Alexa had been starting to feel a little more at ease. It had been three days since she last felt the presence of Alpha Valle. The fear she usually felt about him appearing out of nowhere and taking her away was fading. She began to think that he might not be after her anymore. Maybe she had just been too paranoid, like Leonard suggested.

Normally, Alpha Valle would have found her and dragged her away already, so since he hadn’t shown up, perhaps he really wasn’t looking for her.

Following Leonard’s advice, Alexa had been staying at home, avoiding work, but her small apartment felt really stifling. She needed to get out of the house, so she decided it was the right time to go grocery shopping. She quickly changed into something comfortable—a faded denim jacket, a plain white t-shirt, and some old jeans—and stepped out the door. She hoped this little outing would give her a break from the constant anxiety she felt.
