Chapter 260 Despair

Jessica woke up groggily.

The night still lingering, with the full moon hanging high in the sky, its bright white light spilling over the curtains and the carpet. The room was chilly, and Jessica felt a sense of confusion, unsure of what night it was.

"It must be a dream!"

She convinced herself. She hadn't been outside, hadn't seen the magnetic waves on the rooftop, hadn't seen helicopters, and certainly hadn't seen planes crashing into the sea. It was all just a scary dream.

"Jessica, don't be afraid, it's nothing."

She began to deceive herself, her heart feeling heavy, her nails still gritty with sand. But cruel reality reminded her that it wasn't a dream. Helicopters had indeed been shot down into the sea. She could almost hear people cheering for victory, hear them saying that Marcus was finally dead.

"Marcus..." No, it couldn't be true. How could he die when she hadn't? How dare he leave before her?

If he did leave before her, she wouldn't spare him even as a ghost. Jessica felt
