“Beatrice!!!!” her boss called angrily and She immediately knew this whole thing was going to be only about her now. It was going to be a disaster.
“He grabbed my ass!” She yelled. At the moment, She didn't give two cents if She was sacked. She felt disrespected and the plan was to treat the situation as such.
Daniel who was beginning to dust the coffee off his suit raised his head abruptly, looking at the phones that were recording him.
“Get this nut heads out of my face!” he yelled at no one in particular.
“Please, leave!” the boss said to the customers who were murmuring inaudibly.
Daniel rested his face in his palm, throwing his stained-face towel inside the waste bin angrily.
He only came here to give her a push about wanting him but never did he see this coming.
“I will make sure you pay for this!” he said in a harsh tone before storming out of the cafe.
“Mr. Debock!” Beatrice’s boss called after him but he was too pissed to listen to her.
“Mr. Debock!” she called again but he was walking briskly away from the cafe.
“Shit!” she said angrily, throwing the towel in her hand at Beatrice.
“It wasn’t my fault. He was making advances towards me and still wouldn't stop at that!”
“You know who that is?” her boss asked her and she nodded.
“He’s Daniel Debock. He owns the company just a few miles away from here!”
“Is that all you know about him?”
“Is there something else I need to know about him?” She said, irritatedly.
“You need to know that he can choose to lock this place down if he so pleases! You need to know I'm going to lose this place, I'm going to lose my baby because you couldn't take just a grab!”
“Louis!” Beatrice said in a harsh tone. She felt violated. “He didn't just grab me, Louis. He grabbed my ass for heaven’s sake. What other reaction were you expecting from me?”
“To be a bit nice towards him at least? Smile more and do exactly as he asked.”
“He was being rude to me and made offensive remarks about my body. Why are you defending him?”
“Because I will choose my cafe over you!”
“What?”
“Because I wanna make money and save the little I make instead of having you hit a billionaire and having to lose my cafe. Is that a wrong move?”
“Absolutely!”
“Fine. As of this moment, you will stop working here and I’m going to find a way to save my ass!” Louis was pissed, she was shocked and sad.
Louis knew how beautiful Beatrice was and how she was a great selling strategy for her business. Most people who visited her cafe did so because they wanted to see her and they dropped a huge tip in the process but now, she needed to send her off.
.............
Never had Daniel felt even more humiliated as he exited the cafe in a stained shirt. He felt dirty and even irritated by what happened earlier. He couldn't believe that he just got hit by a woman he was trying to woo.
Daniel hated the fact that she was daring and proving to be different and difficult, still, he couldn't point out what he had done to deserve her aggression.
The most annoying part of his day was him going back to the office building and having his staff stare at him like a weirdo as he made his way to his office. Especially those who saw him in a clean shirt when he was going out earlier.
Daniel gave them all a nasty glare as he proceeded to his office.
Getting in, he was about to proceed to the adjoined bathroom to get a change of clothes when he stopped in his tracks and brought out his phone from his pocket.
He was unsettled and needed to vent his anger. He made a group call to his best friends and they picked up almost at the same time.
" I can't believe you have the nerve to initiate a group call after ditching us in the club last night." Henry was saying when he stopped and stared closer into the screen. "Wait? What's.... is that Coffee on you?" He frowned, noticing the stain was one that didn't look unintentional.
Chad, who seemed busy, looked up from Henry’s remark and immediately laughed when he saw Daniel.
“Man, what’s wrong? What happened to your shirt?” he asked, still laughing.
“If it was so funny, I would have gone for the comics and not put a call through to you guys!”
“What happened?” Chad finally asked.
“I was disrespected. I was humiliated, I was assaulted, I was embarrassed, I was...”
“Chill. Breathe and then speak!” Henry encouraged.
“I hate that girl so much. I hate the fact that she exists to start with. I hate that I got entangled with her. I hate the fact that I met her!”
“Oh! chill, dude. Which girl are we talking about here?” Henry asked.
“You took a girl home from the club?" He asked, wondering.
“What? No!”
“Who then?” Chad pressed.
“Why the suspense?” Henry said impatiently.
“It was Beatrice!”
“I knew it!” Chad said with a chuckle.
