I was jolted awake by the shock of cold water splashing over my face. The icy liquid soaked through my clothes, sending a violent shiver down my spine.
“You disgrace! How dare you disobey me?” came the thunderous voice of my father, the pack Alpha. I immeditally looked down at the ground, knowing better than to meet his gaze. I wasn’t allowed to look anyone in the eye, especially not my father, the Alpha. To do so would be seen as punishable, something a pack slave like me could never afford.
"You will not leave this pack until i say so, do you understand? You belong here. You will learn your place, or I will make sure you regret every second of your worthless life."
“Yes, Alpha,” I replied, my voice flat and devoid of emotion. The words came automatically, as it drilled into me over the years. I was too exhausted to feel anything anymore, too drained from hearing the same degrading words every single day.
“No food for this week. You will just survive on water !” he screamed, his Alpha voice booming through the basement. Which made me flinch but i didn’t move, didn’t cry out. A week without food. My stomach twisted at the thought, but I pushed it aside I had learned long ago that it wouldn’t make a difference. I was little suprise that this time i got away with just a punishemnt.
"Go see the pack healer and then come to my office" he commanded in an annoyed tone while walking out.
My body shivered and my palm suddenly began to sweat. Slowly. My father’s office was the last place I ever wanted to be. It was where every one of my punishments had been coldly decided—where my fate had been sealed time and time again.
...........
My feet moved on their own, carrying me toward my father’s office. Every step felt heavier, my heart sinking deeper into the pit of my stomach. When I reached the door, I knocked, the sound barely audible over the pounding in my chest.
"Enter," came his cold, commanding voice. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open, stepping into the room.
When I entered, my eyes immediately fell on my brothers, their mates, Tylor and the some of the pack elders, all seated around my father’s desk. As expected, the moment they saw me, their expressions twisted with disgust.
“What’s this worthless slave doing here?” Michael’s My brother Jason's mate sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. She snorted after, mocking my very existence, as if my presence alone was an insult to them all.
"Father, what’s the meaning of this? Why is this murderer here?” came the sharp, bitter voice of my youngest brother Cable, his words laced with contempt. I could feel his glare burning into me, but I didn’t dare look up. I had grown used to the title they branded me with "murderer" though the wound it left never seemed to heal.
"She must be here for one of her punishments," someone whispered, their voice dripping with amusement. I could hear the smirks and snickers they were trying to hide, mocking me as usual.
Then, my father cleared his throat, the sound slicing through the cruel whispers. "Selena, look up," he commanded, his tone unusually calm. Too calm. My breath quickened, but I kept my head lowered. His sudden shift in demeanor made my skin crawl. Why was he speaking to me like this? Why did he want me to look at him?
"Calm yourself down and look up!" he yelled, his voice snapping through the air, forcing my eyes up to meet his. His gaze was cold and unreadable as always, but what he said next sent a shockwave through me.
"You are free from your slavery, from today onwards. You no longer have to continue your punishment."
The words hit me like a blow. I stumbled back, disbelief washing over me like ice water. Had I heard him correctly? I searched his eyes, desperate to find some hint of a lie, anything that would make sense of this moment. But there was nothing. His eyes were blank, his face void of any emotion.
It didn’t feel real. How could it be real? .I glanced around the room, expecting laughter, expecting someone to tell me it was all a joke. But there was only silence. My brothers exchanged looks, their smug expressions faltering. They were just as shocked as I was. No one had expected this, least of all me.
“Did you not hear me, Selena?” my father said, his voice cold and impatient now.
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. For so long, I had dreamed of this moment of being released from the torment, the constant punishment. But now that it was happening, I didn’t know how to feel. What did this even mean?
Tylor, who had been silent up until now, shifted uncomfortably. “ Alpha why—” he started, but my father cut him off with a glare.
“This is not up for discussion,” my father snapped, his tone sharp again. “Selena’s punishment is over. She will serve the pack in other ways now.”
