here. My heart sank as I quickly scanned the room, my eyes darting to every corner of the living room, searching for the one person I was most familiar with—my son, Daniel."Daniel?" I called out, my voice sounding weak as it echoed through the empty house, but there was no answer. My heart began to race, and my brow furrowed as I hurried through each room, checking every detail. The kitchen, the bedrooms, the bathrooms—everywhere was empty. There was no sign of Daniel.
