Kinsey felt anger in her veins. She tried to grab Blair's dress away as she yelled, "I worked hard only to save Connor's life, not to pay for your luxurious dream!"
"Don't touch my precious dress with your dirty hands!" Blair argued as she tried to avoid, "You should ask your loser husband for help if you need money for Connor's medical treatment! Aren't you the best at seducing men?"
Kinsey's anger reached a boiling point and couldn't help but slap Blair.
"How dare you harm my sweet daughter! You ungrateful bitch!" Olive tried to grab Kinsey's hair to fight back.
"ENOUGH!"
A roar sounded at the door, making the women in chaos stop. It was Jonathan, the host of the house.
Blair hurriedly covered her face and ran to Jonathan to complain about Kinsey, "Dad, Kinsey is jealous that I'm going to marry Gordon. She's trying to ruin my dress and even threatens to seduce my fiancé."
Kinsey couldn't believe how shameless Blair could upside the truth. She wanted to explain but Jonathan didn't give her any chance.
"Apologize to your sister, Kinsey."
"NO! She's never my sister! My only sister already died and you even want her only son to die now!" Kinsey could no longer control her emotions and blurted out.
"Don't talk to me about that little bastard!"
A resounding slap was placed on her face, making the corner of her mouth bleed. Nursing her stinging cheek, Kinsey glared at her father, her eyes reflecting both defiance and hurt. He never did side with her in any circumstances like she never was his daughter.
"Stop glaring at me!"
"Do you think I should still respect you? You don't deserve to be our father at all!" She shouted, anger seeping through her bones.
Jonathan raised a hand to slap Kinsey again, but someone stopped him this time. Brandon held Jonathan's wrist tight so that he couldn't move an inch close to Kinsey's face.
"You dare not harm her again," Brandon warned coldly as he noticed the bruise on Kinsey's face.
"Brandon Simons? Why are you here?" Jonathan was shocked to see Brandon appear in their residence unannounced.
"I am here to pick up my dear wife," Brandon stated as he gently examined Kinsey's injured face. "It is clearly she is not safe here."
"Does it hurt," he asked softly, tracing a finger on Kinsey's cheek.
Kinsey blinked as she answered, "A little."
How could Brandon know she was here? Was he coming here to help her?
Blair rolled her eyes while looking at Brandon and Kinsey's sweetness. "Brandon, Father is just disciplining her. If you don't watch her well, she'll easily cheat behind you."
“My wife doesn't need anyone's discipline." Brandon retorted, "Only people who love to cheat were so fond of labeling others as cheaters."
"You!" Blair balled her hands into fists out of anger. "Well, I don't have to waste my time with any poor uneducated guy like you."
Blair deliberately scanned over what Brandon was wearing with a look of disgust. Brandon was indeed handsome but couldn't even afford a simple famous brand. No wonder that people called him the unwanted son.
Yet, she would never know all of his attire was privately customized.
Kinsey stepped forward as she couldn't bear all this, "You're more like the uneducated one instead. No pretty dress can hide your ugly soul!"
"You!" Blair wanted to lay a hand on her but having Brandon beside, Kinsey was like having a group of men protecting her. Her eyes lighted as soon as she glimpsed a figure at the door. "Gordon!"
"Gordon, I can't believe Kinsey purposely came here only to show off with her new husband," Blair complained, pouting her lips like a child. "Darling, we must find a more expensive wedding gown than this."
Gordon didn't even care to listen to Blair as his eyes firmly fixed on the scene of how close Kinsey and Brand held each other. Jealousy crept into Gordon's expression as he observed the evident sweetness between the newlyweds.
Feeling rejected, Blair changed the topic, "Gordon darling, what brought you here?"
Blair's question took Gordon out of his reverie. Attempting to navigate his complicated emotions, he handed over a family's invitation. "I came to deliver this invitation from the Ellison family."
The mention of the Ellison family, the second grand family in the hierarchy after the Simons, triggered a wicked smirk on Blair's face. She immediately grabbed the invitation and showed it to Kinsey and Brandon.
