MIRANDA

The sound of gunshots filled my ears.

Mel and I hid by the car, the stone that had been thrown at her had already

ruined her phone, so I took out mine and gave it to her so she could call 911.

After she did, she quickly told them that men were shooting at us and mentioned our location as well.

After the call ended, she said, "I'm afraid we can't keep waiting here. Those men are getting closer."

As they advanced, we began to hear their footsteps and Mel said, "Run, Miranda. Run as fast as you can, I will take them."

"No, what if they kill you? I cannot leave you here," I replied.

Mel kept insisting that I leave, but I didn't want to. While we were arguing, the men finally appeared in front of us.

I was able to count about five of them before Mel screamed, "Run, Miranda!"

I got up and wanted to run, but one of the men caught me. The moment he did, I punched him,

but he dodged my punch and covered my face with a handkerchief.
