“Mad dog will be waiting for you at the gate, I'll meet you both at the city gates.”

“You're not coming?.” I asked in panic.

“I'll be right behind you.” “I have to take care of someone.” He replied and ran back in, leaving me alone. I quickly ran to where he told me mad dog will be waiting. But when I got to the gate, mad dog was nowhere to be seen. I began to run, I was scared I'd get captured. Derrick or Simon could not capture me, I had to make sure of that.

My hearing sense heightened, someone was on my heels. A wolf was chasing me, she had managed to slip past Derrick. It was Amelia. I ran desperately down the moonlit path into the woods. But I was no match for her, she was faster. I knew she'd get me soon at this pace.

Panicking, I ran for my life, my heart pounding in my chest. She was hot on my heels, her breath panting against my neck. I could feel her hot, fetid breath on my skin, and I could hear her claws scrabbling against the ground. I ran as fast a

Gwen“I’m very sorry for rejecting you back then.” “I made a mistake and I hope you see my sincererity.” I was taken aback by his action. I was surprised. “You know you don't mean it. “What have I done wrong?.” “I accept you don't like me, but you don't have to put me through all these. Rejecting me should have been enough for you.” “What are you talking about?.” He finally asked. “You've been swaying my feelings, I'm probably your play thing like those girls at the inn from the other night.” “Stop acting like you love me or you have any feelings for me when you clearly don't.” He didn't flinch, he silently watched me pour out my grievances. “For a moment I foolishly thought you did, but I had no idea you were here to whisk me off to some dungeon in Dycan.”The betrayal stung so bad. Tears welled up my eyes. I was foolish, I thought there was a spark between us. “I don't know what I may have done to you Derrick, but I promise never to show my face before you e

The night made way for daylight. I and Gwen made our way to aunt Maya's. I sincerely hope mad dog had concluded the little exercise I had sent him. He and I were the only ones aware of the books existence. The third person who knew about it was my late father. Mad dog had sworn secrecy not to mention a word about that book to a single soul. Gwen could never know anything about it. I'd have to tell her myself. Knowing the truth would shatter whatever we have together. After a while, we got to aunt Maya's house. The place looked like a castle.Gwen's face lit up in excitement. Holding the hem of her dress, her eyes savoured the place in nostalgia. She took a deep breath of satisfaction. “It's just like I remember.” She said in smiles. Together we made our way in through the huge doors. I was happy she was happy, but I was still concerned about mad dog. Was he dead? Or perhaps did he run wild again? I had no idea what it was, but I can't let Gwen find out what my father did to

As the sun rises, its gentle rays paint the sky in hues of soft pink and orange, casting a warm glow over the world below. Dewdrops glisten like diamonds on blades of grass, while birds chirp melodiously, filling the air with their sweet symphony. The air is crisp and fresh, carrying the scent of blooming flowers and earthy foliage. In the distance, mountains stand majestically, their peaks kissed by the first light of dawn. It's a tranquil scene, inviting one to pause and savour the serenity of a new day dawning. Derrick held my waist as I rode him slowly. Straddling my legs around his waist, he rested his hands on my butt. I couldn't control my moans. The feel of him inside me was divine. He kissed me hungrily, and slowly trailed his kisses down to my neck. His tongue came to a stop on my breasts. He feasted on my nipples as I held the back of his head like I was intoxicated. I moaned with each stroke as he shoved his way inside me. I was panting hard. He fucked my b

Derrick crumpled a piece of paper and flung it across the throne room. I picked it up in curiosity, wondering what it could be. It was a threat letter, from the vampires. They were coming for us. They were coming for war. A move no other fortress had tried in centuries. Even before the time of the late alpha. They all feared Derrick, they knew how powerful he was. The knew he could eliminate them all at once without doing much. Why would they be bold enough to send a threat letter. They probably had a strong backing or something we did not posses. “Are you all right?.” I asked in concern going close to him. I sat beside him gently and placed my hand on his shoulder. “I'm fine.” He lied. I could tell when Derrick was lying, his voice would become subtle“You're not.” I insisted. “ I said I'm fine, just let me be.” He replied again, slightly raising his voice. I left angrily. I laid on the bed, thinking about how we may have wronged the vampires, or what connection we could possibl

