"Then who did?" was Harry's question.
They kept on staring with wide eyes. Of course, they didn't have an answer to that. Gwenevere took off the apron on her neck and placed it on the edge of the couch beside her. She didn't need to ask her parents, no one in the family could have paid that huge sum of money.
"I need to get to your school." she said immediately. She folded the receipt and pushed it into the back pocket of her jean. She grabbed her phone and walked to the front door trying to silence the scary voices still speaking in her head.
Never had this happened before. Was she in danger? Or was this a gift from God? Had Mama Miracle really answered her prayers?
***
Shockingly, Mama Miracle seemed to be answering her prayer.
Gwenevere thought back and forth how this had come to be. She was staring into the payment book of the school, looking at the signature of the person who had paid Harry's fees. So now, she would get to be blessed by strangers? 0Cool!
Gwenevere wasn't aware that this great news had made her put on an adorable smile. The chubby man who stood opposite her behind the counter was waiting for her to speak. He didn't understand why she was smiling so much, but the truth was he didn't care, the only reason he kept on standing in front of her was because the sooner she spoke the earlier he would go home.
"Uhm, please, I will need a favor from you." she said to him and he nodded a 'bring it on'.
"Can I get the phone number of the person that did this? I mean, whoever it is that paid my son's fees, I need to thank him."
The accountant considered her request and saw that granting it to her would lead them to the benediction of this conversation.
"Alright." He took out a sticky note, wrote out a number from the phonebook and slid it over to Gwenevere. She took the paper and nodded at him.
"Thank you." she said and found her way out.
She carried a grateful heart out of the school gate. In a way, Gwenevere wished the stranger had put the money right in her palms, she would have used it for the more critical issue at hand.
As she recalled Harry breaking the news to her about an hour ago, she also remembered him constantly reporting this certain man who had been visiting his school and showing him little favors every now and then, buying him snacks and cookies. She hadn't paid so much attention to that, but what if it was the same man? If he was, then Gwenevere considered she would have a lot of appreciation to offer to him. Luckily, she already had his digits, she would give him a call as soon as she got home.

Williams' phone rang from the bottom of his bed. He grunted and hit a fist into the hard foam he laid on.
He wanted no calls.
He wanted to be free from people for the rest of the day, he had seen enough people already and he was ready to shut himself down into his bedroom even if the time was just five in the evening.
He rolled over and dipped his hand to the bottom of his bed without looking. He tapped the rug around waiting for his hand to touch the phone he had hidden there, but it didn't. He shifted on the bed and stretched further and further till he got to the edge of the bed and fell off.
"Ouh!" he whispered in pain. He grabbed hold of the phone and picked up the call.
He kept silent patiently waiting for the caller to speak.
"Hello?" the voice came in.
Williams eyebrow went up. The voice he just heard wasn't the usual type, not the voice he had expected to hear. It wasn't a dry, deep, or croaky voice, it seemed to have something that tickled like melody in his ears. A voice that was bright and full of life. It was the voice of a woman. Interestingly, a woman had called him. This was rarer than an eclipse.
"Hello" he replied and slowly sat up on the floor, pushing his back to the wall.
"Good evening, I'm so glad I could get through to you. I'm Harry's mother from The Greenhill School."
Williams eyes went wide open. Harry's mother. Harry's mo- Harry's what?
"Good evening ma'am." he replied wondering how he was talking to who she had just said she was.
"I got a message today that Harry's sport fees were paid and I was told it was you who paid the money?"
Shoot, he was busted. He folded his fist up against his mouth. He told Mario he would get caught. Whose parents would find out that their child's fees were paid by someone and not want to find out who it was? He couldn't blame Mario though, because if he hadn't said anything, he'd still have paid the money.
"Oh, Um, that's...me."
"My! I am so grateful to you sir. You have no idea how much this means. I was shocked when I received the news, it really means a great deal to me."
"Ma'am, there's no need to thank me, Harry's a really good boy, he deserves it." Williams replied with a smirk. Oh yes, the little boy deserved such goodness. He was a great boy.
