Rain

I never thought that I would be happy again. That I will smile or laugh again.

I never thought I would be with Caleb again.

My light mixes with a shadow that comes out of Caleb’s body, forming a kaleidoscope of colors around us.

“You have powers as well?” I ask.

“Yes.”

I reach out my hand, the colors dancing on my skin. On his as well. I look at his face and, for a moment, I forget to breathe.

I don’t have a clear image of how he looks, but all the colors make him… so alluring. So ethereal. I can’t keep my eyes off of him.

I trace his left cheek with the tip of my fingers. “You are so beautiful.”

He replies with a grunt followed by whispered words that I don’t quite understand. Did he say ‘goddess?’

My fingers travel across his face, and I try to memorize the shape of his nose and mouth. The colors keep bathing us, making it possible for me to see his eyes. Not for long though, but long enough to never forget their color—silver. Just like those of Raven.
