Chapter 3-

Alessia squinted her eyes.

She had received such emails before.

The reason she returned to the country this time was because a week ago, she received an email claiming to know the whereabouts of her firstborn.

She checked the IP address, and the IP address of the email was in the country.

Unexpectedly, just after returning to the country, such an email came again.

This time, the address for a meeting was directly set, showing that the other party was well aware of her itinerary.

Except for her assistant Sophie, no one knew about her return to the country. Who could this person be?

Alessia's eyes turned cold. Regardless of who the other party was, she had to go to the Bar Chef.

...

Queen West neighborhood, Bar Chef.

Approaching midnight, the nightlife here is just beginning.

Alessia still wore the simple outfit from daytime, just adding a black coat on top.

Her skin was pale, her features deep and delicate. The black color accentuated all her facial features perfectly, like a dark elf. As soon as she appeared, she attracted many curious gazes.

"A whiskey, please!"

Alessia went straight to the bar, ordered a drink, and sat down at the most conspicuous spot.

She lowered her brows, hiding her anxious expression.

If someone had invited her to meet, they would surely give a signal.

"Miss, are you all alone?"

As soon as Alessia sat down, a chubby man walked over, his gaze boldly roaming over her, making her feel nauseated.

It was obvious this man was here for leisure, not to send emails.

Alessia coldly uttered two words, "No time!"

The man hesitated for a moment, not expecting to be rejected so quickly. Unwilling to give up, he showed off the expensive watch on his wrist. "Miss, don't be in such a hurry to refuse. Let's chat, maybe then you'll have time."

Alessia lazily swirled the drink in her hand, impatiently saying, "Not interested!"

"You’re just here to hook someone, but pretending otherwise!" Rejected again without mercy, the man obviously couldn't bear losing face, spat out in anger before leaving.

Alessia didn't care. Right now, she just wanted to know where her firstborn was.

The priority was to find the person who sent the email.

She sat for a while, several people came to chat up, but unfortunately, none of them were the person she was waiting for.

Alessia took a sip of her drink, her gaze scanning the bar downstairs with disappointment, then shifting to the second floor area.

In the VIP booth on the second floor, through the bright glass, a man in a wine-red suit was leisurely appraising Alessia.

"Dom, guess who this woman will leave with tonight?"

Beside the man, Dominic leaned back in his chair, his gaze coldly fixed on Alessia downstairs.

He remembered this woman! He had just met her at the airport during the day, never expecting to encounter her at the bar at night.

This woman actually left her two children behind in the middle of the night to come to the bar for fun?

A hint of disgust flashed in Dominic's eyes. He raised his glass, took a sip, and coldly uttered a word, "Boring!"

"How can it be boring? Everyone likes beauties, but we know, you only like Miss Fraser!" Benjamin Dupont joked.

Growing up together, he naturally knew Dominic's strict self-discipline, never indulging in women, living a life akin to an old cadre.

If it weren't for finally getting news about the psychologist Riley Sinclair, he wouldn't have appeared at Bar Chef tonight.

This Riley was also strange. She had kept a low profile since becoming famous, and eight years ago, she suddenly disappeared without a trace.

It wasn't until recently that her whereabouts resurfaced. They heard she had been looking for someone all along!

As Benjamin finished speaking, everyone laughed along.

Dominic glanced lazily, too lazy to explain.

"I think she'll leave with that young master from the Ramirez family!" Everyone laughed, and Benjamin's gaze once again fell on Alessia.

Following his words, Dominic also glanced over.

Sure enough, right after Benjamin finished speaking, Alessia took the initiative to accept the drink offered by the man who approached her, then poured the drink onto the ground!

"Poured it?" Benjamin was surprised. "Nolan Ramirez is the number one playboy in Toronto. He's famous for being generous to women. If even he didn't catch her eye, what kind of man does this woman want?"

Benjamin became even more interested!

Dominic's eyes darkened slightly. This woman was just playing hard to get.

Alessia looked at the strange man in front of her, took out a check, and placed it on the table in front of her.