"Wow, someone fancies himself part of the grand Simons family, yet you couldn't secure a simple invitation," Blair laughed, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Brandon sneered. If only they knew that the first invitation of every year was especially for him. He just wasn't interested in this kind of party.
"Blair, I don't have time for your bullshit," Kinsey didn't want to waste her time anymore. She came here for reasons today. She stepped close to Olive, "I don't care if you're having a wedding or a dinner party. I'm here just to get my money for Connor."
Fearing Kinsey might spill more family secrets, Olive transferred her some money but whispered a threatening reminder, "Remember, we still have custody of Connor."
Kinsey fell to heavy powerlessness from the pleasure of success. She was still lost in her mind as Brandon took her inside his car.
"Let me treat your cheek," Brandon asked as get applied ice packs to Kinsey's cheek.
Kinsey managed a weak smile, "Thank you. I didn't expect you to be here."
Brandon sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Well, I didn't expect this family drama either. I couldn't stand by and watch when you are still my wife."
Though it might only be a short marriage, Kinsey was still moved. "Thank you!" She mumbled.
Witnessing her tears, Brandon was taken aback. He intended to say something else, but an abrupt braking caused a jolt, bringing their lips together unexpectedly.
"I apologize for the sudden stop, Mr. Simons," Max who turned to check but caught them kissed, stuttered as he discreetly averted his eyes.
Kinsey hurried into the house as the car stopped. Brandon was a little behind due to taking a phone call from his friend, James Ellison.
When he entered the house, his eyes glided across the transformed rooms of his old house, now exuding a warmth it hadn't seen in years. She successfully made it a cozy home.
Sensing she was bustling about in the kitchen, he approached and enveloped her from behind. Kinsey squealed a little; her tiny voice was music in Brandon's ears.
"Brandon, what are you doing?" Kinsey asked, turning to face Brandon. They were so close together, his breath fanning on her face.
"Do you want me to help you revenge?" He inquired mischievously, his tone suggesting a plan that involved settling scores with Olive, Blair, Jonathan, and Gordon.
"How? What do you mean by that?" Perplexed, Kinsey sought clarification.
Sporting a sly smirk, Brandon felt a sense of accomplishment.
"A friend invited me to the party of the Ellison. I want you to come with me as my wife."
"The Ellison? The same party that Blair was bragging about?" Curiosity was evident in her tone.
"Exactly. Would you like to witness the look on your family's face when they see you attending the party?" Brandon asked, eyeing for Kinsey's reaction.
"We will attend together." Brandon stepped closer, his lips almost on hers, "And in return, you need to give me a baby."
Brandon and Kinsey slowly cut into the cake, and as the slice was pulled away, a collective gasp filled the room. The inside of the cake was a brilliant blue."It's a boy!" shouted Taylor, throwing her hands up in celebration. Those who had bet on a boy cheered, while those who had hoped for a girl joined in the joyous laughter. Cooper lifted Connor into the air, both of them laughing with excitement. "I have a playmate," Connor shouted.Brandon laughed and then turned to Kinsey, his eyes misty with emotion. "We’re having a son."Kinsey's smile was radiant. "Yes, we are. I can’t wait to meet him."Amelia clapped her hands, beaming with joy. "Congratulations! A little boy is going to bring so much happiness into your lives."Chelsea hugged Kinsey tightly. "I'm so happy for you both. This baby is going to be so loved."Grandpa Benjamin's eyes twinkled as he motioned for everyone to gather around. "I have a special gift for Brandon and Kinsey," he began, his voice warm with affection. "I
"If you ever look at her like that again, I will make your lives here like hell. Don't test me," Brandon said as he stepped forward, his voice low and menacing.Thomas and Johnny exchanged a wary glance, the threat in Brandon's tone cutting through their bravado. They knew all too well the reach of Brandon’s power, even within prison walls."Alright, alright," Johnny said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "No need to get all worked up. What do you want, Brandon?"Brandon took a deep breath, trying to control the anger boiling inside him. "I want to know why. Why did you kill my parents?"Thomas's face twisted with bitterness. "Elliot was always the golden child, wasn’t he? Dad’s favorite, the one trusted with everything. And what were we? The leftovers. We had to scrape by while he got it all handed to him."Johnny nodded, his expression mirroring Thomas’s resentment. "We hated him. We hated how he looked down on us, how he had everything we wanted. But we never meant to kill your