Selena POVI was to be mated to the cold-hearted monster. That’s what people call Alpha Hudson Knight, the ruthless Alpha whose name alone strikes fear into the hearts of thousands. A wolf who knows no mercy. This can’t be happening. Now, I finally understand why Alpha Antonio was so eager to free me from my supposed punishment. He didn’t care about my well-being, he just wanted to send me away to die.The moment I returned to my tiny room, a group of maids barged in without hesitation. Their hands immediately went to work, sifting through my meager belongings. It didn’t take long, after all, I had so little that everything I owned fit into a small, battered trunk. But what slowed them down wasn’t the lack of possessions, it was their constant mocking.“Is this all you have?” one sneered, holding up a worn dress with distaste. “Pathetic.”"How does she expect to live in the Crimson Knight Pack with rags like these?" another chimed in, her voice dripping with malice.I stood there, sil
Selena I was getting dolled up to look like a princess, an Alpha's daughter. The maids fussed over every strand of hair, every fold of fabric, changing me into something I hardly recognized. My reflection stared back at me, but it felt like a mask, a façade, the elegant dress, the carefully applied makeup, the jewelled hairpin, all part of a show. It's a show meant to disguise the truth.Despite the outward beauty, I felt like a lamb being dressed for slaughter. Anxiety clawed at my insides, my heart pounding in my chest. I had barely ever stepped outside the confines of my own pack, and now I was being sent away, to an enemy pack, no less. I had no idea how to act, or how to carry myself in a place where I knew no one. What would they expect of me? How was I supposed to behave ?The fear ground at me, twisting my stomach into painful knots. Maybe Hudson would force himself on me, like a beast claiming its prey. I’d expect nothing less from a man who knew no mercy. "Finally,
Alpha Hudson Knight’s POV"Why?" I grit my teeth, feeling my wolf stir in agitation. "I just want to ask why the Moon Goddess delights in playing with her subjects like this. Why must she be so cruel?"Thirteen years. I had been searching for my mate for thirteen long years. I gave up on the idea of finding her, buried the hope deep within me, and forced my wolf to accept that we were mateless.I had finally accepted my fate. Hardened my heart. And now, she sends her to me.The daughter of my enemy. How am I supposed to accept her? How am I supposed to embrace someone who comes from the very pack I despise? My wolf growled low within me, torn between desire and hatred. She was supposed to be the one to complete me. But how could she, when her very existence was a reminder of betrayal?"The Moon Goddess, why must you always twist the knife when I least expect it?"I couldn’t tear my eyes away from her crystal blue gaze. There was so much vulnerability there, an innocence that cut throu
Selena's POVWhy am I able to smell his scent? Why is it giving me butterflies in my stomach? I shouldn’t feel this way. I was scared of him, terrified, even thinking about what he might do to me. But despite the fear gripping my heart, there was something else, something in me that whispered against it, something that told me he wouldn’t hurt me.His presence was overwhelming, but not in the way I expected. His scent... sandalwood, earthy and warm, wrapped around me like a strange comfort, making my thoughts whirl. I felt so confused, so unsure. Why was my body reacting like this when my mind screamed at me to stay afraid?I knew the moment he held me that he sensed it, I don’t have a wolf. It was impossible to hide, and yet, he didn’t say anything. His expression remained cold, emotionless, as if my greatest shame was nothing to him. Then, without a word about it, he turned and simply asked for me to follow him to the car. I wasn’t sure what he was thinking or feeling. "Alpha Hudso
Once we arrived at the pack, Alpha Hudson got out of the car without a word. I watched as he strode away, disappearing into a massive building, what I assumed was the packhouse of the Crimson Knight Pack, leaving me alone .Should I follow him, or stay here and wait? Every instinct screamed at me not to risk angering him further than he already was. But the longer I sat there, the more uneasy I became.Soon, I saw a few omega she-wolves emerge from the pack house, giggling and whispering among themselves. Their hushed voices carried hints of excitement, their eyes flicking toward me curiously.“Oh, keep quiet, all of you. Don’t make our Luna uncomfortable,” a woman called out, stepping forward with a bright smile on her face. She had blonde hair, brown eyes, and pale skin that glowed in the sunlight."Hello! I’m Betty, Beta Ethan’s mate. Welcome to the Crimson Knight Pack." Without warning, she pulled me into a warm hug, catching me off guard. Instinctively, I bowed to her while sayin
Alpha Hudson KnightShe looked charming asking me to eat with her, a rare softness in her voice. My wolf was practically purring with contentment, enjoying the closeness with our mate. Yet, even as I relished the moment, my mind was troubled by her odd behavior. She seemed to flinch at the slightest noise, her eyes betraying an intense, hidden pain. The way she reacted to her hunger, so distraught and apologetic, it was deeply troubling. My mate seemed... abused. The very thought filled me with a simmering rage. I couldn't think of , what she might have endured, but the idea of her suffering ignited a fierce protectiveness within me. If my suspicions were confirmed, I didn’t know what I would do. The thought of anyone harming her made my blood boil.I opened my mouth as she offered me another spoonful of ramen soup. But as I noticed she wasn’t eating anymore, I took the spoon from her hand and continued to feed her. When she stopped my hand, her voice was soft, “I’m full.”I frowned,
Selena POV My heart pounded, each beat a reminder of my shame. I sat on the edge of the bed, nervously twisting my fingers, my knuckles white from the tension. I couldn’t stop thinking about Alpha Hudson, those cold, unreadable eyes that had looked over my broken body earlier. He must be disgusted. The thought stabbed at me, twisting painfully in my chest. My breath caught as the silence of the room pressed down, suffocating me. Did he notice the scars on my back? The bruises? My fingers brushed over the fresh marks on my arms, and I felt my face heat up in shame. No Alpha would want someone like me, a weak, broken omega without a wolf, without a future. He probably thought I would be a burden. A weak, pathetic girl with nothing to offer.I looked out of the window. The night grew darker but Alpha Hudson was still nowhere to be found. The image of him storming out with a fierce expression replayed again and again in my mind. The thought of him going to the Moonlight Pack worried m
Author Pov In the dimly lit room, Hudson shifted back into his human form, his eyes immediately drawn to Selena’s trembling lips. It was a captivating sight, one that momentarily stole his breath. Droplets of water clung to her hair, sliding down her skin, tracing her shoulders, and soaking into the fabric of her dress. The wet clung to her body, outlining every curve, a sight which was not good for his manly urge. Urge he fought to control. Her crystal blue eyes glowed. It was a look that pierced through the air, binding him to her in a way he hadn’t expected. Despite her fragility, she had a hold on him that was impossible to ignore. Gently, he lifted her from the bathtub, her body soft and vulnerable against his. She felt light, delicate. Without a word, he carried her to his bed, laying her down carefully. His fingers moved almost on their own, trailing up the sleeve of her soaked dress. The fabric clung to her skin, and with a soft tug, he loosened the lace, allowing it to fa
