Gabe POV.The power surge through the packhouse caused us all to submit. With gritted teeth, my mates and I try to peel ourselves from the floor. Sweat trickling down my back and Knight whimpering in my head. I look at Leo and Jake. They are the same. Hearing the scream that gets us up and running upstairs.Crashing into the wall as we near the room. Stopping in the doorway, seeing Gaia, Sofia, Destinee, and Fenrir doing something. The scent of blood in the air. I know it’s Gaia as she screams into the heavens, calling for the help of the gods.We try to enter the room but are stopped by an unknown force. Her head is thrown back as lightning strikes her body, blood streaming down her face. I clutch my chest as my breathing comes out ragged and fast. When I see the white light leave her and is directed towards Selene.“We need to get in there. She is going to hurt herself.” Knight thrashes, trying to get control to get to his mate, but he can’t break the barrier. She can’t see us. We a
Gaia POV.Waking pressed against a hard chest as a chest is firmly against my back, legs, and arms entwined over me. I smile to myself at how contented I feel. But that is shattered when my stomach rolls.Shoving the arms and legs away, I quickly scramble off the bed, with a hand over my mouth and the other on my stomach, as I dash to the bathroom and throw up as I reach the toilet. Damn morning sickness. Hands move my hair from my face as another hand rubs my back as I heave up nothing but bile with tears streaming down my face. After dry heaving, the sweat lines my forehead and drips down my back as I slump to the floor beside the toilet panting. Leo hands me a wet washcloth, and I wipe my face as he hands me a glass of water.“Thank you.” My throat is sore as scratchy as I take sips of the water.“Let me help you up. You need to rest.” I hold up a finger, telling him to stop, and he does. I move to my knees and pull myself up as I flush the toilet and move to the sink. Grabbing my
Gaia POV.Entering the maximum security prison. I slow down to a walk. The muffled screams echo in the long hallway. Kodiak is still in control and she won’t give that up anytime soon.“Goddess, what can I help you with?” One of the demons bows low at me as I stop in front of him.“I need to see Fate.” I say as he straightens up and nods as he walks in front of me.“Do you need my assistance? She has been quite wilful lately.” I smirk internally. Oh, she won’t be when I’ve finished with her. Well, I say me more like the Harbinger.“Make sure the recording devices are working. I will need them. I will be having a conversation with her. You may enter with me, but do not speak to her.” I say with a low growl and he nods his head as we stop outside the room that holds Fate.He manifests the key and chants to remove the spell from the door. Something we did when Morgana escaped. The door opens, and he moves inside and binds Fate. I enter the room and my nose wrinkles at the stench that com
Gaia POV.Leaving Hell, I open a portal to Elysium and walk through. I enter the garden. Walking towards the pool of life. I lean over and look inside. The golden glow coming from within and the orbs all dance around. Crashing and bonding and I smile.Watching the new bonds take hold is like watching birth. It always fascinates me how the bonds are created and now I am watching it over again.“Hello child.” I lift my head to my uncle Lycaon as he moves closer to me with a wolf at his side. The first Lycan. I smile at him as he moves to stand at my side as I turn my gaze back to the golden pool.“What brings you here?” I point my chin towards the pool and he chuckles as he reaches in and brings out a cluster of five orbs together. I watch as he holds them in his palm.“These are yours.” He says and I look at them closely and I smile before he places them back inside and I watch as the cluster swirls but doesn’t break apart. Like an intimate dance, the clusters holding each other in a t
Gaia POV.I hate knowing things that I shouldn’t, but what do I do? Do I tell her the truth or just leave her to find out on her own? I groan as I pull my hand down my face. Sitting on top of the mountain looking out over the world. This place is my sanctuary when shit hits the fan. This is where I like to come to think and release the thoughts that plague my mind. Mainly the situation with Asteria.Rosa and Charlie’s situation well ties in with Asteria’s. Why is this so complicated?“I don’t think we should tell her.” I sigh. Is she for real right now?“Explain why we shouldn’t. Asteria is our family, maybe not by blood, but still. Wouldn’t you want to know the truth? What about Rosa?” I say to Kodiak, who sits beside me as we look out at the calm world below us.“I think Lycaon is right. Asteria needs to fall in love with this human first, then she will see they are not all bad. She needs to give him a chance before she condemns him and his species to death. As for Rosa, once Asteri
Gaia POV.Walking towards my father’s office, I still don’t know what he wants to talk to me about. So I am utterly clueless and don’t know if I need to approach with caution or if he is just being a dick. Either way, I will not let it show that this is making me nervous.Knocking on the door, I know he isn’t alone. I can scent Helios and Xander in there with him.“Come in Gaia.” I gulp and take a calming breath as I plaster a smile on my face and open the door. Walking in, I see my dad sat at his desk and Helios and Xander are sitting in front of him. Nicholas is sitting on the sofa. Why didn’t I scent him? Oh, the sneaky bastard was cloaking his scent. Why didn’t I do that? Stupid Gaia.“You said you wanted to speak to me? So what is it, dad?” I say as I stand there, watching him as the knuckleheads turn and smirk at me. Oh, fuck no!“Come and sit next to me,” Nicky says through the link, and I move to sit next to my twin brother. He smiles at me before turning his attention back to
Calista POV.The thing I love about pups is that they are always eager to learn and have fun. That is what we try to do when we train them to defend themselves. Here and at Venom Fang, they start young. Some would say too young. Well, I disagree. You are never too young to learn.Gods, when I was younger all those many moons ago, we weren’t taught like this, no we were thrown into a pit and made to fight to survive. They were savage times back then, and I’m glad none of these little pups will ever have to endure that. I will always remember the smells and the sounds of being inside the pit. I shudder as I look out over all the pups as they run and play with a small smile on my face. Times have changed and I’m grateful they have. When my pup is old enough, he will be trained in the same way as these pups but something is telling me he will need training early and it will be need to be more vigorous than what we do now, we will wait and see though. The pups start when they are five, how
Gaia POV.The pain rips my stomach apart at his words as I pant my fangs elongated as he called Rosa a mongrel. I stand up as I crack my neck as I look at him. Blood trickles down my leg and my nose.“As you wish. You have just sentenced the pack to death. When the war happens, you are on your own. As for always bailing me out. Don’t forget it was me who saved your fucking life when we were pups. I should have let you die.” I spit on the ground as I lick my lip.“Come on. We are leaving.” I stagger, holding my belly when I fall. Just before I hit the ground, I’m hauled up in Leo’s arms and we turn and leave.“Gaia, wait, please. Don’t do this. Let us make sure you are ok.” My mom runs towards me as Calista takes Rosa from her and we open a portal. Fuck this.“I’m sorry, mom. I love you. Take care of Sofia.” I say as I nod as Leo walks with me in his arms into Hell.“Gaia, stop. You are breaking the laws. If you do this, then I can’t help you.” My dad screams as my other dad holds him