“What did she do?” Henry asked instead, with a straight face. He had never seen his friend this disturbed about a lady. He always knew him to be the man of the moment and never to be so pressed about anything.
“She...” Daniel was going to answer their questions when a call came in. It was his Dad.
“Shit!”
“What?”
“My Dad is calling!”
“Then pick!” Henry said and Daniel rolled his eyes before ending the call with them.
“Hey, Dad!” he said in a low tone. Yet, surprised as to why his dad was calling him during work hours.
“Come down to the mansion!”
He frowned. "Why? Is anything the matter?"
"Your Mother and I need to talk to you."
"Look, Dad, I hate to disrespect you but if this is about attending Anita's wedding or about grandchildren, then please count me out. You all know how I feel about these topics."
"Besides, I'm very busy at the office. I've got lots of work to do."
"Very interesting, Son. You have lots of work to do but yet you had the time to go down to the cafe and grab a waitress's ass. For God's sake, Daniel! What the hell were you thinking?!"
Dan froze with the phone glued to his ear.
"Wait. H..where.....I.... I don't know what you're talking about."
"Really? Is this what is going to become of you? Moving around and disgracing the family name by taking advantage of young women? What the hell has come over you, Daniel?"
"Can't you control whatever nasty urge it is you have against women? What exactly is wrong with you?!"
"Look, Dad, it's not what you think!"
"It's not what I think? Didn't I just watch the video? Do you know what would happen to Natalie if she saw that silly clip?"
"Enough, Dad! Please!!! Natalie and I are over. Please don't bring her into this conversation."
"Meet me in the house in 30 minutes!" His father commanded, ending the call.
Daniel grumbled, seeing the phone go off. He couldn't believe that this was happening. Dan had always been someone who had fun in his own way and whilst doing that, he tried not to ruin the family's reputation or at least do something to get his father involved. He couldn't believe that the girl he had been obsessed with turned a really small gesture into a big of a deal. Tossing his phone on the table angrily, Dan dashed into the adjoined bathroom in the office and changed into another pair of shirt and pants. He arranged his hair with his fingers, did a little cleanup, then came out of the bathroom. He picked up his phone where he left it, then exited his office. After driving for almost twenty minutes, Daniel got to his parents' house. He parked the car exactly in front of the entrance door and then made his way in. The housekeeper told him his parents were in the study so he went there straight. Opening the door, he came face to face with his Dad, Mom, and Immediate younger sist
Finally getting back to his office, Daniel settled behind his desk. He brought out his phone and decided to watch the video to know why people were making him look like a bad person. Daniel Debock Tucker never owned any social media accounts. All he needed to do to know what people were saying about him was to go on any browser and search for his name and all the recent gossip would turn up which was what he did. Dan cursed inaudibly the moment he was done watching. The video really captured everything. It was almost as if the person who recorded knew he was going to mess up and had his camera on standby. Exiting the web, Daniel went to his contact list and scrolled through, searching for the number he had in mind. Upon seeing the contact he was searching for, he dialed it immediately. “Aaron?!” He called out “Yes, Boss! Good day, Boss!” “ I want you to investigate a lady called Beatrice. She works at Louis cafe which is just adjacent to the company.” “I need every damn detail
“Full name, Beatrice Arson. 26, A high school graduate and has been working jobs to jobs since then to help her struggling family and pay off the debt her late father owed.” “She’s got a not so honest boyfriend..” “What do you mean by that?” Dan asked, interrupting Aaron. He had no idea why that statement angered him a lot! “She likes him so much but he’s out there manipulating her and cheating on her as well. Rumor has it that they are going to get married soon!” “Married? How? Didn’t you just say he’s merely the boyfriend?” Daniel had no idea why he was so pissed by this conversation. “I didn’t think I saw any ring on her either!” He said, trying to remember the scene of where he held her hand earlier. “Yes, He didn’t give her a ring or any form of jewelry to seal the proposal. He only proposed by words. He told her he can’t afford a ring yet.” “What the fuck?!” Daniel found himself being even more disgusted. “He can’t afford a ring? how can he afford to even take care of her