She lowered her eyes coldly, ignoring him.

Just then, the music stopped.

The men and women twisting on the dance floor all dispersed. Alessia picked up her drink and followed the scattered crowd upstairs.

Compared to the noisy first floor, the second floor was much quieter and more chic, with a full glass decoration style that allowed the entire first floor to be seen from above.

Alessia walked around the second floor and soon saw a familiar figure in the middle of the crowd.

Perhaps because of the alcohol, the man's usually steady gaze showed a hint of confusion. His white shirt collar was slightly open, legs crossed, exuding a fatal laziness mixed with dominance. Even among the crowd of handsome men, he was exceptionally eye-catching.

Why is he here?

Could it be that Dominic is the one who sent the email!

Alessia tightened her grip on the glass.

Quickly, she dismissed the thought.

If Dominic was the one who sent the email, he had the opportunity to cause trouble for her at the airport, or it was just a coincidence.

However, if that's the case, then who in this bar is the one who sent the email?

Alessia furrowed her brows, then heard her phone vibrating again.

Another anonymous email arrived, accompanied by a photo taken just now when she was sitting at the bar.

[Miss La Rosa, you really keep your promises!]

This person is in the bar!

A feeling of being watched suddenly arose, Alessia felt uncomfortable, and she raised her head to look around.

At this moment, it seemed like the person on the other end of the phone had read her mind.

With a buzz, her phone vibrated again, and another email came.

[Don't bother looking, I'm not in the bar. To show my sincerity, turn left when you leave, there's a surprise in the third trash can.]

The third trash can?

Alessia remembered the scene outside the bar when she arrived. She turned and walked downstairs, quickly operating her phone to take a screenshot of the IP address from the email and sending it to someone named M on her W******p, along with a message:

[Find the exact address of this IP and lock it!]

Upstairs, in the booth.

Benjamin let out a long breath as he watched Alessia leave without hesitation. He leaned back on the sofa, a smile on his lips, and looked at Dominic, saying, "It was a false alarm. That woman just kept staring at you. I thought she was interested in you despite the danger."

Dominic frowned, recalling the woman's unabashed gaze, feeling annoyed.

Benjamin continued his analysis, "But I thought about it, and I think there's a possibility. Perhaps she came here tonight just for you, making a high-profile appearance to attract your attention, then braking at the door, arousing your interest. Trust me, it won't be long before she appears in front of you!"

Benjamin concluded, throwing a flirtatious glance at him.

Dominic hesitated, but before he could speak, his phone rang.

It was from his residence!

Dominic answered, hearing the anxious voice of the maid on the other end. "Sir, Young Master has run away from home!"

Run away from home?

Dominic pursed his lips, his facial lines tightening.

Christopher had always been stubborn since he was a child, and although he had quarreled with him before, this was the first time he had run away from home.

Could it be that he was too strict?

Dominic couldn't help but doubt himself, but then he thought of Alessia, and his face darkened.

That woman had insulted him with a coin and then heartlessly abandoned their son. He had wanted to strangle her, so how could he allow Christopher to mention her again and again.

Dominic pursed his lips, greeted Benjamin, and stood up, leaving with his suit jacket.

Compared to the lively bar, outside was much colder.

Under the tree at the door, there was only one drunken man squatting on the ground, vomiting.

Following the instructions on her phone, Alessia found the third trash can ten minutes later.

It was quiet around, with only the dim street lights casting shadows on the ground.

Alessia didn't find the suspect, so she frowned and opened the trash can.

As soon as it opened, a strong smell of decay rushed out, followed by a yellow leather bag catching her eye. The leather was clean and neatly placed, clearly contrasting with the dirty environment.

Alessia instinctively felt that this was the surprise mentioned in the email.

She took out the leather bag, and as soon as she opened it, several photos appeared, accompanied by a note:

[Compilation of photos of abandoned infants lost by Toronto Hospital within five years. Miss La Rosa, can you guess which one is your son's photo?]
