Chapter 57 “ Calm before the strom“

Selena sat patiently, her gaze lingering on the mirror as a faint unease crept over her as she awaited her bridal outfit. Betty had told her it was personally chosen by Hudson a thought that should made her excited but it made her heart ache.

She sat before the mirror, two maids gently drying her long, silken hair, while another carefully painted designs on her feet as part of the royal tradition. Her skin glowed from the cold milk and rose bath she had taken, adding a soft blush to her cheeks that seemed to only intensify under the warm lights.

She was draped in a delicate, thin white robe, looking every bit of the ethereal bride, her gaze drifting to the door with each sound.

"We are so happy, Luna selena. I pray for your successful marriage." One maid said, combing her hair gently.

Selena offered a faint smile, though the words seemed to echo around her with a strange hollowness. “Thank you,” she whispered, her voice softer than she intended.