Hardly had Daniel taken his seat when his phone vibrated in his hand. It was Amarie, his younger Sister. “We literally just saw each other a few hours ago!” “That doesn’t mean that I can still not call you.” “What do you want? This better be important because I’m very busy.” “Yeah! I had expected you to say that!” His sister replied and he could imagine her rolling her eyes at him which was exactly what she did. “What do you want, woman? I’ve got things to do!” “I sent your suit to your apartment.” Daniel frowned, “What suit?” “For the wedding.” “What wedding?” “Stop acting like you don’t know what I’m talking about. The least you can do is to thank me!” “Who told you to get me a suit?” “I knew you weren’t going to have time to shop for one so I took it upon myself, to ease you from the stress.” “Get that suit out of my place. I don’t want it. I’m not attending that event. It’s a pity you all think I’m joking.” “Are you some kind of hater or something, why are you being
“I don’t know if he has seen it yet. I haven’t been able to get across to him. His number is not going through. He must be busy.” “That’s what I detest about you. You make excuses for him every time. No matter how busy a man can be, he should never be too busy to give attention to a woman he loves and claims he’s about to marry.” “Don’t make a big deal out of this, Rita. I already told you that he’s on a business trip.” “Why do you sound nervous? You are scared he’s going to be mad at you?” “I…. I…don’t know. But I’ll definitely not welcome the idea of a woman touching my fiancé.” “Even if it’s against his will.” “So you feel he’s going to be mad at you?” “Maybe ?” She mumbled. Rita sighed from the other end. “I would never understand you and Frank’s love story.” “But let’s forget about him for now. Are you really sure you are doing well? I can come over if you don’t mind.” “I’m okay, I guess. I just need to start searching for another job.” “Louis is still a bitch for firin
“Why are you laughing? What’s so funny?” “You? A viral video? Who knows you, babe? You sure know how to crack me up.” “What do you mean by that? Are you underestimating me or?” “Do you think I’m pulling your legs right now?” “Why would someone like you even go viral? You are very shy? You don’t own a social media account. All you do is work, you hardly even go to parties!” “I admit that your reasons are valid! But that doesn’t mean you need to bully me by laughing that way. I could trend too. I’m not just too proud of this because I would rather trend for better reasons.” “I’m sorry. Been busy with work. Why were you trending?” “You know this dude? Daniel Debock Tucker?!” “Yeah, who doesn’t know that billionaire?” “He stopped by at the cafe, grabbed my ass and I slapped him.” Beatrice heard her Boo chuckle. “I don’t like how you are not taking me seriously on this?” “You need to start being serious with your words, Babe. What the hell is Daniel Debock doing in your cafe? T
Daniel felt relieved when he was done with his 4th meeting for the day. He shook hands with some partners after which he exited the conference room. “I took down notes as you requested. Should I come with you so we can go over them?” Sue, his secretary asked as she tried her best to keep up with his steps. “Forward them to my mail. I’ll have a look at them later.” Daniel mumbled, not even looking at her, making his way to his office. “Okay, Sir!” Sue answered, diverting her attention to her office. “The moment Daniel was all settled in his office, he reached for the stick on paper on his table which had two phone numbers written on them. He punched in the first set of digits on his phone and dialed it, waiting patiently for the person on the other end to answer the call. “Louis cafe, Good Morning, How can I help you?” The cheerful voice came through. It was not the voice he was expecting but he decided to go with the flow. “Two cups of coffee, please. Special delivery to Debock
The smirk she saw on his face as he stared down at her brought her out of her shocked state. “Fuck!” She cursed softly, trying to adjust her night dress. Apart from the fact that it revealed her cleavage, it was a see-through satin dress. It was almost as though he was seeing her naked. “You knew I was going to come here, hun? No doubt you are prepared for me.” Dan’s husky voice came through. She was almost shutting the door at him when he put his leg, preventing her from doing so. “Get the hell away from here?!” She glared at him, feeling really exposed by the way he was looking at her as though she was a piece of meat, ready to be devoured. “For someone who had hit me yesterday, you’re definitely not being nice to me.” “What the hell do you want? Haven’t you ruined my life enough?” She said with gritted teeth, glaring at him. “How do you even know where I live?” “Why did you turn off your phone? I was worried.” Beatrice chuckled in disbelief. “Wow!!! You must have so much tim