The castle halls were dark and cold, the wind whistling through the cracks in the stone walls. The torches burned low, casting a weak light that did little to dispel the shadows. I shivered as I walked, my breath coming out in small clouds of mist. I could hear my footsteps echoing in the silence, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. The castle felt like a living thing, its dark eyes watching me as I moved through its corridors. I felt a sense of foreboding, like something was about to happen, something I wouldn't be able to escape. The palace was quiet and chilly, everyone had gone to bed except me. I was going to raid Derrick's study. I was looking for the Dycan chronicles. The book that only existed in myths. The writer remains unknown. The book Mad dog had told me about. It contained the story of notable key figures in Dycan; including my father. Perhaps it could tell me what happened to my mother. Dycan was the only pack with two packs existing together with no pack b

The day was glum. The temperature outside was almost turning into a snowstorm. I and Derrick made love all night long. I was worried about him, I had no idea why. I watched him get into his clothes and fasting his sword into his sheath. He's weakness wasn't silver. swords had no effect on him it would take a lifetime to come across a dragon so he was good. I stood up and walked towards him. He drew me close and held my waist. Our tounges intertwined in a hot kiss. He kissed me one last time and slowly let go of me. My eyelids dilated in worry as I placed my hand on his shoulder. “Good luck.” I wished him sadly. I didn't want him to leave. I sincerely wished there was no war. ‘Don't worry my love, I'll be fine.” He tried to reassure me, but I didn't take his word for it. I was still worried. “I'll be back before you know it.”“Okay, I'll be waiting.” “Everything will finally be over.” “Okay, I'll be waiting.”“ We'll take the vampires by surprise in their kingdom.” “Everything will go

The snow storm had reduced. As I stand amidst the swirling snowflakes on the desolate battlefield, my heart pounds with a mixture of dread and anticipation. The bitter cold bites at my skin, but it is nothing compared to the icy grip of fear that clenches my heart as I scan the horizon for any sign of my father. And then, amidst the white expanse, I see him. His once proud figure is now hunched and weary, his armor battered and stained with the blood of fallen comrades. Every step he takes seems to sap what little strength he has left, and my chest tightens with a sense of helplessness.Tears blur my vision as I watch him draw closer, his breath forming frosty clouds in the frigid air. His face, once a portrait of strength and determination, is now etched with lines of pain and exhaustion. Yet, in his eyes, I see a flicker of something familiar – love, undying and unwavering, even in the face of death. "Daddy," I call out, my voice trembling with emotion as I rush to mee

Three years later…. Two children run around merrily. “You're it!!.” A cute little baby girl says and runs away. A little boy around her age follows in pursuit. I watch my babies with pride from across the field as I sip some tea. The vibrant red yellow and peach flowers beside me add colour and life to the field. It's a peaceful morning in Dycan again. The sun beamed radiantly from the sky. The air was clean and refreshing. I smile as I watch my twins have fun. They were worthy compensation for all I had lost. I wished my dad was alive to see them. They consoled me. Their birth brought nothing but joy to my life. Derrick had gone on a short trip, but it felt like forever. Sitting beneath the sprawling branches of a majestic tree in this tranquil field, I feel a deep sense of calm enveloping me. The tree's leaves create a dappled pattern of sunlight and shade, casting a soothing ambiance around me. I lean against the sturdy trunk, feeling it's comforting presence gro

We were back to Dycan. The palace loomed before us, a symbol of both power and oppression. But today, it would witness a reckoning. As we crossed the threshold, the air crackled with anticipation, our footsteps echoing through the grand halls. I could sense the whispers of the courtiers, their curiosity piqued by our audacity.Together, we strode towards the throne room, our resolve unyielding. As he pushed open the doors, a hush fell over the room, all eyes turning towards us.In that moment, I knew we were not just reclaiming a throne; we were reclaiming a legacy. With unwavering determination, we stepped forward, ready to confront Eugene and seize our destiny. He was frightened when he set his eyes on Derrick, but he managed to conceal it. “Derrick, what a pleasant surprise!.” I never expected you'll be back so soon.” “What are you doing on my throne uncle?.” Derrick questioned him sternly. “Oh this? I was keeping it safe and warm for you.” “I won't be needing you

“You don't have to worry about me, you can see her whenever you wish.” “It must be really tough leaving someone you love to marry a stranger.” I turned to see the owner of the voice. Sylvia smiled at me. I was flustered. She had caught me looking at Gwen hugging a stranger in the garden. “Are you jealous? She chuckled. “It can't be helped.” I replied in guilt I know you didn't mean to, you can't help it cause you love her.” “Have you ever been in love before? Is this what it feels like?.” I was forced to ask. I had never been an emotional person. I didn't even know how to express my emotions until Gwen came along. Sylvia took a deep breath and leaned on the window above the garden. One could see the garden clearly from there. “Yes I have: but clearly, I had to fulfil my obligations as a royal blood.” “Father didn't want me to marry him, he had no powers and he was a commoner. And on the other hand, you're the strongest creature among the twelve kingdoms.”

