"No." Alex gritted his teeth. He looks a little angry.

Iblinked in surprise at her stinging response. "Why not?" I replied more calmly. I'm grateful the current tone of voice doesn't sound disappointed.

'I knew you would say that again," he grumbled and then he let go of my arms from his body and sat on the edge of the bed, his back to me.

"Why not?" I repeated again now more curt. "Because I'm only eighteen? Alex, if you can think beyond your illusions about me right now, you'll realize I'm already one hundred and eight- one hundred and nine next month!"

He looked at me with an irritated expression. "But inside your head and everyone's heads you're still eighteen, Cara!" he exclaimed in frustration.

"Inside my head?!" I snapped back. "I know

I'm one hundred and eight years old!"

"No. Your childish attitude still shows you're eighteen years old."
