Chapter 97

The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape. Sarah and Nicholas reluctantly decided it was time to head back. The sky was darkening, with clouds gathering on the horizon, threatening to unleash a storm at any moment.

"Let's go," Nicholas said, his voice tinged with regret. "We don't want to get caught in the rain."

Sarah nodded, her eyes scanning the horizon. "It's going to be a big storm."

They walked towards the horses, their pace quickening with the wind beginning to pick up. Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder boomed through the air, making Sarah jump.

Luna, Sarah's horse, was spooked by the thunder; her eyes rolling wildly, she danced nervously. Sarah tried to calm her down, but before she could even mount, Luna bolted, taking off at a gallop.

Sarah screamed, her voice lost in the wind. She clung to the horse's back, her hands tangled in Luna's mane. Nicholas shouted after her, his heart racing with fear.

"Luna, stop! Sarah, hold on!"

But Luna was beyond control,
