Shay's POV

By the time I reached home, our butler quickly tells me that my parents and my siblings have already left for the event. I rushed to my bedroom, took a quick shower, slipped on a white formal dress and a pair of new high heels, did my hair and makeup in a hurry and drove to the place where the business event is taking place. It took about twenty minutes to get there, and as soon as the valet opened the door for me, I quickly jumped out of the car and speed walk inside. My parents and my siblings were just standing up ahead in front of a bunch of reporters and journalists taking pictures with their camera flashes barely blinding them.

I joined in line next to my older sister Shelby and they gave me a side glance before looking back to the cameras and smiling. I followed them inside the hall and we sat in the front row, making sure to keep a good posture with a smile on our faces just like the "perfect" family we are. After the MC made the introductions, a few of the board members from my father's company took turns going up on stage to present to the guests how good our business is running, our perfect never-ending profits and other new international business partnerships. Basically, this event is just another one of those times that my father wants to show the rest of the world just how good of a businessman he is while it boost his ego at the same time.

Straight after the main event, we went into another huge empty room for a quick family photo-shoot. There's just a couch where my parents were seated and the rest of us stood from the back in line from oldest to youngest. I plastered a fake smile on my face and looked towards the camera, waiting for the photographer's cue.

"Are those my new Jimmy Choo heels?" My other older sister, Shanelle, whispered angrily at me.

"No, they're mine." She scoffed and cast a glance down at my shoes.

"Stop lying, that is a limited edition Jimmy Choo shoes. I swear to god, if I find out that those heels are mine-"

"They're not yours!" I sharply whispered back, causing my mother to glance back at us with a hint of annoyance in her eyes.

Shanelle sharply jabbed my arm from the side and I closed my eyes in frustration and tried to focus on the camera. She may be a year older than me but sometimes she acts as if she's a lot older than any of us that she can just boss me around and drop comments of anything about me that makes my blood boil in anger. My nails dug into my palm so hard that I don't even care if it starts to bleed, as soon as the photographer says that we're all good to go, I released a low sigh of relief and followed my parents out to our car to start heading back home.

******

My father rarely speaks to me when we're at home, let alone looks me in the eye. Same thing he does with Shanelle who always talk without thinking. He only talks to Shelby and Shawn about everything regarding our family business. The tension in the house when we got back was different from the rest of the days. It was almost like we were expecting something big to happen and when dad took off his suit jacket and threw it angrily on the floor, that was our cue to escape to our rooms before he vents out on us.

"The monopoly strategy, are you kidding me?!" He starts to yell at Shawn.

Shelby and Shanelle went upstairs immediately but I remain standing by the foot of the staircase, looking back at my brother the only person stable enough to accept dad's anger all the time. Since he was recently appointed as the new CEO of Falcon Group, my father didn't wanna retire just yet because he wants to make sure that Shawn is capable enough of running the company by himself never mind that Shelby is also working alongside Shawn in taking care of other business affairs. I was never close with my sisters, Shawn is the only person in this house that I can rely on and he would do anything for me.

"I took care of it dad."

Dad took a closer step towards him with both his hands on his hips and a furious look on his face.

"Then why the hell did it show up with the marketing performance with only 5 percent?! Do you think 5 percent is perfect enough to be included in the marketing chart?!"

Mom placed her hand on Shawn's shoulder and started saying something in a low tone to dad.

"I don't give a damn! By tomorrow, I need that number erased or you and your marketing team will have a problem."

He yelled back at Shawn before storming away. I always feel sorry that Shawn is only one who is mostly pressured but, there's nothing I can do to help him. His problems with dad is just their business and my mother never fails to remind me that every time I try to interfere. I slowly made my way back to my room and took a shower before getting ready for bed and looking forward to another day of work tomorrow. When I walked out of my bathroom, I was surprised to see my mother standing inside my room with her arms folded and eyes set on the floor. I continued drying my hair with a towel and went and sat at my vanity without saying a word.

"Why were you late tonight?" She asked with a stern voice.

"My yoga classes took longer than I thought, sorry."

She turned around and glared at me in the mirror.

"Sorry is not gonna cut it Shay. This type of events is very important that we all show up as a family, do you get that?" I slowly nod my head.

"Yoga classes and whatever activities you do nowadays can come later. Anyway, clear your schedule for tomorrow afternoon. I set up a date for you to meet a very handsome and successful man who might be your future husband someday."

