The guards threatening aura immediately disappeared as he spotted the wolf. I lay flat on the ground as he mumbled something in hush tones before the bright beam of his torch seized and wondered what the heck was going on between the both of them.

Ariel had her eyes pressed shut, she shook, livid with fear and I guess the words she mumbled were silent prayers to the moon goddess. If she was scared now then I wonder the death that may await her if she actually did get caught.

“Get up your grace… we don’t have much time!” Reila linked to her mind but the connection wasn’t smooth and easy like how Lukkar’s was, instead it was rough and felt like a pain in my head, I had no idea if it was because I could barely think straight of if this is just how it was with wolves that weren’t your mate.