"No, no. I really need to thank you. Can I meet you, in person, so I can thank you."
"Uh?" he said. He didn't at all expect she would ask to see him. And no, he didn't want to see her. He didn't want to meet with anyone. He had long lost his anticipation and eagerness to meet new people. He had no interest in socializing or making new acqintances. He was okay just the way he was, although a lot of times, it was unbearable, he still stubbornly shut himself away from the world. The only thing that could possibly make him interact with any other human that he hadn't already known was his princely duties.
"There's no need for that ma'am. You really don't need to thank me." Williams shook his head really hoping he would not have to drag this argument further.
"Oh, I need to. You did a really amazing thing for me, the least I can do is to thank you."
Williams moved the phone away from his face and made a tsk with his tongue repeatedly.
"Can we meet tomorrow, anywhere around where you live?" She asked
"No, no, I can come to your neighborhood." he said hurriedly and then closed his eyes in disappointment of what he had just said.
"Okay, I know of a restaurant close to Greenhill, we can meet there."
Williams swallowed.
"Okay."
"Alright, have a great day, sir." she said and cut the call.
As soon as her voice disappeared, Williams exclaimed
"What?! Arrgh!"
He jumped up on his feet and paced around the room slowly.
"This shouldn't go so bad after all. It is just a meeting between a mother and me. What could possibly go wrong?" he spoke aloud.
As much as he tried to tell himself that, he dreaded what had just happened. Here he was dodging balls from interaction in any and every way, but it decided to sneak up on him when he wasn't looking. It had hit him hard with this ball and he had to deal with the after effects whether or not he wanted.
In a way, he had this feel that the meeting with this woman wasn't going to be ordinary. He didn't know if it was the sound of the voice he heard on the phone or her politeness, he just felt like it wasn't going to be an ordinary meeting and somehow, he wanted to avoid it.
This was the first time he would decide to pay any fee for Harry of the five months he had known him. Months ago, he once had a reason to visit the school for special inspection and he had gone without announcing his identity. He had noticed the bright little boy from the crowd of students and picked a special liking to him.
He never had any dutiful reason to go back to that school again, but his liking for this boy had made him walk through the school gate numerous times. With only Mario escorting him, he had become a distant friend of the boy. The only things he had ever given to him were chocolate, candies, ice-cream and anything that could make a child cringe in happiness. Nothing too big, nothing too special, he just wanted to see the kid. Now his big step had called attention.
He picked up his phone again and called a number, his number one partner.
"You need got get here, Mario. There's a cat in my room."
Mario dared not waste time answering Williams call. Answering Williams call was his number one duty, and he just couldn't tell when Williams would decide to go haywire and put him in some sort of annoying punishment. The last time, he had sent him to count the stars in the sky for an hour. He had no idea he could count up to nine-hundred stars all by himself. Somehow, Williams always made him do the impossible, even if it came in form of a punishment most times.
Hannah couldn't move, she was awestruck and she stared at Gwen wondering if she had really said what she said. She hurried towards her. "Apologize Gwen. Say you didn't mean what you said. Come on!" Hannah stammered pulling her towards Philip.
"What?" Williams finally managed to speak a word. "You misunderstood, miss. It was not my intention to have your skirt torn, and I'm so-"
Williams walked out of the restaurant disappointed. He felt bad for having missed his date. He imagined how angry she would be and he felt so sorry but what was even more annoying was that she refused to pick her calls. How were they even supposed to meet if not with their phones. He nodded his
"Gwen" Jolie called weakly."Sweetie." she walked closer to her and touched her hand. A transparent rubber pipe that went all the way up to a hanging drip was taped to the back of her hand. Her protruding belly was hidden in the blue cloth that was used to cover her body up to her chest. Gweneve
She looked at her parents who were also totally mute. The content of the letter had shocked her to the bones. How could they ask her to take the place of her sister and marry the prince? That was betrayal. Impossible. For millions of reasons, her answer to the proposal would be a no. A capital NO. In fact she already planned sending them a message with only two letters in it- n and o.