“You can stay as long as you like, courtesy of my husband to be and I.” Sylvia, the fox king's daughter, offered in smiles. I sensed she said it in a bid to spite me. Sylvia was a smallish Fox, her golden locs cascading like sunlight over her shoulders. With grace and power intertwined, she commanded the attention of all who beheld her. Her regal presence, though diminutive in stature, emanated an aura of authority that left no doubt of her sovereignty . Her gaze met mine, piercing yet gentle. “Thanks for your generosity but I'll be leaving in four days.” “There’s nothing left for me here.” I replied icily. I could barely mask the anger and jealousy in my voice. It was all thanks to her father Derrick was alive; But at the same time I couldn't stand the thought of Derrick being with someone else. A servant ran in just then.“My princess, we captured an intruder in our woods. “He says he means no harm. He's here to ensure Gwen gets home safely.” I was puzzled. Wh

She hugged me tight like I was about to disappear. I pulled her close and hugged her as I watched her cry eyes out. “I'm not dreaming.” She cried. I pressed her head close to my chest in relief. I was happy to see her again, she was back in my arms. I missed her, she was always on my mind. But things had changed, and were about to take a different dimension for the both of us. I had a debt to repay the late fox king. He had spared my life and nursed me back to health. I could still remember his last words on the day he died. I stood by the bedside of the dying king, I couldn't help but feel a wave of sorrow wash over me. His once vibrant eyes, filled with the wisdom of ages, now glistened with the sheen of approaching death. Each shallow breath he took seemed to echo through t

What I had found out didn't deter me from finding Derrick. I was mad at him but I was also hoping he would be alive. I felt stupid but I couldn't help it. There was something about our bond that was suggesting he would be alive. I kept walking, hoping I get to the fox den within the next three weeks. I was a shadow of myself. My steps were sluggish. I was weary and disappointed in myself and everyone around me. I had never really experienced lasting joy. I had been foolish enough to trust everyone all I got in return were a few knives in my back. They had stabbed and bruised me badly. Love was staying vulnerable, even when you knew you could get hurt. I guess I really loved with all my heart but each time I keep getting knocked down and disappointed by life. I hoped healing would come someday. I'll be able to let go of all the hurt and pain in my heart. I just wanted to fall in Derrick's arms and cry my eyes out. At that moment I hated him too. He had concealed the truth from me. Why

A storm was brewing up and I had no idea about it, until it was too late. When you clocked five, my friend Gaya died, leaving her ten years old son behind. Her suicide note said she was fed up. Afraid of losing your father's loyalty to his court, the alpha sent me a threat letter to spill the mysteries surrounding his wife's death. He said I should know better. I was her only friend. He had doubts about Derrick's paternity, he believed his wife had been unfaithful. There were times I saved Derrick from his father's gruesome tortures and merciless clutches. As I arrived at Aunt Maya's house, excitement bubbled within me, eager to catch up with her. However, when the servants informed me that she wasn't home, a sense of disappointment crept in. Determined not to waste the visit, I decided to make myself comfortable in her bedroom while I waited for her return.Entering Aunt Maya's bedroom felt like stepping into a sanctuary of tranquility. The soft scent of lavender filled the air, and sunlight streamed through the lace curtains, casting delicate patterns on the floor. I settled onto the plush armchair by the window, the soft cushions enveloping me as I gazed out at the peaceful garden below. But as the minutes ticked by, impatience gnawed at me. I couldn't simply sit idly by while Aunt Maya was away. As the darkness fades, I feel a gentle warmth spreading across the horizon, painting the sky with delicate hues of pink and gold. The world slowly awakens around me, as if emerging from a peaceful slumber. Each ray of light dances gracefully, casting long shadows and breathing life into every corner it touches. In this serene moment, I am filled with a sense of renewal and hope, as if anything is possible in the gentle embrace of the dawn. It gave way to the glorious sunrays which cast it's warm glow in the cave. I stood up to get a better view of the sunrise. As the warm breeze rustles through the cave entrance, I can't help but drift back to those carefree days of my childhood. I remember the laughter echoing across the meadows, mingling with the sweet scent of wildflowers. Dad's hand, rough yet gentle, clasped firmly in mine as we explored every hidden corner of our sanctuary. The tall grass swaying in rhythm with our footsteps, a symphony of nature's melody enveloping us in it