I turned around in my seat and frowned at her. She can't be serious right?

"What? Why mom? I told you, I'm not ready for this type of things yet."

She made a 'tsk' noise with her tongue and slowly strolled back towards the door.

"Don't be ridiculous Shay, you're nearly 25 which is the perfect age to get married. Just like I did, and don't worry, he's not the only one in line. So just meet the guy and see if he's your type."

I stood up and chuckled in disbelief.

"Why me? Shelby and Shawn are almost reaching their thirties yet you're not forcing them to get married!"

She opened the door to my room and looked back at me with a straight look on her face that just makes me feel even more frustrated than ever.

"That's because they still have a lot to do first for this family. You on the other hand, not so much."

With that being said, she walked out of my room and slammed the door behind her. I ran my fingers through my hair and groaned angrily. I can't let this arrange marriage thing happen. Not now when I'm still working on my plan to walk out of this house for good without any look back.

Jason's POVThe silence in the room was starting to get more unbearable. I checked my watch again for the second time and gently closed my eyes in frustration when I saw that it was almost eleven thirty already and Chase is now more than late. I usually handle all the meetings by myself but when he suddenly called me earlier today to inform me that he's coming back to work in time for today's meeting, I was curious about the reason why. Firstly, Chase always find meetings boring even though he's my business partner and plays an important role in our company he will always have an excuse to skip important meetings like this one. Second, I know Chase better than anyone else since he's also my best friend, and I also know how much he despise his older brother Matthew Evans who's also present in the room today as one of the shareholders. So if he's suddenly interested in coming in today, than Matthew must be the reason because he loathes how much Matthew contributes in the business. If he

Shay's POVBlind dates are the death of me. No matter how many I went to and how many guys my mother set me up with, I still don't have a likeable reason to go meet the guy on a stupid blind date. The guys are not the problem, I'll admit that some of the guys I've meet on a blind date are actually good looking and fun to talk to but I'm just not into any of them. It's not that my standards are that high it's just that, I just haven't met the right one yet. But that is not part of my long term plan right now, to be in a relationship. Maybe once I moved out from home and start living my life than maybe I'll consider seeing someone that loves me for who I really am rather than the background I have.As soon as the car stopped in front of the salon, my phone started ringing inside my purse. I took my phone out and sighed when I saw 'mom' flashing on the screen."Hello mom.""Are you at the salon yet?" I rolled my eyes and glanced out the window.Of course she would call just to make sure

Jason's POVJogging every morning is like a daily routine for me and Chase. He would always show up at my apartment every 6am on the dot as my morning alarm and we would jog down the streets and follow the familiar trail to the park and run a few more laps before we circle back to my place. Chase is usually the chatty one, always talking about any random things that includes girls just to slow me down. But this morning was an exception. He had a serious look on his face that I've rarely seen a few times, and he was actually focused on jogging that he's suddenly running a few paces ahead of me. I caught up to him and shot him a curious glance while trying to keep up my pace with him."You okay dude?" His jaw tightened as he quickly glanced back at me."Yeah, why?" He replied with a hint of rage in his tone."Just asking. So how was that date with Falcon's daughter yesterday?"As soon as the question left my mouth, he immediately slows down and stopped running while placing his hands on

Shay's POVAround noon, I checked the time on my phone and saw that it was almost 4pm. Since boredom is my only friend, I texted Sylvia to let her know that I'm on my way to meet her at work so we can go to her place together and hang out. I quickly changed into some casual jeans and a light top and called a cab to come pick me up cos I don't feel like taking my car or in the mood to drive. Ten minutes later the taxi pulled up in front of the company's building and I paid the driver and stepped out of the vehicle with the cool afternoon breeze blowing through my hair.I texted Sylvia again to let her know that I'm waiting for her outside and she texted me back a minute later, saying that she's almost done and she'll be down in a while. For that reason, I went into the café nearby and bought myself an iced Americano and came back out front and waited again. It was almost half past five when she finally texted back that she's on her way down now and I've almost finished my third drink f

