Chapter 12

I turned to Alex who was looking at me with an angry smile behind me. His golden brown eyes flashed as he stared at my expression.

"Even to the ends of the world I will always find you, Caroline." He held out his hand to me.

For a moment my breath caught in my lungs. Alex wore a black suit with a white shirt. The top two buttons of his shirt were open. His hair was unusually neatly combed ... and he looked so handsome that it made me freeze in place. His hand that was still outstretched moved impatiently to grab my hand, I reflexively took my book and bag before he pulled me out of the cafe.

"Alex-"

"Shut up, Caroline." cut in Alex, then he pushed me resolutely into his car before slamming the door shut making me jump on the spot. I know he must be very angry by now. But how could he find me? The cafe is not a place I usually go to and it's quite far from home.