In the morning, Brandon gently caressed Kinsey’s scars, his fingers tracing the faint lines left by Blair’s brutal whipping. His jaw tightened as he thought about the pain his wife must have endured. His heart ached, a mix of anger and sorrow. He would make sure Blair paid for what she had done."Good morning, beautiful," Brandon whispered as he noticed Kinsey slowly flickering her eyelids open.Kinsey smiled, her cheeks flushing pink at the memory of the passionate night they had shared. They had both been insatiable, rediscovering each other most intimately. "Good morning," she replied softly, her voice filled with contentment.Brandon’s eyes softened as he looked at her. "How are you feeling?" he asked, his tone gentle."Better," Kinsey said, her smile widening. "Especially after last night."Brandon chuckled, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "I’m glad to hear that. What do you want for breakfast? I can have anything you like brought up."Kinsey’s face turned serious as she propp
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Brandon's eyes widened in surprise, then filled with a joy so intense it took his breath away. "A baby?" he repeated, his voice choking with emotion.Kinsey nodded, tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. "Yes, Brandon. We're going to have a baby."A broad smile spread across Brandon's face, and he let out a joyful laugh, lifting Kinsey off her feet and spinning her around gently. "We're having a baby!" he exclaimed, his voice ringing with excitement. He set her down carefully, cupping her face in his hands and kissing her deeply.Kinsey melted into the kiss, feeling the warmth of his love and the reassurance of his touch. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. "I was so nervous to tell you. I thought you wouldn't like to have a baby yet," she admitted, her voice soft against his lips.Brandon pulled back just enough to look into her eyes. "Nervous? Kinsey, this is the best news I've ever heard. You've made me the happies
The soft murmur of conversations and the clinking of champagne glasses filled the elegant ballroom where Taylor and Daniel’s wedding was in full swing. Brandon couldn’t take his eyes off his wife, Kinsey. She looked stunning in the custom gown he had arranged, a delicate creation that seemed to shimmer under the soft lights. Brandon himself was dressed in a tailored suit that complemented her dress perfectly, a symbol of their unity and love.As they stood together, Kinsey glanced up at him, feeling his gaze. "You look absolutely beautiful," Brandon murmured, his voice filled with admiration and love. "I can't believe how lucky I am to have you by my side."Kinsey blushed, a warm flush spreading across her cheeks. "Thank you, Brandon. You look incredibly handsome too. This suit... it’s perfect."Brandon smiled, his eyes twinkling with affection. "I wanted us to look our best tonight. It’s a special day for Taylor and Daniel, and I wanted to make sure we could celebrate it fully, as a
As Brandon and Kinsey stepped through the door of the Simons' Mansion, the last person they expected to see was Cooper. The man stood in the foyer, his posture tense but his eyes determined."Cooper?" Kinsey's voice trembled with shock. "What are you doing here?"Brandon’s initial reaction was fury. "What the hell are you doing in my house without any prior notice?" His voice was hard, filled with protective anger.Cooper raised his hands in a gesture of peace. "Please, Brandon, Kinsey. I know this is unexpected, but I need to talk to both of you. It's important."Brandon crossed his arms, his jaw tight. "You've got five minutes. Make it quick."Cooper took a deep breath, his eyes meeting Kinsey’s. "I'm here to tell you the truth about Connor. He’s my son, Kinsey. Alexa and I... we were together."The words hung in the air like a bombshell. Kinsey’s knees buckled, and she stumbled back, leaning against the wall for support but Brandon was quick to help her. "What? Connor... your son?"