Shay's POVEvery morning is like the same routine repeating itself every day. I get ready for work and left home in my casual clothes and then later change in my car in a suitable work outfit. My mother always leaves home every morning just to meet up with her friends and have breakfast at a fancy restaurant. Sometimes I wonder whether her friends have a life or has other things to do rather than meeting up with my mom every day and talk about their boring lifestyle. My father and Shawn are the only two people who would take their time having breakfast at home first before leaving together for work. They would usually spend that time in talking about what they'll be doing for today, who will they be meeting, business things and whatsoever.I know Shelby is always having breakfast at her favorite restaurant before going straight to work. I even saw her once drinking coffee with some guy, it could be her secret boyfriend or some guy she's just seeing but honestly I highly doubt that she

The benefits are good, the plan is brilliant, and they agree with my idea. It's perfect.Mr. Russo stood up and starts to shake Matt's hand and Chase's as well, I stood up from my seat and shook his hand politely and to the rest of his team advisors and lawyer. Matt starts to escort them out of the room and my eyes quickly snapped back to Chase who slumped back in his seat with a heavy sigh. What bothers me about him was that, he was wearing his dark shades the whole time and never bothered to take them off during the meeting. I cleared my throat to get his attention and he stood up again and faced me."You were late again today." He just nods his head and stared at the portrait hanging on the wall near the door."I had to meet up with someone first. Thought it was important but I guess I was wrong."With his shades on I couldn't

Shay's POV"He has that cool, boss like demeanor you know? Sometimes I get shocked of how intimidating he can be, like he has this on and off switch that he can press anytime to become scary while dealing with work and switched back to the kind and cool guy he really is. That's like one of the things that I like about him, he surely knows how to handle himself really well without any help from anyone."The whole time Sylvia was going on and on about Jason, my eyes were fixated on her expression the whole time. It's only a matter of time till she realizes that she could be in love with him. I don't know him that well but she sure does, and it's probably not that hard to like a guy like Jason. He's good looking, has that hint of an aussie accent in his voice, very professional at work and I can tell that he's actually a nice guy even without Sylvia telling me that he really is.Sylvia and I are more like best friends than cousins. Shay's POV"I think the lawyers can handle this part." I placed my pen down on the table and intertwine my fingers together in front of me before looking across the table at Mr. Morris, the director of the company. As much as I like the way he easily comes up with ways of running the business, it is still my job to help him make the better decision by the end of the day. Right now, I'm starting to feel unsettled about all the other confusing details of the profiting process that I just can't seem to come up with a solution that we both can agree on. I glanced back at Mr. Morris and focus my attention back on him."Yes, okay, but perhaps we should consider letting one of the board members know about this so we can also consider their opinions about this matter. What do you say?"He stares down at the table and rubs his white beard with his hand, obviously thinking about my suggestion. He suddenly looks up again and then closed the file in front of him."I agree. But first things first,

~3 months later ~Shanelle POVLife has a funny way of taking unexpected turns. As I sit here, reflecting on the whirlwind of events that have unfolded in my life, it's hard to believe how much has changed in such a short span of time. Traveling, modeling, and chasing my dreams have taken on a whole new meaning. Vincent, with his enigmatic presence, crashed into my world like a silent storm, shaking up everything I thought I knew. And truth be told, I'm grateful for that unexpected collision. Before Vincent entered the picture, my life revolved around two things: traveling and my modeling career. Shanelle POVI sat on my bed the next morning, clutching my phone tightly in my hands. The screen displayed a seemingly never-ending stream of notifications, each one more anxiety-inducing than the last. My heart raced as I watched my video from the frat party trend across social media platforms. It was as if people couldn't get enough of it, sharing it from one corner of the internet to another. And with each share, a flood of comments and feedback poured in, all directed at me.I had worked so hard to maintain my "perfect" reputation. People saw me as a walking embodiment of flawlessness, and I had meticulously crafted that image. But now, this video threatened to expose the cracks in my carefully constructed facade. It made me feel vulnerable and exposed to the judgment of others, and it terrified me.

It was already 9:00 p.m., and I hurriedly surveyed myself in the mirror, making sure every detail of my outfit was just right.I had opted for a sleek black dress that hugged my curves in all the right places. Its off-the-shoulder design added a touch of sophistication, while the knee-length skirt showcased a playful edge. I paired it with strappy heels that elongated my legs and completed the look with a statement necklace and a bold red lip. I couldn't help but feel confident in this ensemble.Beatrice and Kayleen burst into my room with equally limited excitement for tonight's mission or whatever they wanted to call it.