Williams forgot about the suit trouser he was wearing when he sat on the ground.Sitting was a part of the process he needed to go through. His eyes were focused on the sea that was many meters away from him. For about an hour now, Williams had been s
Quickly, she looked away and charged speed into her steps. And no, she didn’t stop until she was far away from the shop.Seeing the huge distance between them, Temilorun jogged after her.
"Hurry up, Mykel, we have a lot to do today." Gwenevere called, matching forward. He increased his pace and closed the distance between them."I'm wondering what you're up to.""First of all, I have to apologize. I lied, there's nothing cloudy in this meeting, we're not swimming in the sky or anything. I said it would be cloudy because we're in a park called The Cloudy Park." she raised her eyebrow at him."Oh..." Williams smiled. Skilled wits uh? What a nice way to manipulate words. "I guess mentioning the cloud was supposed to be a motivation for me, because I've thrilled with the thought of diving in the sky.""You love that? Well, I'm on a mission to shaking the indoor-spirit out of you, and I've got a series of detailed plans to do that. So we'll have to start from the ground. Golf."Williams nodded slowly. Golf. "You should be go
Williams adjusted his collar and tapped his foot on the rug nervously. He couldn't belive he was here already, waiting to meet his 'interesting' counselor. That woman had better made his effort worth it, but more importantly than that, he was nervous too. Why? He had no idea.He looked at the empty seat beside him and nodded his head."You did well, Williams. Mario doesn't have to know about this." he said."But I could make use of some of his advices..." he added and shook his head immediately "What do you mean? I can do this on my own, I'm good at socializing too." he finally convinced himself and got down the car.He put a black shaded over his eyes. It was about time he met his date. He picked out his phone and made a call."Khm-khm. I'm at the park." he spoke into it once she picked."Great!" she replied in a voice that he considered to too loud
Williams rubbed the surface of his giant piano. He pulled away the black cloth he had used to cover the piano. He hadn't played in a while. His hands had begun to crave the sweetness that laid on the keys of the piano. He sat in front of it, and placed his hand on the white keys, unsure of what he would play. His soul and heart were the ones that determined what kind of music would flow out. His was just to follow.
It was Wednesday. The bank account was as red as crimson. The more she stared at her account statements, the more she went haywire. Two thousand dollars. That was t
Williams sat in the black office chair in his room. He tapped the edge of the laptop facing him. How was he going to answer this question? Mario was sure really fast getting a counselor, he didn't even give him enough time to develop his fake personality. He shrugged, she might as well state what she needs to know. What do you need to know?Gwenevere raised her right eyebrow.“Is he having issues doing a proper introduction now? Tch.”Where do you live and with whom? Tell me about your family. Do you know your temperament?Eastern part of the coun
"I think I need a counselor.”Mario stopped and paused the tea pot in the air.“Uh? Serious?” he dropped the tea pot and walked towards him. “Really?” Mario was amazed. “This is great news. Why? What made you decide to get one?”Williams gave him an emotionless face. “Since I stepped into the King’s chambers.”That night was horrible for Williams. Never in his life had he been that scared. Henry had brought back all of the memories he had pushed down, far away from his consciousness. He felt he was going to run mad. Not only was he afraid, he was wet with guilt.“I had a bad dream overnight. I saw him.” Williams said.Mario's eyes widened.“He… he was angry. He was angry at me.” Williams dug his hands into his blonde hair. The he kept quiet, he couldn’t say no more. He wouldn’t say no more.Mario sprang up. “I know of a counselling organization. I'll do the registration. I’ll make use of a fake identity…if you want.”Of course, he wanted that. He wasn’t yet ready to reveal his identi
"Look girl, I'm toast." Gwenevere said pacing around the room.
They both stared at one another, then Williams suddenly burst into laughter. He laughed hard for ten seconds straight! Mario counted. That laughter was a rare sight. Rarer than the blue moon.
"Are you insane?" Hannah yelled at Gwenevere. For the first time in never, her mother poured out such tangible anger at her. She couldn't move an inch, she was drenched in both surprise and remorse.
